Production Day Diary
Three – 10/11/2016
Grace Crawford, Yr 13, Post Production Diary Three
10/11/2016-9:00am-11:00am
This day was focused upon filming shots that were needed for filming within the locational
grounds of Manshead School both interior and exterior shots-this day shall focuses upon
gathering the scenes in which character Eve quietly works upon a computer and receives
another message via email in which to warn her of the presence near to her in which the
prediction comes to life, and thus proving to audience that the messages receive shall come
true. For these scenes we needed an establishing shot pf the school as well as the scene in
which Eve is quietly working upon the computer to which she is informed of the message via
email. So we needed close access to a classroom as well as computer to access the emails in
order for the email to be sent.
Abi, Danielle and myself shall be resuming our roles-with myself starring the central character
of Eve, Danielle filming the shots with Abi conferring closely with both script and shot log
ensuring that all scenes are appropriate and effective for filming. As a team, we all worked
closely together to ensure the success of our production goes down successfully for our final
overall finish.

We started off by filming the shots in which Eve is working on the computer.
As an actor, I was reprising my role as character Eve for this part in which I
closely referred to the shot log for each scenes as well script to gain an
insight into character action. Both Abi and discussed each scene out in
which we determined what character emotion and action would work for
each scene now that we are carrying out the following scenes needed for
the footage. Danielle continued her role as filming out the following scenes
for the interior and exterior shots, handling the camera effectively and
gaining that effect needed to make our shots look highly professional and
authentic.

One of the most important tasks we had to recreate from our script would be the email in
which character Eve receives an anonymous email from someone delivering another message
to her-this was a rather difficult task to create as of course we needed to change the email
around completely and alter names to give that eerie effect we desire for leaving a mysterious
email to Eve without leaving our normal details on the email-our desire was to strip the email
and alter names so that it gave the impression that it did come from a mysterious source.
For this effect we used the software program Paint in which we could successfully alter over the
layer and begin changing things to our own advantage, moving the original names and
replacing it with our desired text-with this we were than able to screenshot and replace over
the email so that it looked like a genuine outlook email -the only problem we did have, that as
a photo, we would not be able to click onto the actual email however we did not think this
mattered too much considering we only wanted to merely show what the email said at a glance
for audiences.
The creation of the email took some time yet in the end, it went down
successfully and we were able to construct an email that we desired
for the script. It was a great effect that we was also able to be clearly
caught on camera-so we now needed to shot log the multiple scenes
and see which ones would be best suited towards the post production
stages for the overall footage.
After this lengthy shot had been concluded, we were finally able to
move on to the further last scenes to finish the remaining pieces of
footage needed for this day.
The time got to 10:15 in which we had plenty of time to finished and
reshot any out sounding shots that we felt may of needed replacing
once looking over the camera and its footage completely.

For this effect we used the software program Paint in which we could successfully alter over the layer and begin changing things to our own advantage, moving the original names and replacing it with our desired text-with this we were than able to screenshot and replace over the email so that it looked like a genuine outlook email -the only problem we did have, that as a photo, we would not be able to click onto the actual email however we did not think this mattered too much considering we only wanted to merely show what the email said at a glance for audiences.
  • 5. The creation of the email took some time yet in the end, it went down successfully and we were able to construct an email that we desired for the script. It was a great effect that we was also able to be clearly caught on camera-so we now needed to shot log the multiple scenes and see which ones would be best suited towards the post production stages for the overall footage. After this lengthy shot had been concluded, we were finally able to move on to the further last scenes to finish the remaining pieces of footage needed for this day. The time got to 10:15 in which we had plenty of time to finished and reshot any out sounding shots that we felt may of needed replacing once looking over the camera and its footage completely.
