2.  There is an increase in child obesity due to lack
of knowledge regarding active lifestyles.
 Promoting sports in schools enables children to
experience the benefits of be physically active
and being outdoors. This will be encourage them
to be active outside the school grounds and
replace watching television and computer
games.
 Physical activities also enables children to learn
different movement skills, enhances creativity.
 Most importantly sports is FUN!

3.  This key learning area provides opportunities for students to form
positive attitudes about themselves and others, to communicate
effectively, to work cooperatively and to develop and maintain
positive relationships (BOS, 2007)
 It is important for young students to value themselves and others.
The younger they learn will result in higher self esteem and
responsibility.

4.  Students are able to understand and perform healthy lifestyle
choices such as healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
 The side effects of smoking, drug use and alcohol consumption is
also highlighted and identified
 Different forms of peer pressure and bullying is discussed. This
provides a safe environment for students. Resulting in prevention
measures.
