Haramb Pros And Cons
You are sitting at home. You are relaxed. You see something new. You pick it up. You are shot.
Dead. This was the case for the Gorilla, Harambe. Harambe a seventeen year old silverback gorilla,
was shot dead by Cincinnati Zoo keepers and workers out of fear that he would hurt Isaiah, the little
boy that fell into his cage. You would not allow this to happen to your relative, a friend, any human.
Right? This is not uncommon as sixteen animals have been shot, while being in captivity, in the last
nine years due to human stupidity. There could have been other outcomes to this horrific story if
other methods were used to sustain Harambe.

People are saying that the parents should be held responsible for not looking after their child during
the incident. More than seventy–thousand petitioners have signed up to campaign for the parents to
be investigated after their child fell up to 12feet into the enclosure. They want the parents to be held
accountable for the lack of supervision and negligence that caused Harambe to lose his life. The
boy's mother, Michelle, has been faced with criticism online. Animal right campaigners claim that
she should have been keeping a closer eye on her child. The mother then claimed that she tried to
prevent it. She said that she tried to grab him but she just was not quick enough. The mother argued
that the people that know her know that she always has a tight grip on her child and that the public
were too quick to judge her. The parents spoke out after the incident and explained that they were
thankful for the right people being there at the right time on the day of the incident, but if they were
watching their children properly then this whole situation could have been avoided. The boy only

Literary Review
My argument is that SF literature offers a utopian hope for the future where individual differences
are no longer criticized. To conduct this literature review I used multiple information sources to
examine issues of gender and sexuality within science fiction literature. None of these sources claim
to have produced a conclusive work on the interpretation of gender and sexuality in SF. Some of
what I have read seems to be a general overview while some is more focused, but everything clearly
references other theorists, studies and texts to back up the arguments made.

In other words feminist SF is an effective and powerful means for feminist visionary developments
that are crucial for the initial attempts to embark on the cultural and social changes that are the goals
for the feminist political enterprise. Hollinger discusses Le Guin's view that feminist SF doesn't
prophecy the future but it refers to the world as it is. This is interesting because it emphasises this
idea that the SF can explore such issues of gender and sexuality in reality.
Hollinger references works such as 'The Female Man,' 'Bloodchild', The Left Hand of Darkness' and
'Women on the Edge of Time' together with people like Donna Harraway, Teresa de Lauretis and
Judith Butler. In addition to the well–known feminist utopian works of the 70's Hollinger also
mentions Helen O'Loy, which is an early masculine focused novel. We see the importance of
feminist SF when we read about works such as this, because the contrast shows that some SF writers
obviously didn't identify the historical possibility and cultural traditionalism of our notions
regarding gender and sexual identity and the roles of men and women. Hollinger brings together
plenty of evidence to back up her points about feminist theory and SF making for a comprehensive

Victoria Gaydosik, an associate professor at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a
published editor of young adult books, is a critic of 1984. She said "The ruling political system,
Ingsoc, venerates the leader (possibly mythical) Big Brother; members of the Inner Party exercise

The article "Skin Deep" written by Nina G. Jablonski and George Chaplin discusses the evolution of
skin color. Right from the beginning of the article, Jablonski and Chaplin debunked the existing
theory that darker skin color evolved to protect humans against skin cancer. As a matter of fact,
evidence has shown that skin color in humans is the product of natural selection. "Skin Deep" also

More recent incarnations of growth theory, following Romer (1986) and Lucas (1988), endogenize
steady–state growth and technical progress, but their explanation for income differences is similar to
that of the older theories. For instance, in the model of Romer (1990), a country may be more
prosperous than another if it allocates more resources to innovation, but what determines this is
essentially preferences and properties of the technology for creating 'ideas'.1 Though this theoretical
tradition is still vibrant in economics and has provided many insights about the mechanics of
economic growth, it has for a long time seemed unable to provide a fundamental explanation for
economic growth. As North and Thomas (1973, p. 2) put it: "the factors we have listed (innovation,
economies of scale, education, capital accumulation etc.) are not causes of growth; they are growth"

explain how the human skin color has evolved to be dark enough to prevent sunlight from
destroying folate but light enough to enhance the production of Vitamin D. The changes in skin
pigmentation have evolved since the age of Lucy, who is a skeleton of the ancient humans that is
about 3.2 million old. Lucy is being used to determine where and why our ancestors began changing
in skin pigmentation. The theory according to Peter Wheeler of John Moores University in
Liverpool, England is that the skin of humans adapted to fit the needs at that time. His theory is that

Scientists have recently discovered a new species of the orangutan in northern Sumatra in Indonesia,
but these new orangutan species are already considered endangered.
Currently, there are two recognized orangutan species: the Bornean (Pongo pygmaeus) and
Sumatran (Pongo abelii) orangutans. The third one, a new species called the Tapanuli (Pongo
tapanuliensis) orangutan, are said to have less than 800 individuals remaining in an area near Lake
Toba in northern Sumatra.

increase in the interest rates resulted in the inability of many people to afford the repayments on
mortgages that led them to default. The rising interest rates had huge effects on the subprime market
in the United States in which money was lent to probable risky debtors. Credit crunch was not only
exacerbated by the increase in interest rates but it was also fueled by over lending by banks that
could offer around 125 percent mortgages. In such instances, these banks were left with 25 percent
out of pocket because they could only recover 100 percent in cases of defaults and repossessions.
Therefore, the main cause of the credit crunch in 2007–2009 was over–optimistic lending by banks

Hawthorne effect. Prominent early scholars included Chester Barnard, Henri Fayol, Frederick
