3. New Style Guide and UI
For this assignment the objective was to look at an existing mobile
real time strategy game and come up with new content for the
game and a new UI design to make the game more appealing to
old and new players.
The workflow contained collecting screen shots of the game’s UI
system as well as shots of gameplay and creating a new style guide
for purposed levels and expansion of the current game and its new
“look”.
4. The game I chose was “Magic Rush” a game with a variety of game
modes; single player campaign, PVP, and World Exploration with
base building features.
Art style similar to that of popular MOBA games Dota 2 and League
of Legends
RPG aspect with skills, weapons, and Armor that can be equipped
and acquired through gameplay.
Fantasy theme and environment although some of the latest heroes
have other genre aspects to them(sci-fi, western, modern, Etc.)
5. Purposed Styleguide
I suggested expanding the current world map with a layer of
floating cities and islands on top of the current world map.
Introduce new lands in the world explore mode for advanced
players to conquer and compete over.
Introduce winged monsters and heroes to the game fitting into the
new aerial lands.
Also be used to expand the current single player campaign with
new levels located on some of the floating islands.
6. What game me this idea for having
floating cities in the new content was
after seeing a flying blimp that drops off
enemies in the single player game
mode.
After seeing this I thought how that
same model blimp could be to fly to
new locations thus lead to new floating
cities and locations.

7. New UI Designs
Part of the new UI I decided to
change was the Head to Head
game mode.
The objective is for the players
team of five heroes to defeat
the team. If time runs out the
one with the most health is the
winner.
So first I had to remove all of the
original UI features within
Photoshop and place my new
UI design.
8. Final Design
For the new design I decided to replace
the square icons with circles. This design
allows the images to be smaller and
opened up the environment.
By moving the “Auto” button to the top it
was easier to see as well right next to the
player’s thumb for simplicity.
Minor changes were also made to the rest
of the UI and to the color vibrancy of the
heroes to make them more visible during
gameplay.
10. New commercial for Play Station
For this assignment we paired into groups and had to come up with a
60 second commercial for anything content of our choosing. My
group decided to come up with a PS commercial to promote the
psVita.
Together we decided on the “beats” or outline points of the
commercial, however each individual person would have to come up
with their own storyboard of the beats.
Also within the storyboard had to be description of the type of
camera shot, dialog, music, and etc.
Finally we had to choose one image from our storyboard to finalize a
to create a color key showing the overall “feel” of our commercial.

19. Production Painting
For this assignment I had choose a story that is not a movie, game or
TV show. It could be an existing traditional or cultural myth/story.
I chose a novel called “Dragon Champion”. The first book within the
Age of Fire series, that follows the life of a young dragon called
Auron and his struggle against humanity and other species hunting
his species to near extinction. Throughout the novel Auron meets a
variety of characters in his travels and separate himself and other
dragons from human influence and conflict.
20. The first assignment was to create 6
rough concept sketches of my
production painting that captures the
essence of the "soul" of the story.
This contained my own illustrations of
key points within the story that stuck
out to me the most and what
developed Auron’s personality within
the novel.
