2. Today during our media
lesson Emily and I thought it
would best to have a
performance off! By that I
mean we had a little
competition to see who was
best at performing in our
music video. For this though
we didn't use props or
costumes and just filmed
each other dancing and acting
to the music video. We also
wanted to test out the green
screen to see how effective
this was compared to the wall
paper samples we have also
collected.
3. From doing this we found out
Emily was better at close-up
shots as she showed a lot more
facial expression overall making a
better performance for the
audience. This will then keep
them entertain and keep their
focus. Whereas my close-ups my
facials weren't as good. Also my
lip syncing wasn't that clear,
which is the whole idea of a
music video. Meaning that Emily
so far is the winner.
4. However my medium
shots where a lot better
than Emily's due to the fact
I acted out the lyrics a lot
more than Emily did
making it look a lot more
interesting than Emily.
Also Emily repeated a lot
of actions making it seem
very samey and boring. So
we clearly had a dilemma!
5. To sort this Emily is going to be the actress!
We decided this because the majority of the
shots are close-up and as she did better at this
we though that would be a more suitable idea.
We also decided this because she will have
action and moves to do to the lyrics. So she
wont have to make them up on the spot like
we did in the practice.
6. We also decided against using a green screen as it
didn’t look realistic enough. I feel it is only really
appropriate to use a green screen if filming in
locations hard to reach. Where as we have the
appropriate backgrounds ready to use. They will also
look a lot more effective!
