1. IT’S APRIL AND ROBIN COMES BACK ON THE 10TH
! Hopefully April brings us spring weather and it is warmer! This
month we will be having a fundraiser where you can order your child’s artwork on different products, and items will be back
in time for Mother’s Day.  Other April activities we will be having are our annual Easter Egg hunt, celebrating the Week
of the Young Child, and preparing for May conferences. I will also be away for training towards the end of the month, and
Sara and Robin will be covering in my absence if you need anything. Have a great month! Jeni Hoover

Reminder: Don’t forget to send your child with a hooded towel
for swimming dates. This makes it much easier to walk back and
forth to the pool and reduces falls.

Learning to Recycle
We are continuing to collect bottle caps/lids to be melted into a
bench for the children to use alongside the “little library” that
was donated to us from The Stocker Foundation.
We have 150 lbs. of bottle caps
and only need 250 more pounds!

KELC’s Silent Auction:
In May we will be having our first silent auction. Our parent
leadership group is working on collecting donations for the event
and would like to reach out to our parents to see if you have
anything you would like to donate for this event. Or do you
know a local business that may be willing to donate something to
our auction? Please see Sara if you have anything to donate or
know of anyone who may be willing to donate to this event.

2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
The year seems to be flying by; it is already April! We really enjoyed learning
about simple machines during the month of March. A big thanks to everyone that
brought in a simple machine for the children to explore. The biggest hit was the pulley
and lever that Courtney’s dad made just for us!
March was a special month, and we were able to go on two ELI field trips. The
children enjoyed seeing the contemporary art at MOCA. We really loved ending the
month with learning different ways to move at the Bop Stop at the Music Settlement.
We learned that the Inlet Dance Theater is turning the book, What Do You Do With An
Idea?, into a play. They performed for us one scene that they have developed, and
hope to have the whole story ready next year.
This month we are welcoming spring and learning all about it beginning with a
walk to explore some of the Kendal ponds.
