Many things motivate the main character Equality. Thinking of this, some may wonder what is his
primary motivation. His primary motivation is to prove everyone and everything he has ever known
to be wrong. He was always told to be exactly the same as everyone else, but he wanted to be
different. Equality knew his invention could benefit mankind and that's why defied all odds and
proves everyone wrong. This motivates him because he's always been told he wasn't able to be
smarter or stronger but to be equal to all of his brothers. He was always told he couldn't be anything

As I ponder the question, what motivates a team? I began to think about a time when motivation
was lacking in a previous work setting. It was a time when your achievements were not recognized,
a time when you were given new responsibilities with little or no training. As I read the course
materials, I began to identify the basic requirements of motivating a team as well as the elements
that discourage a team. Most importantly, I was able to identify with the true meaning of motivation.
Motivation is defined as the process that initiate, guides and maintains goal–oriented behavior
(Cherry, 2015).
Several years ago, I worked in an environment lead by one of the most intellectual and charismatic
individuals you ever met. As a result, one would assume that a team with such an accomplished
leader would be enthusiastic, innovative and a pleasure to be around. Unfortunately, what appears to
be polished on the outside does not always look good at the core. Consequently, ego and insecurity
played a significant role in the workplace at that time. There was a lack of teamwork and a lack of
