Gregor 's family found his attempts to talk annoying and irritating. An inability to communicate easily is a huge blow for someone trying to retain some
humanity.
One great difference between the two men is that Merrick was able to communicate if he had something to write on, whereas Gregor was not able
to communicate well at all. Merrick wrote letters to people who he had met and notes to the doctors and staff at the hospital where he spent most of
his adult life (Treves 1). Gregor tried to communicate by pushing things around, like his food, and separating the stuff he wanted from what he didn't,
so his sister would know what to bring him. His sister seemed to understand this system of communications as she adjusted his food accordingly, this
made it more difficult for him when she stopped picking up on his hints and did the minimum possible to keep him alive. He also pushed things
around his room and hid when people were coming in; this showed that he understood that they didn't want to see him. Another major difference
between the two men was that Gregor always had a place to live. Merrick's father and step–mother kicked him out of the house when he was 15. After

NH DHHS has been in contact with the New Hampshire Hospital Association and New Hampshire hospitals to discuss the 2011 DSH audit results
and outline a recoupment process for hospitals with excess payments. NH DHHS has been working to create a timeline for repayment that would
satisfy CMS requirements yet be sensitive to the hardship that these repayments will impose on hospitals that are already strapped for cash. In total,
$20,892,160 will need to be collected from hospitals that were deemed overpaid, with those funds eventually being redistributed to hospitals deemed
underpaid per the 2011 DSH audits conducted by Myers and Stauffer. The final 2011 DSHaudit reflects an overpayment to New London Hospital of
$842,856.
The preliminary 2012 DSH audit by Myers and Stauffer is currently indicating an overpayment to New London Hospital of approximately $1.2M.
These are not final audit amounts and could change pending further review.
A suit has been filed by the New Hampshire Hospital Association, along with several other NH hospitals against CMS over the treatment of dual

Smallpox is a Variola virus and part of the Genus Orthopoxvirus.

Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is often considered to be one of the most significant women in the history of medicine and society, her work is often

Eventually, she enrolled as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital and attended lectures given to the male student doctors. This lasted only a few months, as the
