There are five stages of group development in which a team passes through: Forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. The group for
this case study is currently, 1 week before the due date, in both the norming stage and performing stage. They have adapted to the absence of Mike
and are motivated to finish the analysis in an effort to achieve a good grade. Each member has completed their part except Mike, who has just handed

One solution, for the primary problem of Mike missing meetings and being left out of the group, would be to explain the situation to Professor
Sandra. Christine could have approached Sandra to explain that Mike had been very distant and not cooperating with meetings. There are limited
things that Sandra could have done; however at least she would have been informed and understood. The pros to approaching the professor could
have been to possibly get Mike on the right track and take the responsibility off the team. The professor could have made arrangements or provided
guidance for Mike if he explained his problems about class, work, and his girlfriend early on. They may have been granted an extension or could
have had a group meeting during class. The cons of this solution would be that Mike would think Christine was a tattle tale and he could get angry
at the group and become more distant. Professor Sandra could have also told the group to find a way to work it out and/or pick up his slack. A group
project means that each member performs their part, so approaching the professor would have informed Sandra of the lack of effort on Mike's behalf

How To Panhellenic Delegate In Sorority?
Running a chapter has many complex parts, and every one this year has done an excellent job by playing their individual roles to allow this chapter to
run smoothly. The strongest elements of our chapter are that we have special rituals ceremonies, a standout PR design, fun sisterhood events and
formals, plus I could go on and on about how amazing our philanthropy events are. Also, Erin Kenney has done a great job as Panhellenic Delegate.
She has kept the chapter informed and has made changes to panny point requirements that I feel will have a positive effect on this chapter.
Areas that I feel we could focus on are the operations of the chapter, new members, and external relationships. Currently, if these parts could run more

Which respect to panny point, what happens if girls go to more than two? I feel like we need to evaluate the system of how we keep track of point
in order to tell which girls in our chapter are going to the most events. Once we figure out a system I think we should create some sort of incentive to
give them that way members have something to look forward to. The incentive would be a nice way to acknowledge the members that took time to
support other philanthropies and gain us more points. Finally, the matter of Panhellenic run events, I feel like in meetings leading up to the events
someone has to ask questions like "will there be enough seats and does everyone get the same base number of seats". If I was delegate I would be more
willing to ask questions and propose solutions. For example this year's Miss Panhellenic I would have suggested that every sorority should already
have a pre–blocked off section that Panhellenic decides and give the delegates a max number of people that can go from each sorority that way we
don't run into this problems of too many girls showing up. I hope to fix these issues if made Panhellenic delegate.

Introduction The six students in the Asian Learning Center had the opportunity to intern at Neighborhood House. Each of students was given the
privilege to work in different departments. The six students were able to work in the Food Market together to assist clients with assessments in the
intake room. The opportunity to work together in the Food Market, gave us the opportunity to share similar experiences with clients; the six students
decided to focus their research project on the Food Market. There were obstructs that happened in the group, but the support from instructor Ellen
Holmen strengthen the group relationship. All the group member worked side by side to accomplish the research project long journey. The topic of
the group project was Bridging Cross Cultural Communication with Pictographs. There were six group members; Rema Absey, Narsa Suleman, Youa
Chang, Venessa Bjork, Jennie Labbs, and Heather Moenck. The division of labor was divided equally among all group members. Each of the group
members took part of developing the sections; introduction, literature review, finding, analysis/discussion, and discussion. There were two sections;
state the problem and methodology that was disbursed differently. Group member Youa and Heather worked on to state the problem together. The other

The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at
The Continuum, I was able to understand the meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can
transform a person's daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture and care, family issues, and many others, I was
able to transform my perspective and practice what I am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club
for "individuals who may deal with Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke Recovery, Parkinson's disease, and M.S.". This
program is fundamental in providing an array of different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours
of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person's disability can be managed and addressed using a variety of techniques and
methods, in caring for individuals.

collaborated with nursing and healthcare leadership professionals on a project to improve communication and health outcomes for a specific

Group Role Play Reflection To start off the third group session, the co–facilitators introduced themselves, welcomed the group members back and
briefly reviewed the group agreements developed in previous sessions. Afterwards the co–facilitators asked the members to participate in a check in
process by briefly vocalizing any lingering thoughts or unresolved feelings about the previous session. One of the participants who normally is very
critical of the purpose of the group and her involvement seemed to be a particularly energized mood about some of the experiences she had
encountered between sessions. The member was thanked for sharing and other group members were encouraged to share. During the first portion of
the session it became increasingly noticeable that one of the members was acting out of character by being excessively talkative and excitedly shaky as
others shared with the group. At one point there was point of confrontation when the other members accused another of coming to the session high
citing that her behavior was distracting to members and made them feel very uncomfortable to share in front of someone who in not engaged in the
session. Group participants began to challenge the high group member as to why she felt the need to come intoxicated to the group. After being

Our elected officials are sent to Washington to represent the people. In the case of the house they are there to represent the people of a certain district.
Senators are supposed to represent citizens of a certain state. They currently have no limits on how long they can serve. There are many faces in
Congress that have been there for over 20 years. I intend to explain why having the same people hold the same office is not healthy for the average
American citizen. The original intent of the Constitution was to limit government and the self–serving interests that become tyrannical by their very
nature. The fact that the founders did not include limiting terms for Congress appears to be a great oversight. The reason for this is simple. When a
person was chosen to serve during the time of the founders it was considered both and honor and a burden. The founders overlooked term limits
because at the time it was not an issue as it was not lucrative to be a member of Congress. Through devious legislation Congress has turned these
offices of service into an institution that is above the very people it was designed to serve. It has become an institution that seeks power and allows
corruption.
When one considers that the approval rate of Congress at any given time is below 30%, it would seem apparent that citizens are not happy with how

The Forgotten Group Member Group Development Working in a group to achieve a high quality group project can be one of people's most difficult
school experiences. Working in a group is tough because there is often someone who does not pull their own weight. "There are five stages to group

If Christine had the group speak about their expectations (accountability) in the Forming stage of the group than she might not have had to deal
with the Storming Stage and combating the tensions in the group throughout all stages. If these steps were followed the group may have been able
to go straight from the Forming Stage to the Norming Stage, bypassing the tension stage. Another possible solution was for Mike and Christine to
focus on their required and emergent behaviors. Required behaviors are "those formally defined and expected by the team" (John & Wiley pg
173). Emergent behaviors are "those that team members display in addition to any requirements" (John & Wiley pg 173). Mike was missing the
required behaviors and Christine the emergent behaviors. Mike didn't have the required behaviors like punctuality. He continually missed scheduled
meeting times or came late. Christine needed to reach out to Mike either by "taking the time to send an email message to an absent member to keep
him informed about what happened during a group meeting" (John & Wiley pg 174). If Christine took the time to do such actions, the inclusion
could have made Mike feel like a respected member of the group and therefore made him more involved. Reflection Overall, Christine was not an

women are present. I think that such a practice is only natural and it does not distract me from my purpose of attaining support for and learning ways

Alcoholics Anonymous is if it is better to date another member of the program, or is it better for a member of AA to date someone who is not a
member of the program. I can 't help but remember what a rehab counselor told me while I was still in early sobriety. He said that it was generally
best for members of AA to not date other members of the program, because instead of just dealing with one 's own addiction, when a member of
Alcoholics Anonymous is dating another member of the program, they are also taking on another person 's addiction problems. That theory ties – in
with the un – official rule of not being in a relationship while in the first year of one 's sobriety. What I wonder about, as I approach 11 years of

Thus far in the program I have had the opportunity to experience the process of group therapy. Luckily, I have had the opportunity to run group
sessions at my practicum site, so I have gained substantial information about the group process. As I have learned in this program, group therapy is a
powerful form of therapy that allows group members to complete their therapeutic goals in a group setting. As a therapist, I believe it is essential

The group I will use for this paper is a "Friends in Grief" support group I co–facilitated. This group met for five weeks with the members experiencing
the similarity of the death of a loved one. The purpose of the group was a safe place where people can come to heal by mourning, supporting,
encouraging, and expressing grief with others. This agency limits groups of this type to twelve members to ensure that each member is comfortable in
the small chapel in which the group is held however, this group was composed of two men and six females. All group members were Caucasian and
had lost a spouse of forty plus years. Every member of the group lived in an upscale fifty–five plus community and all had retired (or retired spouse)
from a distinguished profession with pensions. Two of the female members had identifying disabilities. The youngest female was born with a
neurological disorder and the other was hard of hearing. There was one female group member who was born and raised in Germany.
There were two prominent roles present in this group. Two of the female members never spoke unless spoken to, making them the silent members. In
the beginning of the group one of the silent members admitted she was not comfortable in a group setting, but she promised her children she would

Our next question was, "Is it common that there are people within your tribe that do not (can not or choose not to) act upon the values of silence and
listening to others?" We asked this to gain an insight into how these values were demonstrated throughout each tribe, rather than within our
interviewees individual lives. The Sioux member answered that nearly all of the members of their tribe practices these values within their daily
interactions, aside from small children who are still within the learning process. The Navajo member answered that the it's uncommon for individuals
to stray from these values, that they are strictly adhered to within his tribe. In contrast, the Cherokee member shared that it's not common for people to
violate these norms and expectations within a formal setting. For example, these norms and expectations would always be followed when talking to an
elder, someone of importance within the tribe, within school, or when speaking to someone you are unfamiliar with. However, these values become
less strict within familiar and comfortable settings, such as with friends or at home. This question provided an interesting contrast for the impression

The clubhouse houses about 35– 50 members a daily, the amount varies daily. The clubhouse has the control over who it accepts membership from.
Membership has no time limits and it's voluntary. It is open to everyone unless that person poses a significant and current treat to the safety of the
Clubhouse. There are no contracts, time schedules or rules given to members to enforce participation in clubhouse activities. They all have equal
access to every Clubhouse opportunity regardless of diagnosis or level of functioning. Members are given the right to reenter the Clubhouse after any

If I wanted a real world experience as a planner, then I certainly received it at this hearing. I can honestly say that I don't envy the Board of Zoning
Adjustments. This was the most difficult and complicated hearing we had in class and I believe everyone rose to the challenge. The amount of prep
work required for all parties greatly increased with this hearing due to the scientific nature of the proposal. All groups were sufficiently prepared and
performed exceptionally well considering the difficulty of the case. I am speaking as a BOZA member, but I believe the decision for acontinuance was
the best outcome, taking into account how the hearing played out. The applicants had a tough job. I commend them for meeting with the community
and agreeing to change the chemicals used in the process to help ease safety concerns. This created a more open dialogue between the community and
the applicant; it allowed the community to truly have their voices heard with an actual response. This did, however, create a substantial amount of
work for the applicant. Changing the process required a major increase in research in a complicated subject matter. Having to focus so much on
explaining the changed process seemed to consume the vast majority of their presentation. While correctly explaining it was important, they could've
focused more on exactly how they were meeting the Land Development Code, Cornerstone 2020's Goals, and the Ohio River Master Plan. As board

are presented below from the perspective as a member of the Social Services sector and a representative of the City Council. Furthermore, reflections
are also described in a team setting and as a leader.
Member of the Social Services Sector
My overall experience in the Leadership Simulation course was great. The group work and collaboration required in this course was unlike any course
experience I have had in the past. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and working with the other Social Service Sector members, Karen, Crystal,
Courtney, and Christopher, and I believe that forming a personal and professional relationship with the sector members played a huge role in our
interactions as a sector.
Strengths
A prominent strength of the Social Services sector was our sector structure and organization. Group structure determines the effectives of the group
(Borgatta, Bales, & Couch, 1954) and I believe from the first Collaborate session, the Social Service sector established a structure. This was achieve by
determining several group expectations that all members agreed upon, including scheduled meetings, topics for our Collaborate sessions, methods and

Christine could have approached Sandra to explain that Mike had been very distant and not cooperating with meetings. There are limited things that Sandra could have done; however at least she would have been informed and understood. The pros to approaching the professor could have been to possibly get Mike on the right track and take the responsibility off the team. The professor could have made arrangements or provided guidance for Mike if he explained his problems about class, work, and his girlfriend early on. They may have been granted an extension or could have had a group meeting during class. The cons of this solution would be that Mike would think Christine was a tattle tale and he could get angry at the group and become more distant. Running a chapter has many complex parts, and every one this year has done an excellent job by playing their individual roles to allow this chapter to run smoothly. The strongest elements of our chapter are that we have special rituals ceremonies, a standout PR design, fun sisterhood events and formals, plus I could go on and on about how amazing our philanthropy events are. Also, Erin Kenney has done a great job as Panhellenic Delegate. She has kept the chapter informed and has made changes to panny point requirements that I feel will have a positive effect on this chapter. Each of students was given the privilege to work in different departments. The six students were able to work in the Food Market together to assist clients with assessments in the intake room.   • 5. Diversity Reflection The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can transform a person's daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for "individuals who may deal with Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke Recovery, Parkinson's disease, and M.S.". This program is fundamental in providing an array of different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person's disability can be managed and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals. My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. I commend them for meeting with the community and agreeing to change the chemicals used in the process to help ease safety concerns. This created a more open dialogue between the community and the applicant; it allowed the community to truly have their voices heard with an actual response. This did, however, create a substantial amount of work for the applicant. Changing the process required a major increase in research in a complicated subject matter. Having to focus so much on explaining the changed process seemed to consume the vast majority of their presentation.
