What NOT to do when writing a survey
(students’ suggestions):
- Give options for every possible answer 
do not leave anything out
- The survey should be as objective as
possible
- You shouldn’t influence the interviewee
or suggest the answer.
- Make sure you aim the survey at the right
crowd.
- Avoid long questions
- Don’t use aggressive or impolite language

2. Additional tips:
- Remember “happiness” is subjective so
you should use a scale question:
On a scale from 1 to 10 how happy are you
about our new product?
- Never start the questionnaire with a
question about money
- Questions should not have the
interviewee think too much
