Back to School Tid-bit:
Don’t make these “Back to School” mistakes:
1.Mistake No. 1: Shopping at the wrong places
Buying at the dollar store may be more expensive than at
other retail stores with lower costs.
2.Mistake No. 2: Ignoring price drops after purchase
Ask for price matching or get price adjustments.
3.Mistake No. 3: Buying all the school supplies on the list
Don’t buy everything on the list for the first day. Wait till
prices get marked down after school starts, then buy
items.
4.Mistake No. 4: Shopping too early in the summer
Wait for the sales instead of trying to get ahead and get
the shopping off your “to do” list.
Kendal Intergenerational News:

Oberlin at Tappan Square. We would love for you to join

2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
July certainly flew by for the birds and giraffes in the classroom! The children really enjoyed all the fun activities this past
month. We enjoyed exploring Tappan Square, and the children showed us all their favorite spots including the swing, the
monument, and the bandstand! We had a visit from the Metro Parks as well. They brought a live Box Turtle. It really was a
great experience. We have also had many water days to cool off from the hot temperatures. The splash pad was a great hit
as well as just getting out the sprinkler; the children are having a blast! We are also learning a little Spanish in the classroom
as our new friend Irineu (E-di-now) has joined the class. He is joining us from Northern Spain and will be with us for a few
months. August is going to be busy with a lot of new friends starting. The beginning of the month we will have another visit
from the Metro Parks to learn about dinosaurs to finish off our study. We will also have our annual Fair trip in August. We
look forward to meeting all of our new friends and some old ones returning.
Have a great summer! Karen, Mary, Sara, Macie and Robin
