Running Head: Construction Project Proposal
Introduction
Tifwil Construction Company is a reliable company in house construction with over 10 years industry experience. It has signed a contract to construct four two-story townhouses to be constructed on a small site in a largely built-out area in our neighborhood. These will be used as warehouses. The project is to take a period of two months and the budget estimates is $1.8m.
Objectives
To achieve the project triple constraint of time, scope and cost.
Constraints
Budgetary constraints that will affect quality and performance of the project
Legal constraints – the project will be done within work law, safety regulations and supervision plan
Environmental constraints – the project should not have any negative impact on the environment
Technical constraints – since the project will be carried out on a small site in a largely built-out area, issues such as storage space, transportation and offloading of materials must be handled keenly.
Social constraints mainly concerning people working on the project such as human resistance
Resources
For all the activities human resources are required to make the project team and utilize labor for project.
Software resources - Software resources are required to make the design of house. Organizational process asset - Organizational process assets contains organization’s policies, templates, standards and help data for the guidance of team members so that they can perform the project processes more efficiently and with better utilization of time and monetary resources. Transportation resources - Transportation is required for delivery of material.
Materials - Different type of material is needed for this project like cement, steel, sand etc.
Equipment - Equipment are also required this project.

5. Construction project

The project I chose for this paper is a construction project. This
project involves construction of four two-story townhouses to
be constructed on a small site in a largely built-out area in our
neighborhood. These are going to be used as warehouses for
storage since the problem of storehouses is rampant in our area.
The budget for the project is $1.8m. I chose it because I have
experience on the use of project management techniques which
are needed here and ensure success of the project
The primary purpose of project management techniques is to
help managers plan, execute and control all aspects of the
project management process. We rely on key tools for managing
a project to ensure that each task is completed on time and to
balance staff workload for optimal time management. Because
project management tools enhance resource efficiency and
ensure project scope, such tools are especially important for
6. projects like this one.
The strategic planning will involve the following steps:
Planning
I would plan on how the various activities are going to be
accomplished, who to accomplish them and the time frame of
the project. This will also involve financial planning.
Defining the deliverables
I have to determine the outcome of the project. What is the
output? The deliverable here is for the house to be built and this
enables proper channeling of resources.
Determination of objectives and strategies
The objective is to construct the house which has to be built and
completed in two months. Therefore to achieve this we will
develop a strategy to ensure faster completion by working
overtime and on weekends as well as involving the best
construction experts.
Implementation and evaluation
The next step is to implement and evaluate the plan. We will
also need to constantly monitor and assess the implementation
of the project to determine if the plan is achieving the
objectives. The timeframe has to be monitored and compared to
the amount of work completed for proper action to be done.
