2. Throughout the creation of my Advanced Portfolio I have created
and finalised a promotional package for the (fictional) film
‘STOLEN’. My pack includes a film trailer, promotional film poster
and a film magazine cover.
Instead of being a large conglomerate, ‘UNDERWOOD
PRODUCTIONS’ would be considered an independent film
company. Therefore effective marketing on a small budget is vital
in order to promote my overall film.

4. Synergy promotes recognition across all promotional methods.
I decided to use synergy in order for audience members to become
aware and recognise ‘STOLEN’ across all of the media products I
have made as part of my A2 Advanced Portfolio.
An example of using synergy throughout my products is through
my consistent use of font and colour. My trailer conforms to the
horror thriller genre as there is relevant iconography throughout;
such as the use of the colour red and film title.
I therefore used this same iconography within my two ancillary
products, therefore utilising complete recognition from the
audience.

5. The colour red is significant within my film’s narrative; as well as
the red scarf being used as a motif for the protagonists stolen
identity, red has an underlying connotation and association with
the horror thriller genre.
Throughout the thriller genre, red connotes danger, informing the
audience that they should be wary as to what will happen next.
This therefore creates tension and suspense in the audience.
Connotations of danger is also suggested in the horror genre.
Throughout horror films, red is symbolic to blood and to themes of
destruction.
