Pods Reflection
Entry # 1 – Reflection on Introduction within Pods: This process felt rush to me seeing that I joined
the course on the 8th of January, which was the day that the post was going up onto the main board.
I decided to share a minimum amount of information about myself based on the question that was
assigned to the pod for the week's discussion. I was uncomfortable answering some of the questions
that were asked of me by other pod members in my group; before on introduction was conducted, I
was asked my age, my ethnicity and where I lived. Toby stated in his work; the tasks and skills of
the social worker across stages of group development that "...at the initial stage, the group qua group
is non–existent and therefore is a source of stress rather than support to members. The work of the
group is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whitney volunteered to be the recorder and the other pod members agreed. We did not obtain the
opportunity to review the information that Whitney recorded and posted on behalf of the group for
the reason that we were short of time to do so. Mesbur indicated that, "Time is a specialized aspect
of structure. The importance of time to effective group work practice needs to be understood. Often,
decisions regarding the length of time for a particular group are not made based upon research and
practice wisdom, but are formed in relation to trends and "fads". While time–limited methods have
been shown to be effective for many typed of populations and problems, there are some needs which
require longer term groups" (Mesbur, 2002). The importance of her insight was well received by the
group as we rushed to complete the post so that Whitney would have all of the information that she
needed to complete her recording. Whitney was efficient in connecting with every member of the
group before she posted the recordings on the main

Group Collaboration Analysis
Group work and collaboration is an opportunity for every nurse to expand their resources and make
impacts on a large scale in their community. This final project of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) has provided the opportunity to collaborate with individuals, groups and public health
organizations to address a need in the community. The following will include an assessment of the
group process utilizing the four stages of forming, storming, norming and performing as identified
by Connery and Vohs (2006). An assessment of the collaboration with the Medical Reserve Corp
and the Pierce County Health Department will also be evaluated. My personal roles and
contributions will be discussed along with my perception of the group and partnerships ... Show

Before the group begins discussing the project, everyone has a chance to discuss any personal
stories or information they want to share. Personal information has included birthdays, impending
births and how everyone spent their weekends. Even though the group members were fairly
acquainted, this has provided opportunities for further relationship development. Connery and Vohs
(2006) comment that groups attempt to alleviate tensions or anxiety by diving into the project and
bypassing relationships. By spending a little time at the beginning of each meeting, our group have
been able to work through any existing anxiety and gain insight into what is important and
influential to the other group

Media Impact Of Print Media
Print media is one of the most powerful and cost effective medium to transfer information and
knowledge. The print media industry in India is over century old. Additionally it is a settled industry.
This industry basically involves publishing daily papers and magazines. India has the second biggest
population and one of the fastest developing economies on the planet. Along with these the
expanding level of income of people groups and the strong rivalry in this industry help print media
in its development. Makers are expanding step by step, new readers from outside India is likewise a
factor of intense competition. Indian readers prefers Hindi magazinescompared to English
magazines. On account of Times group the readership of Hindi Femina is higher when compared
with English magazines. Ernst and Young said in their study report "Indian magazine segment:
Navigating new development roads", it has been said that out of the 20 most read magazines in
India, just three magazines are in English, while the remaining are in Hindi and other regional
languages. This review additionally said that more than 300 million literate people don't read any
publications. As per ArcGate, the sensational impacts of internet and globalization in current
situation are playing high effect on media industry. Indeed, even individuals are presently
consuming news and data from web through computers or mobiles, the fame of print media is not

My Time At Rz Financial Group
Before starting this internship, I always know I never could be well enough to prepare myself for an
accounting internship. My time at RZ Financial Group ("RZ") taught me more about accounting
than any classes and projects in school, since it was not only focus on technical skills of accounting,
but also brought me to the business world, helped me understand different cultural, provide me
opportunities to make international friends.
RZ has an open platform where there is no bias towards any race, religion and language. Having an
open platform is important as it helps to create a harmonious working environment. RZ has 28 staff
from 4 different nations and 3 partners, covering four states in United States and an oversea office in
China. What makes RZ Financial Group different from any CPA firms is that it is sustainable–grown
oriented. Building on proactive client servicing and geographical spread enables RZ Financial
Group to provide value–added services to local clients. Customer relationship management is very
important in RZ Financial Group. RZ has over 70% renew–contract–rate and owners of the
companies I helped with their cooperation tax return are also the client of our individual tax return.
Tax service is a sort of a true love to me. I made a few detours to find what the true love is like most
of people. I took an assistant position for one year and half when I was in China, therefore I think I
should find some job that I can use my experiences. Also, I used to be

The effects of coffee on reaction time in a group of Swinburne nursing students
Abstract
This experiment studied the effects of caffeine on the reaction time of a number of students. It was
done with 12 individuals who all selected their own source of caffeine to use for the testing. The
three main caffeine sources were V energy drink, coffee and red bull. The reaction times of these
students were recorded before and after drinking the caffeine in order to obtain results on the effect
that caffeine had on the individual. This was done by using an online reaction test where students
were to click on a button each time the green traffic light appeared. The results indicated significant
differences in the reaction times of the students' pre and post caffeine intake. Therefore, the
experiment showed that caffeine did have an impact on the reaction time of the student after
consuming caffeine. This report allows comparison of the mean scores of the 12 groups using tables
and graphs to clearly indicate the differentiation of each result.

Final Report Real Time Interactive Group Project
Final Report Real Time Interactive group project
Introduction
For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of Danger Noodle
will be discussed.
Methodology
For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a
system akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group was the project manager
and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self–motivation to complete the project. To
aid with completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the
requirements, and then each member of the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the
year. The main reason such a free and unstructured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to
complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a few unmotivated people can
bring the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the
project with some group members not producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced
if the work been assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one
thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of
examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this flat management is new to
the games industry and so the group might make some mistakes that others can learn from in the
future who want to use the same structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a
flat management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski, & Orlowski , 2016)
(18:25–19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as there is a small team of people
who are all self–motivated to complete the parts of the game they are working on. As we were

Personal Reflection
In the Organizational Behavior class (BMAL 500), I took a personality test online and found out that
my personality type is Extravert– Sensing– Thinking– Judging (ESTJ), although I had a marginal
preference of extraversion over introversion. Basically in certain situations I can be either an
extravert or introvert. I like structure and am very organized. I tend to cope pretty well with the
stressors of life and do not allow stress to bog me down. My supervisor would describe me as
dependable. I have worked in groups many times and on many different occasions. While I was
growing up, I played many sports like soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and track. All of which
required team efforts. In my current civilian job working in the Department of Defense, there are
times where an integrated product team will need to be setup in order to identify or resolve issues
related to Army Acquisition programs or providing information to Congress or Senior Executive
Service personnel. In addition, I have worked in groups in my MBA classes at Liberty Online. While
working in these groups, I have generally found that everyone wants to succeed and do well. In one
of my past groups, I felt like one of the team members had a hard time following a rubric. Needless
to say, our group had to continually correct the same mistakes over and over again from that group
members' submissions. No one on this Earth is perfect; however I would expect someone to learn
from previous mistakes. Notwithstanding, it is somewhat inevitable to get away from working in
groups. Communication Expectations Communication is very key while working in groups,
especially one where the setting is online. Each team member should try to check the Group
Discussion Board daily. From my previous group experiences with Liberty Online, the groups I have
been in have not utilized conference calls. Communication was through online chats and emails. The
Group Discussion Board should be used to submit responses, ask questions, or provide ideas.
Behavioral Expectations In order to be successful in completing the project the group should do
many things. We should communicate what each person needs to do, so that there is no
misunderstandings.

The Validity Of Aphorism
There exists a common phenomenon in my high school that whenever someone forgot to bring his
ruler and one of his classmates kindly lent him once, he would probably not bring his ruler ever after
and kept borrowing from other classmates. This is widely accepted as and explained by the
aphorism "Give a man an inch and he'll take a mile", which indicates that when you are generous to
someone, he will demand more. In other words, this saying points out that people are never satisfied.
In fact, not only does this aphorism have implications in our daily lives, it also shed light on a
broader context in social science such as unemployment insurance policy. In order to determine the
validity of this aphorism in the society today, we could conduct an experiment targeting the college
students who are randomly assigned into two groups, and examine how they would respond
differently after they received a different endowment of money.

Boeing´s Program to Reduce Stress Essay
Research study: Boeing's top executives in Seattle, WA implemented a program to reduce job stress.
Two groups (Managers and Employees) with two different conditions (time in therapy, e.g., 2
times/week and 4 times/week). The study will measure the stress level reduction with the use of
stress therapy (aromatherapy with essential oils). Ornelas & Kleiner (2003) mention "Aromatherapy
– means "treatment using scents" a holistic treatment of caring for the body with pleasant smelling
botanical oils that are added to your bath or massaged into your skin.

assumptions include that the data are interval or ratio and that the population distribution of scores is
symmetrical.
Study Design: Independent variable: managers and employees
Variable (Dependent): managers and employees reduced stress levels (aromatherapy)
The type of t–Test is level to the variance, the independent t–test two groups are discrete and is

Social and Formal Groups Comparison
Social and Formal Groups Comparison Debra Mallery SOC/120 – Sociology May 24, 2012
Kimberley Stephens Social and Formal Groups Comparison There are some obvious difference
between a lady's church group and the local Ruritan. The first requirement in belong to a lady
church group is you go to that church and you are a woman. The requirement to joining the local
Ruritan is fist to live in the local area of the group. The next in joining the Ruritan is you have to fill
out an application and it has to be approved by the board members then they say yes or no to you
then the members of the Ruritan have to vote on you joining the group. The next main difference is

Yes they both help the community but the Ruritan runs more on rules and how others see them in the
community. Another difference is most of the time you may communicate with the members in a
lady's group more than a Ruritan outside of a meeting. This is because women like talk more than
men in most cases. Another difference is a lady's group may be close to the members because they
are more open to others then men. Many times men join a local Ruritan to help with some of the
sporting activities. Here where I live our Ruritan also has horse shows to raise money for the
community. The Ruritan group may be well known outside the community because of the work that
they do helping others. One of the main reasons the media recognizes the Ruritan more than a lady's
group because they have more member active in the whole community instead just surrounding the
church. When it come to the leadership of both of these have one main leader over the whole group.
This person helps keeps the group working together toward the same goal of help the community.

Strong And Weak Identifiers
According to the author, national identity is inherently social and is centered on people's strong bond
and sense of community with their fellow group members. People are placed into national groups
either by choice or by default. The strength of the person's membership depends on the level of
commitment they feel towards the national group. The level of commitment divides group members
into strong and weak identifiers. Group members of a national group that care about the group's
well–being are considered strong identifiers. These members are strongly committed and often see
their national group membership as part of their sense of self. Strong identifiers hold and follow
group norms so they can be the best prototype for their national identity. ... Show more content on

Strong identifiers are treated more fairly when they are seen as the prototype of the group. Their
opinions about their group are highly valued and taken into consideration between all of the
members. Because of their high commitment to their group, strong identifiers remain loyal though
hard times and times of doubt. They want to protect the group's image by focusing on the positive
aspects. When faced with negative information about their group, these members will defend their
group's actions and criticisms in order to protect the group image.
Group members do not tolerate weak identifier's criticisms. Their criticisms of their group are often
not listened to and disregarded by members who have stronger commitments. This could be because
weak identifiers do not share the same level of loyalty as strong identifiers. Weak identifiers care
less about the groups image and do not feel a strong need to defend the group.
I consider myself a strong identifier in being an American. I would say that I fit the typical
stereotype of an American. I support the choices Americans make and remain loyal even through the
bad decisions. When natural disasters or unexpected tragedies happen in America, I feel instant
empathy towards everyone that was effected, even if I have never met them. I see every American
and myself as one big community. Being an American has always been a part of my identity and I

Naturalistic Observation Of Student 's A Coffee Line
Naturalistic Observation of Student's in a Coffee Line In the United States, 85% of adults own a cell
phone, with 18 to 24 year olds texting the most (Zickuhr, 2011). Of these adults, 67% reported that
they check their phone even if they do not hear it ringing, 44% sleep with the phone beside their
bed, and 29% reported they could not live without their cell phone (Smith, 2012). In addition,
according to the Baylor University report, studies show that young adults check their phone an
average of 60 times a day. This study examined cell phone use among university students that were
alone and in a group. Specifically, we were interested in observing whether students alone in a
coffee line or students in a group in a coffee line, spent more or less time on their cell phone. We
were also interested to observe if gender affected cell phone usage and whether males or females
were more likely to be in a group. The purpose of this study was to determine if university students
that are alone spend more or less time on their phone than students that are in a group. We also
examined if gender was an important factor on whether a student was in a group or alone. Using
naturalistic observation, we calculated the amount of time individual students were on their phone
per three minute time interval. The hypothesis was that students alone in a coffee line would spend
the most time on their phone. We also predicted that women were more likely than men to be in a
group.

Stand By Me (movie Review For Small Group Com) Essay
A Summer To Remember
The movie Stand By Me is based upon a novel by Steven King. It doesn't have the same eerie feel as
some of his other books and is generally a more serious movie. It takes place in the small town of
Castle Rock, Oregon. It is the middle of the summer in approximately the early 1960's. The kids are
bored and that is the setup for their adventure to go find a dead body in the woods.
The main role of Gordie LaChance is played by Wil Wheaton. He is having trouble in his life at this

Vern whines that it means they are all doomed and should go back. Vern also slows the group when
he refuses to go into the woods away from the tracks towards the trail. He then plays the role of
backseat driver (class notes) when they reach the swamp saying, "I told you we should have kept
following the train tracks". Vern hindered the development of the group. While they could have been
devoting time to the task at hand, they had to spend time helping him with trivial things like dealing
with him being scared when they are in the woods. While Vern slowed the group by challenging
many of the group's ideas, Teddy presented a much different challenge to the group.
Teddy is described in the beginning as being reckless and wild. He holds to that description right in
the beginning with two crazy incidents. When they leave in the beginning and are walking on the
train tracks, Teddy goes a little bit nuts and says he is going to dodge the train. It takes the entire
group to pull him away from the train tracks before the train comes. Teddy also becomes difficult
when the run away from the old man in the junkyard. When the old man calls his father "looney"
Teddy flips out. He starts kicking and punching even though he's on the other side of the fence. This
remains a problem with the group because they have to spend time comforting him before they get

Support Group That I Had Been At The Same Time
For this assignment I chose to go to a support group that I had been to before. I chose to do this
because I wanted to see what would change or what the differences, were between this time and the
first time I had went to this meeting. This assignment was very interesting and very difficult for me
at the same time. The main reason it was so difficult for me, was I still am not driving too often. So
this setback gave me more hurtles to jump over and through, just so I could get to a meeting.
Because of this I really struggled trying to find a support group that would actually allow me to
attended meetings at the times were people were available to drive me. Then once again it hit me,
like before, I finely asked my friend if her mother who is a nurse could help me out. My friend's
mother said yes. She knew of a caregiver group a caregiver group for cancer and was even willing to
drive me to the group. The only terms were that I would feel out a paper saying I agreed to the
conditions of the group. And the information shard in the meeting at no circumstances was to be
talked about outside the group. For this assignment I attended the Cancer Caregivers Support Group
in the clinical center at Froedtert Hospital. The meeting took place on October 22nd 2016 at night
5:30pm to 7:00pm at night. This caregiver group was a group of fifteen to twenty people who
specifically were planning on becoming a caregiver for a family member who was battling cancer.

Group Observation Strategies
Ellie is a 14–year–old 9th grader. Ellie just moved from a small town in Oklahoma to Phoenix,
Arizona. Ellie has an older sister, and two younger brothers. Ellie loves art, and can be found
doodling all the time. Ellie also likes to listen to music, and has her headphones in whenever she has
the opportunity. Ellie likes to keep to herself, and doesn't often talk with other students. Ellie does
really well at completing work independently, and tests on grade level. I am worried about Ellie,
because her introverted behavior is beginning to cause disruptions with other classmates. Group
work is required in my class, and not talking with others in class is affecting her grade. Other
students do not want to work with Ellie, because she doesn't talk with others or "pull her weight" in

behavior. I think this would work well for Ellie, because it would raise her social status with her
peers. Her peers would become encouragers for her. This could also help Ellie connect with her
peers, and build positive relationships. If effective, this strategy will help Ellie increase her

Compare And Contrast Mongols And Aztecs
As time went on, groups changed, emerged, and disappeared. As this essay progresses, I will be
comparing and contrasting the Mongols and the Aztecs. Both of these groups were very similar,
based on their war dispositions such as their views on ways to gain power and land. As both of these
groups progresses they both had many similarities, they both had just as many differences regarding
their religious, war/conquest and economic views.
The Aztecs were very advanced for their time period. As many groups emerged during this time
period, the Aztecs were one of the most powerful empires of this day and age. The Aztecs were liked
by many, but in turn were disliked by many others. They were mainly disliked because of their ritual
of human sacrifice. Their religious beliefs included the worship of the Sun, which they believed the
Sun would rise and set only by the sacrifice of another human. The Mongols on the other hand, had
first started as pagan and then converted to Islamic beliefs. The Aztecs were also monotheistic
where the Mongols had many different religions throughout their empire. This caused the Aztecs to
be a more unified group, unlike the Mongols, who became more separated and divided by religion.
The similarities between these two groups based on religion, were that they did not destroy other
groups based on religion. Another difference between the Mongols and the Aztecs were their views
on conquests and wars. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of these empires. The final difference between these two groups is their view on economy and their

Group Dynamics Paper
The usage of theories to explain certain human behaviors in groups is based on many factors
including what type of group, the groups goals, and what theory or theories are used to explain these
functions. While theories are used to closely examine groups as one and the individuals in groups
this paper will focus on both aspects to understand human dynamics as a group while still retaining
the individual within that group. In this paper we were divided into groups to reach the goal of

Why Do We Need to Understand Group Dynamics to Understand...
I. Introduction To understand Organizational Behavior and Management, we must study three
different levels. The first is the individual level, because every individual has its own unique
perception of the world and what surrounds him. Individuals behave following how they interpret
this and their environment. Each individual is different from the next one, because of its personality
and characteristics. However, it's possible to organize them by categorizing their perceptions.
Categories such as Appearance, Social behavior and Status are often considered. Individual's
motivations must be analyzed to understand the next level : the Group. A Group is composed by 2 or

harm the group cohesiveness. If group are too large, people tend to work more by themselves ("Free
riding") rather than with the whole group, or create smaller teams within the group. c) Group norms.
Norms are acceptable standards of behavior within a group that are shared by the members of the
group. Norms define the limits of what is acceptable and what is not in terms of behavior. They are
typically imagined in order to facilitate group survival, make behavior more predictable, avoid
embarrassing situations, and express the values of the group. Each group will establish its own set of
norms that may determine anything from the appropriate clothes to wear at a dinner to how many
comments to make in a meeting. Groups pressure members to force them to conform to the group's
standards. The norms often reflect the level of commitment, motivation, and performance of the
group. The majority of the members of the group must agree that the norms are appropriate

Reflective Group Dynamics Essay
Each individual is categorized into a group from the day they were conceived. According to Kozier
et al (2010) a group is "two are more people who have shared need and goals, who taken each other
in account in their and who, thus, are held together and set apart from others by virtue of their
interaction" (p. 400). The communicate that takes place between members of the group is group
dynamic (Kozier et al, 2010). Motivation for participation and similarity of other group members
and the goals of the group will affect the group dynamic (Kozier et al, 2010). The type of group that
was created was a task group and Kozier et al (2010) stated that "the focus for such group is

When doing so the other group members were active listener, by using their whole body verbally
and nonverbal. Like facing the speaker and giving eye contact and try to avoided interruption. The
group also acknowledges the thoughts of the speaker by giving constructive feed back. Due to the
effectiveness of the group communication, we were able to build trust, respect and understand the
issues and make decision for effective change. We illustrate this by coming together as a group one
again to accomplish the goal we initially wanted to accomplish. Since the first organization that we
had chosen was incorrect, so we had to make the necessary changes to accomplish our goals. The
other effective feature is the purpose of the group. Kozier et al (2010) stated that the effective group
purpose is when "goal, task, and outcomes are clarified. Understanding and modified so that
members of the group can commit themselves to purposes through cooperation" (p.401). For
instance, each individual was assign a task and knew what was to be accomplished. As group we all
decided to meet at suitable day and time which was beneficial to all team members, because we
could commit to the group and focus on what needed to be achieved. Even though the group had a
lot of effective features, it wasn't smooth sailing all the time. The team also had ineffective features
like the atmosphere and power. According to Kozier et al (2010) an ineffective group atmosphere

Mousetrap Car Research
The mousetrap car, Versace, was tested multiple times to test how far it went. When constructing the
car, the group members had different ideas, but all ideas were put into the construction of the car.
The car was tested with CDs as wheels and then paper plates as wheels. Each time, when testing the
car, the axle gearing had different measurements and distances. The group had finally gotten the best
distance on the car. The group was also able to find the kinetic energy of the boat. Then the data
from the tests were used to find the efficiency of the car. Overall, the car did very well. When
constructing the mousetrap car, each team member had different ideas. The group considered each
idea and included it into the construction of the car. Some team members wanted to test friction, by
switching the wheels of the car. The group would test CD wheels and paper plate wheels. The group
also wanted to test the axle gearing. The group wanted to test this to see if the speed would

Methodology
Sample and Participants
For the purposes of this study, the method used to select participants was convenience sampling.
Therefore, 30 students from the University of the Ozarks located in Clarksville, Arkansas, were
selected to participate in the study. The ages of the students ranged between 18 and 25 years. In
order to conduct this study, a control group and an experimental group were created consisting of 15
members each. The first group was the experimental group where the participants were required to
own an iPhone and download an app. The second group was the control group where participants
owned any type of smartphones and did not have to download a specific app. The reason students

At the end of the 24–hour period, the students recorded the amount of time they actually used their
smartphone according to the Moment app. This procedure was performed for two days. At the end
of the second day, these students completed the post–test. The post–test consisted of three questions
based on the Likert Scale. The first question asked whether their estimations matched those of the
app; the second question asked whether they were surprised with the results; the last one, questioned
their likeliness of changing their cellphone use. The control group, on the other hand, only
completed a pre–test consisting of a two–question survey, which asked the students whether they
were aware of the time they spent on their smartphones and whether they were likely to change the
amount of time spent on their smartphones.
Results
Control Group A total of 30 students participated in the study, 15 downloaded the Moment app and
15 only estimated the amount of time spent on smartphones. Both groups obtained interesting
results. Firstly, the results of the study showed that people in the experimental group estimated using
their iPhone less than the students in the control group. Correspondingly, as observed in appendix
VI, the first group had a median estimation of 159 hours, while the second group had a median
estimation of 298.47 hours. When asked whether students were likely to change their smartphone

Gun Control In Society
Gun Control/Issues in Today's Society In today's society, there is plenty to talk about. Whether it be
about the President, the weather change, there is always something to talk about. One of the major
issues that has been talked about for an extended period of time is gun control and the issues that
follow it. There are two specific articles that were chosen today; one of which from the Chicago Sun
Times website, and the other from the New York Times. The issues following gun control have been
very outrageous in my opinion. Let us talk about the city of Chicago, for instance. Chicago is known
for its dangers. Being one of the most dangerous cities throughout the entire United States of
America, gun violence has been a major issue over the years. As much as people say it will get
better, things only get worse. In the Chicago Sun Times article, we take a look at how this issue was
attempted to be solved. From the year of 2013 until present day, more than 7,000 weapons were
collected each year. Chicago, to most people, is considered to be the murder capital of the U.S. Most
of the murders were committed by guns. This is extremely sad, because think about all of the
innocent lives that were taken; mothers, children, you name it. One of the main things that
contribute to most of the gun violence is the fact that the city of Chicago has many gangs. Gang
members will do everything and anything they can to make sure they hurt their rivals, regardless of
the outcome.

Symptoms Of Group Meeting

group had been successful in achieving its primary purpose and goals is that each member was able
to accomplish their own personal they set up in the beginning of the group. By observing how much
they have learn with each other and using the techniques that were provide it in the group will
indicate they were able to meet their goal. Another symptom of achieving the purpose of group is
belief in themselves. Belief is very important because if they belief in themselves they will be able
to be successful in anyway because they are not doubting themselves. The last symptoms of

Working Well And How Group Project If There Is A Chance...
Based on the small group that I joined in communication class, I will talk about what is working
well and what is getting in the way in our group. Then I will discuss about what I can do to improve
the group and the things about group project if there is a chance for a start over again. At last, I am
also going to talk about what I think that I learned is important lesson in this semester.
First of all, the things that were working well is about our different roles. We have five people in our
group and two girls with three boys. For example, three boys are the "Maintenance roles" to "help
the group run smoothly" (99). To be more specific, they are always talking to each other to check
when we have any group works due. They also mentioned to us if there was any individual
homework due. These are the roles for keeping the group on track. On the other hand, two girls were
more like "task roles" and were "to help get the job done" (98). We are always divided works for our
group members to finish our group projects. We also will contact every group members before our
group meetings to make sure they finish their own works. Therefore, having different roles is the
thing that we are working well. Then what is getting in the way is about our group meeting is on
time now. When we just met each other first time, we did not know each other very well. We are
kind of unconcern so most of us late for the first group meeting. However, when we talked to each

I Volunteer Full Time For A Non Profit Animal Rescue Group
I volunteer full time for a non–profit animal rescue group called "Dogs 2nd Chance." This
organization established in 2007 has fostered and found new homes for over 500 dogs locally, up the

Groups were told to design a prototype which wold be able be used by a library as a computer
system. The aim of this report was to show the factors that led to the group failing to carry out this
tasks. The factors that caused this to happen were time mismanagement, bad project planning and
poor communication. Factors that lead to a group failing a project was chosen as the topic of the
report so problems that led to the group failing could be identified and understood in a way that
would prevent group members from making the same mistakes in any future projects. These factors
can be avoided by using planning resources and steady communication through Email services and
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this was during the design specification stage of the project. The group ended up
getting very low scores because of the way the project was carried out. The work was not evenly
shared out between the group members and all group members did not meet up regularly to see who
had done which stage of the project. One group member ended up doing most of the task including
the story design, the Entity relationship diagram, most of the use case descriptions and the structured
English because the other group members did not understand how to do these part of the projects.
This led to the group getting very low scores in all these sections as the individual who carried out
most of the tasks was not able to fully focus on each section and develop them to an adequate level.
This could have been avoided if the group had planned the project well because the weaknesses of
individual members could have been discussed earlier and the person who understood the work
could have showed the other members of the group how to carry out the various task they did not
understand and this would have helped the group avoid failing this stage of the project. Poor project
management is also harmful to a group chances of passing a project because it also leads to a lack of
communication as group members would not be able

The Importance Of Communicating And People Understand...
Communication has always been a up and down aspect in my life. I believe communicating is the
purpose of receiving and giving information to others, but I also believe that communicating is a
way of expressing yourself to the rest of the world. I do understand that others have greater levels of
communicating and people understand communication differently. I have experienced both of these
aspects of communication in groups I have been part of. Personally, I prefer to work in a group
setting rather than as an individual. I like the support, experiences, and even friendships that evolve
from group work. I believe that group communication helps to create a memorable and positive
outcome for the task rather than doing it independently. I have been apart of many "groups"
throughout my high school and college years and I have enjoyed and learned many different things
from each one. One group in particular in which I learned a lot and was able to gain many skills was
from my "core group". I was a New Student Orientation Assistant (NSOA) when entering my
sophomore year at Eastern. NSOAs assist the new students with their transition to Eastern. There
were over 150 of us students that were divided into core groups. I was with my core group for five
days and with them throughout those days for more than 12 hours. Through those long training days,
we learned a lot about one another. As a group, we bonded and were able to successfully complete
the First Four training and orientation.

Reflective Reflection : Reflective Thinking
This self–reflection will incorporate the 4R's model of reflective thinking in order for my reflections
to be properly structured. The overall group project was a good experience for me, and provided me
a great opportunity to work with people from different cultures. Although these people were from
different cultures, I knew each group member before this assignment and had worked with the
majority of them previously. Therefore, I respected all the group member's and the skills, strengths
and weaknesses they brought to our group. Because of my established relationship with all
members, I felt that I was able to be honest in my assessment of their work without being perceived
as bossy or creating conflict. The aim for all of us was to do very well in this assignment, so our
group established a clear idea of outcomes and quality of work.
While these positive experiences made the group project easier to complete. There are still
challenges that we faced as a group. One main issue was that several group members failed to meet
deadlines that the group had set. This is relevant because we as a group needed all involved to finish
their individual parts in order to for their work to be read to implemented into the report. Failing to
submit individual parts on time makes it more difficult for me to trust group members. This is a
common issue that has happened in almost every group assignment I have undertaken. I found that
communication with these group members was absolutely

Comparison Between Group D And Group C
What is seen in the data is that there is not a steady decline in the reaction time when you compare
each column to the previous or next respectively. The time increases when comparing Group A to
Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a
decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all
of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT
when looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical
significance in some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence
level. The difference from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is
compared to each other, the probability (P–Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference
between the two. From Group B to Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P–
Value of 0.4698. This is not a statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal
outcome. Group C and Group D has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw
data, there is no significant difference with a P–Value of 0.0833. Group D to Group E is a 0.1252

Ethnic minority disadvantage in the labour market
This research explores differences between ethnic groups in labour market participation
(unemployment, employment and hours worked) and employment status (low, mid and high skilled
occupation levels) for those in work.
It examines whether there is 'clustering' into particular occupations for some ethnic groups, and
looks at how much geography matters for employment and job status for different ethnic groups.
This paper finds that:
In terms of unemployment, the overwhelming picture is one of continuing ethnic minority
disadvantage compared with the White British majority group;
There is a considerable difference in unemployment rates between places for each ethnic group, as
well as between ethnic groups; and
Ethnic inequalities between groups have persisted over time.
Summary
Summary
Key points
Ethnic inequalities in labour market participation have persisted over time; between 2001 and 2011,
there remained considerable differences between ethnic groups in employee, self– employed, and
unemployment rates. In terms of unemployment, the overwhelming picture is one of continuing
ethnic minority disadvantage compared with the White British majority group.
There is considerable variability in unemployment rates between places for each ethnic group, as
well as between ethnic groups.

Communication Within The United States Marine Corps
To be early, is to be on time, to be on time, is to be late, and to be late, is out of the question. Being
able to adhere to a given deadline in a group situation, demonstrates responsibility, time
management, group cohesion, and progress. However, being that a group is a collection of
individuals with separate lives, there are times when members of the group may be experiencing
extenuating circumstances preventing the group from completing a task on time. In such a scenario,
communication within the chain of command is essential. Failing to communicate problems that
may arise, and inhibit group progression towards a task will result in failure to communicate the
task, group division, distrust between the chain of command and the group, ... Show more content

In a military situation, lack of communication can result in the loss of lives, or failure to accomplish
a goal as the power and upper hand is now in the hands of the force that was better prepared. In our
specific situation, failing to communicate issues that arise prior to assignment completion will make
the group ill prepared to deal with the burden of new assignments, and lead us subject to punishment
at any time. The constant threat of punishment, or attack from a lack of communication leads the
group to be in a disorganized state and make careless mistakes out of emotion. Secondly,
communicating an issue prior to a deadline develops trust between a group and those in charge of
the group. In the military this is very apparent. In fact, the United States Marine Corps has a whole
sector of marines who are trained in a skillset called communications. Comm. Marines sole task to
relay, and update information between Marines on a mission and the chain of command. The
Marines on the mission develop trust and reliance amongst each other because they know that
should they lose the upper hand in battle, communication Marines can relay this information and
call in reinforcements to take back the fight, and allow the ground Marines to continue their mission.
In a group scenario such as ours, trust is essential to group development and progress. If we are

Pods Reflection

  • 1. Pods Reflection Entry # 1 – Reflection on Introduction within Pods: This process felt rush to me seeing that I joined the course on the 8th of January, which was the day that the post was going up onto the main board. I decided to share a minimum amount of information about myself based on the question that was assigned to the pod for the week's discussion. I was uncomfortable answering some of the questions that were asked of me by other pod members in my group; before on introduction was conducted, I was asked my age, my ethnicity and where I lived. Toby stated in his work; the tasks and skills of the social worker across stages of group development that "...at the initial stage, the group qua group is non–existent and therefore is a source of stress rather than support to members. The work of the group is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whitney volunteered to be the recorder and the other pod members agreed. We did not obtain the opportunity to review the information that Whitney recorded and posted on behalf of the group for the reason that we were short of time to do so. Mesbur indicated that, "Time is a specialized aspect of structure. The importance of time to effective group work practice needs to be understood. Often, decisions regarding the length of time for a particular group are not made based upon research and practice wisdom, but are formed in relation to trends and "fads". While time–limited methods have been shown to be effective for many typed of populations and problems, there are some needs which require longer term groups" (Mesbur, 2002). The importance of her insight was well received by the group as we rushed to complete the post so that Whitney would have all of the information that she needed to complete her recording. Whitney was efficient in connecting with every member of the group before she posted the recordings on the main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following will include an assessment of the group process utilizing the four stages of forming, storming, norming and performing as identified by Connery and Vohs (2006). An assessment of the collaboration with the Medical Reserve Corp and the Pierce County Health Department will also be evaluated. My personal roles and contributions will be discussed along with my perception of the group and partnerships ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the group begins discussing the project, everyone has a chance to discuss any personal stories or information they want to share. Personal information has included birthdays, impending births and how everyone spent their weekends. Even though the group members were fairly acquainted, this has provided opportunities for further relationship development. Connery and Vohs (2006) comment that groups attempt to alleviate tensions or anxiety by diving into the project and bypassing relationships. By spending a little time at the beginning of each meeting, our group have been able to work through any existing anxiety and gain insight into what is important and influential to the other group ... • 13. My Time At Rz Financial Group Before starting this internship, I always know I never could be well enough to prepare myself for an accounting internship. My time at RZ Financial Group ("RZ") taught me more about accounting than any classes and projects in school, since it was not only focus on technical skills of accounting, but also brought me to the business world, helped me understand different cultural, provide me opportunities to make international friends. RZ has an open platform where there is no bias towards any race, religion and language. Having an open platform is important as it helps to create a harmonious working environment. RZ has 28 staff from 4 different nations and 3 partners, covering four states in United States and an oversea office in China. What makes RZ Financial Group different from any CPA firms is that it is sustainable–grown oriented. Building on proactive client servicing and geographical spread enables RZ Financial Group to provide value–added services to local clients. Customer relationship management is very important in RZ Financial Group. RZ has over 70% renew–contract–rate and owners of the companies I helped with their cooperation tax return are also the client of our individual tax return. Tax service is a sort of a true love to me. I made a few detours to find what the true love is like most of people. I took an assistant position for one year and half when I was in China, therefore I think I should find some job that I can use my experiences. Also, I used to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Apply Research Skills in Contemporary Work Environment Assessment 2: Conducting a research study The effects of coffee on reaction time in a group of Swinburne nursing students Abstract This experiment studied the effects of caffeine on the reaction time of a number of students. It was done with 12 individuals who all selected their own source of caffeine to use for the testing. The three main caffeine sources were V energy drink, coffee and red bull. The reaction times of these students were recorded before and after drinking the caffeine in order to obtain results on the effect that caffeine had on the individual. This was done by using an online reaction test where students were to click on a button each time the green traffic light appeared. The results indicated significant differences in the reaction times of the students' pre and post caffeine intake. Therefore, the experiment showed that caffeine did have an impact on the reaction time of the student after consuming caffeine. This report allows comparison of the mean scores of the 12 groups using tables and graphs to clearly indicate the differentiation of each result. • 21. Final Report Real Time Interactive Group Project Final Report Real Time Interactive group project Introduction For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of Danger Noodle will be discussed. Methodology For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a system akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self–motivation to complete the project. To aid with completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the year. The main reason such a free and unstructured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the project with some group members not producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller. A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this flat management is new to the games industry and so the group might make some mistakes that others can learn from in the future who want to use the same structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski, & Orlowski , 2016) (18:25–19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as there is a small team of people who are all self–motivated to complete the parts of the game they are working on. As we were working in a ... • 25. Personal Reflection In the Organizational Behavior class (BMAL 500), I took a personality test online and found out that my personality type is Extravert– Sensing– Thinking– Judging (ESTJ), although I had a marginal preference of extraversion over introversion. Basically in certain situations I can be either an extravert or introvert. I like structure and am very organized. I tend to cope pretty well with the stressors of life and do not allow stress to bog me down. My supervisor would describe me as dependable. I have worked in groups many times and on many different occasions. While I was growing up, I played many sports like soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and track. All of which required team efforts. In my current civilian job working in the Department of Defense, there are times where an integrated product team will need to be setup in order to identify or resolve issues related to Army Acquisition programs or providing information to Congress or Senior Executive Service personnel. In addition, I have worked in groups in my MBA classes at Liberty Online. While working in these groups, I have generally found that everyone wants to succeed and do well. In one of my past groups, I felt like one of the team members had a hard time following a rubric. Needless to say, our group had to continually correct the same mistakes over and over again from that group members' submissions. No one on this Earth is perfect; however I would expect someone to learn from previous mistakes. Notwithstanding, it is somewhat inevitable to get away from working in groups. Communication Expectations Communication is very key while working in groups, especially one where the setting is online. Each team member should try to check the Group Discussion Board daily. From my previous group experiences with Liberty Online, the groups I have been in have not utilized conference calls. Communication was through online chats and emails. The Group Discussion Board should be used to submit responses, ask questions, or provide ideas. Behavioral Expectations In order to be successful in completing the project the group should do many things. We should communicate what each person needs to do, so that there is no misunderstandings. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Validity Of Aphorism There exists a common phenomenon in my high school that whenever someone forgot to bring his ruler and one of his classmates kindly lent him once, he would probably not bring his ruler ever after and kept borrowing from other classmates. This is widely accepted as and explained by the aphorism "Give a man an inch and he'll take a mile", which indicates that when you are generous to someone, he will demand more. In other words, this saying points out that people are never satisfied. In fact, not only does this aphorism have implications in our daily lives, it also shed light on a broader context in social science such as unemployment insurance policy. In order to determine the validity of this aphorism in the society today, we could conduct an experiment targeting the college students who are randomly assigned into two groups, and examine how they would respond differently after they received a different endowment of money. ... Two groups (Managers and Employees) with two different conditions (time in therapy, e.g., 2 times/week and 4 times/week). The study will measure the stress level reduction with the use of stress therapy (aromatherapy with essential oils). Social and Formal Groups Comparison Social and Formal Groups Comparison Debra Mallery SOC/120 – Sociology May 24, 2012 Kimberley Stephens Social and Formal Groups Comparison There are some obvious difference between a lady's church group and the local Ruritan. The first requirement in belong to a lady church group is you go to that church and you are a woman. The requirement to joining the local Ruritan is fist to live in the local area of the group. The next in joining the Ruritan is you have to fill out an application and it has to be approved by the board members then they say yes or no to you then the members of the Ruritan have to vote on you joining the group. Yes they both help the community but the Ruritan runs more on rules and how others see them in the community. Another difference is most of the time you may communicate with the members in a lady's group more than a Ruritan outside of a meeting. This is because women like talk more than men in most cases. Another difference is a lady's group may be close to the members because they are more open to others then men. Many times men join a local Ruritan to help with some of the sporting activities. Here where I live our Ruritan also has horse shows to raise money for the community. The Ruritan group may be well known outside the community because of the work that they do helping others. One of the main reasons the media recognizes the Ruritan more than a lady's group because they have more member active in the whole community instead just surrounding the church. When it come to the leadership of both of these have one main leader over the whole group. This person helps keeps the group working together toward the same goal of help the community. Social and Formal Groups Comparison That why you need one main person that has the final say on what they do in such who they decide to help in the community because you cannot help everyone even though they may need the help. • 41. Strong And Weak Identifiers According to the author, national identity is inherently social and is centered on people's strong bond and sense of community with their fellow group members. People are placed into national groups either by choice or by default. The strength of the person's membership depends on the level of commitment they feel towards the national group. The level of commitment divides group members into strong and weak identifiers. Group members of a national group that care about the group's well–being are considered strong identifiers. These members are strongly committed and often see their national group membership as part of their sense of self. Strong identifiers hold and follow group norms so they can be the best prototype for their national identity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Strong identifiers are treated more fairly when they are seen as the prototype of the group. Their opinions about their group are highly valued and taken into consideration between all of the members. Because of their high commitment to their group, strong identifiers remain loyal though hard times and times of doubt. They want to protect the group's image by focusing on the positive aspects. When faced with negative information about their group, these members will defend their group's actions and criticisms in order to protect the group image. Group members do not tolerate weak identifier's criticisms. Their criticisms of their group are often not listened to and disregarded by members who have stronger commitments. This could be because weak identifiers do not share the same level of loyalty as strong identifiers. Weak identifiers care less about the groups image and do not feel a strong need to defend the group. I consider myself a strong identifier in being an American. I would say that I fit the typical stereotype of an American. I support the choices Americans make and remain loyal even through the bad decisions. When natural disasters or unexpected tragedies happen in America, I feel instant empathy towards everyone that was effected, even if I have never met them. Naturalistic Observation Of Student 's A Coffee Line Naturalistic Observation of Student's in a Coffee Line In the United States, 85% of adults own a cell phone, with 18 to 24 year olds texting the most (Zickuhr, 2011). Of these adults, 67% reported that they check their phone even if they do not hear it ringing, 44% sleep with the phone beside their bed, and 29% reported they could not live without their cell phone (Smith, 2012). In addition, according to the Baylor University report, studies show that young adults check their phone an average of 60 times a day. This study examined cell phone use among university students that were alone and in a group. Specifically, we were interested in observing whether students alone in a coffee line or students in a group in a coffee line, spent more or less time on their cell phone. We were also interested to observe if gender affected cell phone usage and whether males or females were more likely to be in a group. The purpose of this study was to determine if university students that are alone spend more or less time on their phone than students that are in a group. We also examined if gender was an important factor on whether a student was in a group or alone. Using naturalistic observation, we calculated the amount of time individual students were on their phone per three minute time interval. The hypothesis was that students alone in a coffee line would spend the most time on their phone. We also predicted that women were more likely than men to be in a group. Method ... While they could have been devoting time to the task at hand, they had to spend time helping him with trivial things like dealing with him being scared when they are in the woods. While Vern slowed the group by challenging many of the group's ideas, Teddy presented a much different challenge to the group. Teddy is described in the beginning as being reckless and wild. He holds to that description right in the beginning with two crazy incidents. When they leave in the beginning and are walking on the train tracks, Teddy goes a little bit nuts and says he is going to dodge the train. I chose to do this because I wanted to see what would change or what the differences, were between this time and the first time I had went to this meeting. This assignment was very interesting and very difficult for me at the same time. The main reason it was so difficult for me, was I still am not driving too often. So this setback gave me more hurtles to jump over and through, just so I could get to a meeting. Because of this I really struggled trying to find a support group that would actually allow me to attended meetings at the times were people were available to drive me. Then once again it hit me, like before, I finely asked my friend if her mother who is a nurse could help me out. My friend's mother said yes. She knew of a caregiver group a caregiver group for cancer and was even willing to drive me to the group. The only terms were that I would feel out a paper saying I agreed to the conditions of the group. And the information shard in the meeting at no circumstances was to be talked about outside the group. For this assignment I attended the Cancer Caregivers Support Group in the clinical center at Froedtert Hospital. The meeting took place on October 22nd 2016 at night 5:30pm to 7:00pm at night. This caregiver group was a group of fifteen to twenty people who specifically were planning on becoming a caregiver for a family member who was battling cancer. The meeting was held in a ... I am worried about Ellie, because her introverted behavior is beginning to cause disruptions with other classmates. Both of these groups were very similar, based on their war dispositions such as their views on ways to gain power and land. As both of these groups progresses they both had many similarities, they both had just as many differences regarding their religious, war/conquest and economic views. The Aztecs were very advanced for their time period. As many groups emerged during this time period, the Aztecs were one of the most powerful empires of this day and age. The Aztecs were liked by many, but in turn were disliked by many others. They were mainly disliked because of their ritual of human sacrifice. Their religious beliefs included the worship of the Sun, which they believed the Sun would rise and set only by the sacrifice of another human. The Mongols on the other hand, had first started as pagan and then converted to Islamic beliefs. The Aztecs were also monotheistic where the Mongols had many different religions throughout their empire. This caused the Aztecs to be a more unified group, unlike the Mongols, who became more separated and divided by religion. The similarities between these two groups based on religion, were that they did not destroy other groups based on religion. Group Dynamics Paper The usage of theories to explain certain human behaviors in groups is based on many factors including what type of group, the groups goals, and what theory or theories are used to explain these functions. While theories are used to closely examine groups as one and the individuals in groups this paper will focus on both aspects to understand human dynamics as a group while still retaining the individual within that group. • 77. Why Do We Need to Understand Group Dynamics to Understand... I. Introduction To understand Organizational Behavior and Management, we must study three different levels. The first is the individual level, because every individual has its own unique perception of the world and what surrounds him. Individuals behave following how they interpret this and their environment. Each individual is different from the next one, because of its personality and characteristics. However, it's possible to organize them by categorizing their perceptions. Categories such as Appearance, Social behavior and Status are often considered. Individual's motivations must be analyzed to understand the next level : the Group. A Group is composed by 2 or more individuals, who come together to accomplish a particular task or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If members are attracted to the group because they like members of the group, or the group activities/goals or just because it fills a need for affiliation, they are more likely to be productive. The size of the group also has an influence on the group's performance. According to recent research, medium sized groups of 5 to 7 people seem to have the higher performance in organizations. If the group is smaller, there's a chance it can highlight the individual differences and harm the group cohesiveness. If group are too large, people tend to work more by themselves ("Free riding") rather than with the whole group, or create smaller teams within the group. c) Group norms. Norms are acceptable standards of behavior within a group that are shared by the members of the group. Norms define the limits of what is acceptable and what is not in terms of behavior. They are typically imagined in order to facilitate group survival, make behavior more predictable, avoid embarrassing situations, and express the values of the group. Each group will establish its own set of norms that may determine anything from the appropriate clothes to wear at a dinner to how many comments to make in a meeting. Groups pressure members to force them to conform to the group's standards. The norms often reflect the level of commitment, motivation, and performance of the group. Since the first organization that we had chosen was incorrect, so we had to make the necessary changes to accomplish our goals. The other effective feature is the purpose of the group. Kozier et al (2010) stated that the effective group purpose is when "goal, task, and outcomes are clarified. Understanding and modified so that members of the group can commit themselves to purposes through cooperation" (p.401). Whether it be about the President, the weather change, there is always something to talk about. One of the major issues that has been talked about for an extended period of time is gun control and the issues that follow it. There are two specific articles that were chosen today; one of which from the Chicago Sun Times website, and the other from the New York Times. The issues following gun control have been very outrageous in my opinion. Let us talk about the city of Chicago, for instance. Chicago is known for its dangers. Being one of the most dangerous cities throughout the entire United States of America, gun violence has been a major issue over the years. As much as people say it will get better, things only get worse. In the Chicago Sun Times article, we take a look at how this issue was attempted to be solved. From the year of 2013 until present day, more than 7,000 weapons were collected each year. Chicago, to most people, is considered to be the murder capital of the U.S. Most of the murders were committed by guns. This is extremely sad, because think about all of the innocent lives that were taken; mothers, children, you name it. One of the main things that contribute to most of the gun violence is the fact that the city of Chicago has many gangs. • 113. Working Well And How Group Project If There Is A Chance... Based on the small group that I joined in communication class, I will talk about what is working well and what is getting in the way in our group. Then I will discuss about what I can do to improve the group and the things about group project if there is a chance for a start over again. At last, I am also going to talk about what I think that I learned is important lesson in this semester. First of all, the things that were working well is about our different roles. We have five people in our group and two girls with three boys. For example, three boys are the "Maintenance roles" to "help the group run smoothly" (99). To be more specific, they are always talking to each other to check when we have any group works due. They also mentioned to us if there was any individual homework due. These are the roles for keeping the group on track. On the other hand, two girls were more like "task roles" and were "to help get the job done" (98). We are always divided works for our group members to finish our group projects. We also will contact every group members before our group meetings to make sure they finish their own works. Therefore, having different roles is the thing that we are working well. Then what is getting in the way is about our group meeting is on time now. When we just met each other first time, we did not know each other very well. We are kind of unconcern so most of us late for the first group meeting. However, when we talked to each other more in the first group ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 117. I Volunteer Full Time For A Non Profit Animal Rescue Group I volunteer full time for a non–profit animal rescue group called "Dogs 2nd Chance." This organization established in 2007 has fostered and found new homes for over 500 dogs locally, up the East Coast and in the New England area. Dogs fostered in our homes are rejected family pets found abandoned on the streets, abused and left to fend for its self. We provide medical treatment, rehabilitation, and find loving homes for each rescued animal. While working with the rescue group I have successfully helped manage multiple events through crowdfunding, silent auctions, and community events, so far this year we've risen over $10,000 for the cause. I retired from the U.S. Navy in 2005 after serving 20 years. While working with the U.S Navy, I was provided with the opportunity to work at multiple overseas locations, Puerto Rico, Naples, and Manama Bahrain in support of U.S International Operations. As a Military Police and Prison Guard, my duties included managing daily operations and briefings for three Admirals regarding personnel, ships, submarines, and aircraft 's. Addition missions performed where various duties in regard to tracking aircraft activity during Counterdrug Operations. My goals are to acquire a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), certification for (CAPM) Certified Associate in Project Management and Business Analyst, and my certification for Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). The aim of this report was to show the factors that led to the group failing to carry out this tasks. The factors that caused this to happen were time mismanagement, bad project planning and poor communication. Factors that lead to a group failing a project was chosen as the topic of the report so problems that led to the group failing could be identified and understood in a way that would prevent group members from making the same mistakes in any future projects. These factors can be avoided by using planning resources and steady communication through Email services and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this was during the design specification stage of the project. The group ended up getting very low scores because of the way the project was carried out. The work was not evenly shared out between the group members and all group members did not meet up regularly to see who had done which stage of the project. One group member ended up doing most of the task including the story design, the Entity relationship diagram, most of the use case descriptions and the structured English because the other group members did not understand how to do these part of the projects. This led to the group getting very low scores in all these sections as the individual who carried out most of the tasks was not able to fully focus on each section and develop them to an adequate level. This could have been avoided if the group had planned the project well because the weaknesses of individual members could have been discussed earlier and the person who understood the work could have showed the other members of the group how to carry out the various task they did not understand and this would have helped the group avoid failing this stage of the project. Poor project management is also harmful to a group chances of passing a project because it also leads to a lack of communication as group members would not be able ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Opioids Study 1: Jae–Hwang Song et al. divided 336 patients undergoing foot and ankle surgery under sciatic or femoral–sciatic nerve block into treatment and control groups Based on the date of surgery. All the patients received a nerve block preoperatively. The block was established with mixture of lidocaine and ropivacaine injection. In the postanesthesia recovery room, a transdermal patch of fentanyl was applied to the chest of the patients with intravenous midazolam in the treatment group. The primary outcome measure was the difference in the number of requests for additional postoperative pain medication. The secondary outcome of interest was the degree of postoperative pain using a visual analog scale (VAS). also, complications noticed. Metoclopramide was given to nauseated patients (6). Postoperative regression of both sensory and motor block was significantly slower in group N than in group B and the first rescue analgesic requirement in group N was significantly late than in group B. 0.8mg intrathecal nalbuphine as an adjunct to spinal bupivacaine prolongs the postoperative analgesia with minimal side effects and with desirable sedation intraoperatively which helps in taking care of psychological impact of operation theatre environment. • 129. The Importance Of Communicating And People Understand... Communication has always been a up and down aspect in my life. I believe communicating is the purpose of receiving and giving information to others, but I also believe that communicating is a way of expressing yourself to the rest of the world. I do understand that others have greater levels of communicating and people understand communication differently. I have experienced both of these aspects of communication in groups I have been part of. Personally, I prefer to work in a group setting rather than as an individual. I like the support, experiences, and even friendships that evolve from group work. I believe that group communication helps to create a memorable and positive outcome for the task rather than doing it independently. I have been apart of many "groups" throughout my high school and college years and I have enjoyed and learned many different things from each one. One group in particular in which I learned a lot and was able to gain many skills was from my "core group". I was a New Student Orientation Assistant (NSOA) when entering my sophomore year at Eastern. NSOAs assist the new students with their transition to Eastern. There were over 150 of us students that were divided into core groups. I was with my core group for five days and with them throughout those days for more than 12 hours. Through those long training days, we learned a lot about one another. As a group, we bonded and were able to successfully complete the First Four training and orientation. ... Group Size And Exposure Time To Conform or Not to Conform: An Experiment on Group Size and Exposure Time Over the years, there have been many tragedies such as the holocaust that happened in 1933. Many people wondered what caused these soldiers and civilians to go along with Hitler. In the society we live in, we are taught right from wrong at a very young age. How many people conformed in order to help kill more than 11 million people and why? At what point does the definition for right and wrong become a blur? Learning the causes and effects of conformity can help us understand why the ignorant leaders are followed. • 137. Mindfulness Activity Report Purpose of the Activity: SOS is a mindfulness exercise that can be used to increase internal awareness of group members. It emphasizes staying present in the current moment and can be used to ground a group. Over time this mindfulness exercise can help to teach group members how their environment impacts them and how to address their "triggers". The facilitator encourages the group members to use the mindfulness activity to observe and describe their surroundings and feelings without judging them. Population: This activity can be used in almost any population. It has been known to be effective in groups that focus on trauma, but can also be utilized in less high stress situations. The facilitator can easily make this activity more kids friendly by speaking using terms that they understand. When to Use This Activity: SOS can be utilized at any point during the group process. Then have them rate their feeling of control on a 1–10 scale. 1 being completely in control and 10 being completely out of control. • 141. Reflective Reflection : Reflective Thinking This self–reflection will incorporate the 4R's model of reflective thinking in order for my reflections to be properly structured. The overall group project was a good experience for me, and provided me a great opportunity to work with people from different cultures. Although these people were from different cultures, I knew each group member before this assignment and had worked with the majority of them previously. Therefore, I respected all the group member's and the skills, strengths and weaknesses they brought to our group. Because of my established relationship with all members, I felt that I was able to be honest in my assessment of their work without being perceived as bossy or creating conflict. The aim for all of us was to do very well in this assignment, so our group established a clear idea of outcomes and quality of work. While these positive experiences made the group project easier to complete. There are still challenges that we faced as a group. One main issue was that several group members failed to meet deadlines that the group had set. This is relevant because we as a group needed all involved to finish their individual parts in order to for their work to be read to implemented into the report. Failing to submit individual parts on time makes it more difficult for me to trust group members. This is a common issue that has happened in almost every group assignment I have undertaken. I found that communication with these group members was absolutely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 145. Comparison Between Group D And Group C What is seen in the data is that there is not a steady decline in the reaction time when you compare each column to the previous or next respectively. The time increases when comparing Group A to Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT when looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical significance in some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence level. The difference from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is compared to each other, the probability (P–Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference between the two. From Group B to Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P– Value of 0.4698. This is not a statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal outcome. Group C and Group D has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw data, there is no significant difference with a P–Value of 0.0833. Group D to Group E is a 0.1252 decrease with a P–Value of 0.3719 making it not significant. Group E to Group F has a 0.6351 second increase with a P–Value of 0.0535 also not making it significant. Ethnic minority disadvantage in the labour market This research explores differences between ethnic groups in labour market participation (unemployment, employment and hours worked) and employment status (low, mid and high skilled occupation levels) for those in work. It examines whether there is 'clustering' into particular occupations for some ethnic groups, and looks at how much geography matters for employment and job status for different ethnic groups. This paper finds that: In terms of unemployment, the overwhelming picture is one of continuing ethnic minority disadvantage compared with the White British majority group; There is a considerable difference in unemployment rates between places for each ethnic group, as well as between ethnic groups; and Ethnic inequalities between groups have persisted over time. Summary Summary Key points Ethnic inequalities in labour market participation have persisted over time; between 2001 and 2011, there remained considerable differences between ethnic groups in employee, self– employed, and unemployment rates. In terms of unemployment, the overwhelming picture is one of continuing ethnic minority disadvantage compared with the White British majority group. There is considerable variability in unemployment rates between places for each ethnic group, as well as between ethnic groups. For those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being able to adhere to a given deadline in a group situation, demonstrates responsibility, time management, group cohesion, and progress. However, being that a group is a collection of individuals with separate lives, there are times when members of the group may be experiencing extenuating circumstances preventing the group from completing a task on time. In such a scenario, communication within the chain of command is essential. Failing to communicate problems that may arise, and inhibit group progression towards a task will result in failure to communicate the task, group division, distrust between the chain of command and the group, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a military situation, lack of communication can result in the loss of lives, or failure to accomplish a goal as the power and upper hand is now in the hands of the force that was better prepared. In our specific situation, failing to communicate issues that arise prior to assignment completion will make the group ill prepared to deal with the burden of new assignments, and lead us subject to punishment at any time. The constant threat of punishment, or attack from a lack of communication leads the group to be in a disorganized state and make careless mistakes out of emotion. Secondly, communicating an issue prior to a deadline develops trust between a group and those in charge of the group. In the military this is very apparent. In fact, the United States Marine Corps has a whole sector of marines who are trained in a skillset called communications. Comm. Marines sole task to relay, and update information between Marines on a mission and the chain of command. The Marines on the mission develop trust and reliance amongst each other because they know that should they lose the upper hand in battle, communication Marines can relay this information and call in reinforcements to take back the fight, and allow the ground Marines to continue their mission. In a group scenario such as ours, trust is essential to group development and progress.
