2. Flashbacks
We decided to create a different effect by the flashbacks. In many films when there is
a flashback you just see it appearing and happening on the screen. As an audience we
clearly know we are watching a film because of the amount of dialogue we hear or by
the other effects in the film we can tell e.g. music. We felt that we would challenge
conventions in films by making it look extra bright because the audience have seen so
little so they need to be aware that this is a clear flashback. Of course by the time the
voiceover happen people would be aware of what is happening as they both run
against each other however we really wanted to make it our own by doing so. I haven’t
seen films that are thrillers that have necessarily done so
3. Titles
We deliberately decided to adapt the use of titles of the film
Taken in our own. I think its very important that the title
really matches what we see or at least implies what is going
to happen. We also wanted to work on something that was
simple and straight to the point. We initially wanted
something complex however we felt that keeping basic would
convey a much more effective meaning rather than
something meaningless.
4. Costume
I adapted the style of what the
men wore in the film _____
because I felt suits really does
say a lot about someone’s
working attitude. It shows a
keen eye in appearance. I
wanted the main actor in the
film to wear a shirt and tie
because I felt this gives a good
impression. We wanted to get
across the idea that this man
was a hard working man with a
family and the smart wear gives
this impression across easily.
