2. Process
First I had to get my picture so I scoured the internet
until I found one that I could use to create an image
that would draw someone in.
I then wanted to change the colour to that of thermal
vision to either make it seem like you were looking
through the eyes of a beast, even though my original
intention was to show that the man was trying to break
free from the heart of the jungle (the heart being the
bright orange-red colour). I Changed the colour by
using the hue saturation and then using the posturize
tool I created a darker effect. Using brightness and
changing the contrast using the contrast tool on
Photoshop. I then decided what I wanted to write on
my poster and used the text tool. Using tools will
provide me with a wider range of possibilities to create
my personal project. The hue/ saturation tool used in
the photo to the left created a thermal image. There
are multiple ideas that come to my mind when seeing
this. One is that the spartan warrior is in the middle of
the jungle, being watched by a predator or that he is
trapped in the heart of the jungle, the heart being the
glowing red behind him.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I will use the different use of colour and saturation to create a
good image that stands out from other posters and/or
magazines.
– My mast head will be made by getting a similar font to the
picture shown on the front cover.
– My magazine is always for entertainment only.
– I plan to use a number of tools like the hue/saturation tool or
the colour mixer to make my front cover more colourful and
interesting.
– I will also create my mast head using 2 different gaming devices
to swap in for a letter. For example, a three handled joystick
turned 90 degrees anticlockwise to form the shape of an E.
