and died on April 15, 1948. He served the
Philippines as its Fifth President. He is also
known as the First President of the Third
Republic of the Philippines after the Americans
ceded its sovereignty over the Philippines.
Before he was elected as the president of the
Philippines, he was elected as a senator during
the years of the World War II.
