2. It is conventional to
have once main
banner on the left
hand side of a page
in a basic font
(usually sans serif).
This article partially follows conventions in that
there is one dominant image however it
challenges them by having it across both pages.
A grab quote is used in a conventional manner to grab
the readers attention, it will give an insight into the rest
of the article
The page is spread out
into 3 columns, this
makes the magazine
more appealing as it is
associating itself with a
typical professional
structure
The images that are
used are related to
the article, they are
intended to be eye-
catching so the reader
would want to see
what the magazine
has to offer
Following the rule of thirds there is
extra information away from our
eyesight such as the magazine name
3. It is considered
conventional to have a
small information box
in the top left of the
corner. It provides the
channel and day in
which you can watch
the program
described.
For the first letter of the article a drop down
cap has been used, this gives the article a
professional appeal.
The page
numbers are
located at the
bottom right of
the page, this
means the article
can be quickly
referred to in
contents pages.
A simple three
column structure is
used to set up the
text in a formal and
professional
manner.
One dominate image
is used which is
associated with the
program and article,
it grabs the readers
attention due to the
mise-en-scene used.
A grab quote is used, it is constructed in a larger font so it catches the readers eye. It is a key
point of the article which leads to the reader wanting to find out more.
4. WHAT HAVE I LEARNT ABOUT
CONVENTIONS?
A drop down Cap is usually used at the start of an article

5. WHATWASTHE PURPOSE OFTHETASK?
This task was partially useful for my coursework as I had to create a magazine
double page spread of my own.Through this task I learnt what conventions must
be used to appeal to readers, as well as those which can be challenged to make
the magazine unique. With this new information I feel I can make changes to the
magazine in order to achieve a more professional overall look.
