Day 1
Objectives: By the end of class all students will be able to:
Know the basics of positive psychology
Have an idea of their individual personality type
Have an idea of their individual learning style

Take attendance

Put up the VARK test on the overhead
Have the students answer each of the questions (remember multiple answers or blank is fine)
Scroll down and have them score and explain Kinesthetic, Auditory, Visual, and Reading
Minute 15-30
Pull up true colors on the overhead and have the class rank each section (follow instructions on
the true colors activity)
Scroll down and have them score each color and see what color they are
Scroll down and review the details of each color
3. Survey how many golds/green/blue/ and oranges there are in class
Minute 30-40
Transition to how relates to positive psychology
Bring up true color Powerpoint
Briefly go through attributes/ working with/ famous
Then show negative mid set vs positive mindset when working with the different colors
Each color has their own strengths and weaknesses so a talk about how it is good to know what
color(s) you and any partners you have are strong and weak in to be able to make the best
possible team.

4. Minute 80-85
Reflect on how you think? Do you get stuck with negative thoughts? Remember you can control
what you are thinking. If you start thinking negative stop yourself and think positive. You have
to train your brain to think positive, it required work and effort.
Suggestion: once a day or even a few days a week write down 5 things that made you happy or
grateful that day. Do that over and over and take it seriously and I guarantee you will become
happier and think more positively.
