4. Part 2: What is your personal marketing strategy; i.e., what do
you plan to doto ensure you achieve your goals? (Some
questions you might reflect on in your response include: How
will I penetrate the hidden job market? How will expand my
professional network? Are there skills I need to be working on
to be more competitive as a candidate? How will I track my job
search? What resources can I use to help me in my job search
and how I often should I be contacting them? How will I ensure
my résumé and other job-search tools stay current? Where will I
look for job leads? How will I hone my interviewing skills?
What will I do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to ensure I am
conducting the most proactive job search possible?) (50 points)
In order to achieve my goals, I will . . .
For my personal goals to be achieved, I shall first have to get
into the job market by initially gaining experience through
internships and voluntary work such as medical camps. This
shall give me a competitive advantage over other job seekers
since many employers would like to employ workers who
already have an idea of what takes place in the actual job
scenario. I shall also be in a position to expand my professional
network by getting contacts of well experienced doctors, nurses
and lecturers. This shall make the hunt for a job easier since
maintaining a good connection with them proves that you have
interest in your line of work. I shall also be able to keep my
skills up to date by attending seminars offered and constantly
working in scenarios such as accidents and other emergencies in
order to refresh my memory and sharpen my skill as per my
employer’s requirement.
I shall be able to track my job search by keeping in contact with
my links to the employers and constantly staying in touch with
them. This shall enable me o keep track of my current status as
pertains to the competition involved and whether or not I was
successful in getting the job. The resources I shall use to do this
5. include my previous lecturers and my fellow healthcare workers
who are already in the job market. These people shall provide
crucial connections and shall play a key part in ensuring I attain
my goals of getting the desired job opportunities.
I shall also ensure that my resume and other job search tools
stay current by frequently updating them to include the
experience I have gained and new employers met. I shall also be
able to include letters of recommendation from these new
employers in order to improve my reputation and increase my
possibility of getting a new job. Lastly, I shall improve my
interviewing skills by having them polished by people who sit
in interviewing panels. I shall seek their guidance and ensure to
follow their instruction as they know what the employers are
looking for.
