What are simple
 tenses? Why do we
 use them??

  happened.
• The most basic
  tenses are called
  SIMPLE TENSES

Simple Present Tense
 • WHEN?? Used for something you ALWAYS or
   USUALLY do
 • Conjugation: Simple form of the verb
EXAMPLE
                 “to study” = “study”
      I always study at school.
      I usually at night.
      On Mondays, I study at my house.
      On most weekends, I study at the coffee shop.
Simple Past Tense
 • WHEN?? Used for something you did BEFORE
 • Conjugation: Simple form of the verb + “ed”
EXAMPLE
               “to study” = “studied”
    When I was 6 years old, I studied at
     my elementary school.
    Last week, I studied every night.
    Last year, I studied Biology.
    Yesterday, I studied at the coffee shop.
Simple Future Tense
 • WHEN?? Used for something will do LATER
 • Conjugation: Simple form of the verb + “will”
EXAMPLE
             “to study” = “will study”
    When I am in graduate school, I will
     study at Harvard University.
    Next week, I will study every night.
    Next year, I will study Biology.
    Two hours from now, I will study at the coffee
     shop.
In Korean - 한국어로
• Simple Present Tense:
   I study. = 나는 공부해요.


 Simple Past Tense:
   I studied. = 나는 공부했어요.


 Simple Future Tense:
   I will study. = 나는 공부할 거예요.
