William Shakespeare was well known for his use in metathreate, a play which features another play
as a part of the plot. First time that we see the making of metathreate was when Hamlet declares in
Act II, where he announces a whole plot to 'catch' his uncle Claudius, and force him into a genuine
confession of the murder of his father. Due to the fact that Hamlet has been entrusted with the duty
of avenging his father's death by his father's Ghost. He was then told learns that his father may be
murdered by Claudius, but he hesitates to execute the command of the Ghost and Claudius' sin. All
he need and want now is to have a strong proof before taking any revenge and allows time to lapse
until the arrival of the players. Their arrival somehow inspires him with a sudden idea of enacting a
whole play to catch the conscience of Claudius.
At first, Hamlet has struggles during the first part of the play with the admonition from the Ghost of

In Virginia Woolf's A Haunted House, images of darkness and light have numerous symbolic
meanings. Light is associated with the presence of the ghostly couple that roams the speaker's home,
but it has symbolic meanings beyond that–it represents the insight and truth the speaker gains from
observing the couple. In addition, as is revealed by the last lines of the story and the images of
darkness used in the story (which provide a counterpoint to the symbolism of light), light represents
the love and happiness that comes from union. Overall, light plays a major role in the development
of one of the major themes of the story: human relationships are more valuable and lasting than any
tangible riches or treasures.
Light imagery is associated with the ghostly couple throughout much of Virginia Woolf's work. For
instance, in section 3, the speaker states that she uses the reflection of sunlight in the drawing room

"The Ghost" and The Darkness", mudered a number of employers on the East Africa Rail road at the
Tsavo River and stopped the project until the workers were hunted down and report by a British

The story, Hamlet, could be seen as one full of tragedy, love, and vengeance. Yet, the story could

History Of St. Albans Sanatorium
St. Albans Sanatorium has a beautiful Sphinx–like presence that literally vibrates with remarkable
energy. She will often call out to certain people, pulling them into her arms and into her service. I
know, because she chose me to help save her and I am not alone. When I first came to St. Albans I
was working with merchandising. At that time I was afraid of the dark hallways and empty rooms of
the old asylum. I quickly overcame my fear of the place and it was replaced by a love of the
building and what it had meant for so many who had come before me. We are its caretakers. Those
of us, both paid and volunteer who strive to keep the doors open to a place worth saving, a place that
was once the caretaker to so many within its care. Those of us who are now here carry on the vision
of people like Don Hanauer, former Director of Operations for St. Albans. He saw the beauty in this
building and had a vision of restoring it to its former glory. As outlined in the final chapter of this
book, we have worked on a number of special events developed to generate funding for the

When you've visited this location, have you ever felt like there was the feel of energy or an extra
presence with you? If you were asking yourself is the R.O.M haunted? The answer to that would be
yes. The first owner of this museum was Charles Currelly, he worked at there for 35 years and
retired in 1946. Charles passed away in 1957, however his spirit has not left the building. The
museum workers have claimed that they have seen Charles wandering around on the main floor in a
nightshirt. Also there has been a museum next door that is now closed because there was apparently
a little girl's spirit who say with the live audience when shows were going on. Ghosts have been a
controversial debate for a while now and there is no scientific proof to their existence. However
many people so seem to have the belief they are out there. People have retold several stories and

Descriptive Essay On Haunted House
If there was one thing that has grasped my attention as much as it caused me nightmares, it was
haunted houses. Not the type of haunted houses that pop up around Halloween and frighten you with
organized jump scares. I mean real haunted houses with a backstory. The kind where someone ended
up being murdered on the property and the person's spirit lingers years later. That's what I am on the
search for. My interest started after I had accidently watched My Paranormal Encounter while
channel surfing at the age of 10. Ever since that day I've been doing research on paranormal activity:
attempting to discover a way to conquer my fear. It's been a decade since I first began and myself,
along with a few friends, have been preparing for almost a year to further my research by visiting a
real haunted house. Convincing myself that I was ready for this was more difficult than convincing
the others involved. Even now as I sit in the back of some beat up van I feel like we should go back.

Has one ever witnessed a paranormal encounter? "The Night the Ghost Got In" is written by James
Thurber and takes place November 17, 1915. Footsteps are heard down stairs and each family
member has a different theory on what is making those footsteps. Like any family things get out of
hand fast. James Thurber delivers a great tale on paranoia, the struggle of PTSD while adding some
humor.
Paranoia is a common feeling in the story. Everyone can relate to a time when a door closed
unexpectedly, or unexplainable noises can were heard. So many thoughts of what it could be can
lead people to paranoia. When the boy in the story first hears the footsteps, he just assumes it's a
ghost. The paranoia builds up when he wakes his brother up to investigate the ghost. The mother
then wakes and hears the noise, but instead of a ghost she thought it was burglars. The mothers
paranoia escalates quickly and the cops show up. Then the grandfathers paranoia of deserters leads
him to shooting a cop. By the end of the night no one knows what happen and what the cause of the

In The Night the Ghost Got In, Thurber used humor to lessen the serious condition called PTSD.
Back in 1915 PTSD was not a known condition. In the story Thurber has the grandfather suffer from
PTSD. He thought the policemen were deserters and tries to shoot them (page 3). Deserters were
people who abandoned duty without permission. Many soldiers in the war did not like deserters and
therefore why the grandfather tried to shoot them. He even has a gun next to him (page 3). Some
people may have a grandfather that also, has PTSD and has acted the same way. This is a way to
