• Applicant knows up front…

results that help solve Toronto’s supply
constraint problem

6. Eligible buildings
• Are in Toronto – Office
• Are existing – not – Hotel
new construction – Retail
• Are privately owned – Mixed use
• Have a gross floor – Private Institution
area not less than (private healthcare
25,000 square feet. and education)
– Industrial Buildings
(Lighting and HVAC)

7. Non-eligible Building Types
• Multiresidential (apartments,
condominiums)
• Municipalities, Universities, Academics
Schools and Hospitals (the MUSH
MASH group)

• HVAC re-design
• Equipment replacement
• Variable Speed Drives (Fans, Pumps, Chillers)

9. Go Green Eligibility Requirement
• Online building environmental audit
• Go Green Assessment is $600 per
building
• No Program requirement to obtain
certification (extra cost)

• Program Participants who certify are
eligible for a rebate: up to $1,000

Savings ($.05 per kWh)
Program provides incentives for Demand

• Measurement & Verification experts
• Impartial
• Key to incentive payment when you
want it - at the conclusion of the Project

18. Step 4 (cont’d): Evaluate and
Audit
• Project Evaluator –
– Confirms M&V Plan
– Certifies all documents
– Checks all calculations and assumptions
– Conducts pre-Project audit
– Comes to agreement with Participant on
eligible savings
AND…
– Advance Evaluation and Incentive Report
is signed

19. Step 5: Implement Project
• Participant proceeds with Project

20. Step 6: Post-Project Audit
On completion of the Project…
• Project Evaluator audits Project,
oversees M&V activities
• Non-compliant? PE writes up
variances, terms of compliance
negotiated
• Complete and in compliance? Final
Evaluation and Incentive Report is
signed

21. Step 7: Incentive Cheque OPA
to Applicants
• PM sends “Project Complete” to OPA
• OPA sends incentive cheque to
Applicant

22. What’s the Status?
• As of 1 March 2007, the BOMA Toronto
CDM Program has been receiving
applications
• 30 approved applications to date for
over 5 MW of demand reduction
• Up-to-date Program info available at
