Group Presentation Analysis
Group presentations have never been my forte. I really disagree with having to work with others because mostly always one of the members is the one
that does most of the work and that one member is usually me. In this case I was assigned to work with three other girls which were Amy Cruz, Diana
Maldonado, and Emily Alvarado. We had to come up with an argument with the topic of why should vaccinations be mandatory. Each of us
collaborated fairly to the final presentation. At the beginning, we lost a person which was Emily. We emailed he several times and waited for her to be
in class and she never showed up. We eventually decided to ask the professor what was going on and we learned that she had dropped the class. We
were then down to three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I can't complain I was assigned a great team to work with. We all worked fairly in the making of the PowerPoint in my opinion. We talked to each other
often and got everything done. No arguments were presented and we talked through each and everyone's ideas and kept the best. In my opinion the
most difficult part of working together was that Diana's email was down for a while and we could not reach her the day before the presentation to make
sure everything was ready, but other than that everything else worked out fine for us. In conclusion, I really liked working with Amy Cruz and Diana
Maldonado. I would work with them again any time. I am also glad that for the first time, I did not end up doing most of the work and had the
experience of working on an effective group. In my opinion I think every group assignment should be fairly work on and not just one member end up
doing all the work for everyone so they can earn an easy

Powerpoint: Group Analysis
Usually I would not want to be a part of a group for an essay project simply because I wouldn't want to put my grade in jeopardy, however, my recent
experience has made me rethink my initial opinion. Being able to work in a group has taught me a lot and it will help me in my future by allowing me
to work well with others and put a greater importance on making my communication skills better, get work done in a timely manner, plan and
compromise, as well as collaborative work. To start off the beginning stages in preparing the group research PowerPoint we were placed into random
groups, this helped me by not giving me the opportunity to just try and pick my friends to do the project. I got to work with classmates I wouldn't
usually associate with, taking me out of my comfort zone and opening my mind to new ideas, and friendships. As a group we then selected a topic we
all wanted to do a presentation on which was "should school officials be allowed to search student's lockers?" It was a very controversial and excellent
topic to do both research and present. As a group we organized our presentation by splitting the PowerPoint into four sections, the first being
background information, the second was stating the problem, third was the refutation, and last being a call ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being able to work with a group to arrange a presentation taught me to work on my communication skills, which came to use when we needed to turn
in our part of the project to put the presentation together. At the beginning of the project everyone in the group was doing their own thing which soon to
realize was not a good idea due to the fact that it wasn't helping the presentation flow. After getting into contact with everyone and actually planning out
what we were going to focus on, the presentation came

A Report On Global Business Environment
Teamwork In today's fast–moving, ultracompetitive global business environment, you can't rely on stable teams to get the work done. Instead, you need
"teaming" (Edmondson, 2011). A team is a unit of two or more people who interact and coordinate their work toward a goal to which they are
committed and hold themselves mutually accountable (DM p. 588). We had to work in teams and not as a group to get effective results. The steady
venture groups we grew up with still work delightfully in numerous settings. By pulling together the right individuals with the right mix of abilities and
preparing and giving them an opportunity to assemble trust, organizations can perform huge things. During our entire presentation, the goal of our
group was to get an A plus in the overall grade paper and the mission was to get an A plus in the group assignment as well. With the target set and the
objectives well defined we set up the schedule in terms of group meetings and the content division among group members equally. During dividing our
content into creative and data analysis, we asked around quickly as to which group members had a high technical or conceptual skills, these group
members were in charge of getting the presentation graphics and templates made and rest of us decided the text that had to be gone in each slide. After
motivating and communicating loopholes by discussing each group member's contribution during our group meetings we began compiling stuff
together. The biggest

Rhetorical Devices Used To Characterize The Apca
The ASPCA is an amazing organization that has provided aid for thousands of animals. ASPCA stands for American Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals and it has groups all over the world working to better the lives of animals and protect them from abuse. My group's presentation
showed what the values of the ASPCA are and why people should donate to it. My groups presentation successfully presented the ASPCA is convincing
way to get people to donate. We did this by showing authoritative figures that support the ASPCA and by showing the amount of animals that are hurt
or killed each day as well as the amount of animals that are saved. We were also successful because we showed how the general public can help ASPCA
foundation.
Our presentation effectively displayed images that allowed it to be successful. Such as pictures that showed the conditions animals are rescued from as

We used Ethos, logos, pathos and Kairos. Ethos was displayed in our presentation through our pictures and video of celebrities which showed the
audience that our organization is creditable. Logos was also evident in our presentation through our facts about how many animals are euthanized and
how many cases of animal hoarding occur each year. As well as logos we also used pathos which was shown through our video and pictures. The
video's goal was to make people feel pity and sadness for the animals so that they would donate. The last rhetorical device that we used was Kairos
which refers to when something happened or is going to happen. An example of this device in our presentation was when we wanted the audience to
donate money we said our message was that the audience should donate now because we wanted it to convince the audience that donating was
important. This strategy demonstrated Kairos and allowed our presentation to be

My Group Presentation During Week 10
My group presentation during week 10 was around the topic of women at work and more specifically maternity and paternity leave. A common
perception of teamwork is that you either have a group that that works well together and finishes the assignment ahead of time or you have group where
there is little communication and the assignment is a last minute activity resulting in a grade that is truly reflective of the effort and time taken.
Fortunately for myself the group that was formed for this assignment worked well together and produced an exceptional presentation. I enjoy teamwork
as it allows for ideas to be bounced off one another and a better understanding of issues and problems to be well comprehended.
As well as being a chance to incorporate individuals talents within presentation new skills and the development of existing skills. Personally I feel as
though I have a good level of skill for presenting an idea however I lack in the preparation are of a presentation I prefer to present something to an
audience rather than find and conduct research for a presentation. However the other people in my group were good at finding information and crafting
a brief outline around the presentation. This worked quite well for our group as we had a couple of confident speakers whom brought the presentation
together. Where others succeeded in producing and finding evidence to back up our stated methods in which work should be done.
The topic of maternity leave and paternity leave

Unit 1
D1 – Evaluate interpersonal and written communication techniques.
Introduction
The most important thing when presenting is your interpersonal skills. Throughout this project I believe my interpersonal skills were good but there
were plenty of improvements I could have made, I have been really successful in developing my interpersonal skills, I believe that it should be
important that every student has the opportunity to improve their presentational skills or communication skills because at some point they will need it.
Unit 1 had tested my confidences and had me use a variety of interpersonal skills such as eye contact, movement, body language and my written
techniques was also put to use and assessed in this unit.

Team work is the most respected attribute in an employee as I mentioned earlier in the evaluation, we were assessed on our team work. I worked with a
classmate when creating the presentation. I created the slides while he did research on the topic and as our presentation was about computer
components, my group member suggested that we borrow a motherboard from I.T support to support our presentation. All in all we managed to finish
the presentation in less than a week, and we passed first time around, we were the first group to present in our class and I and my team member think
we did pretty well. I chose to work with one person for our presentation because then it's easier to communicate with one person and we could split the
responsibility so it was easier to manage.
What I have learnt from watching others present having watched my peers/classmates presentations I have basically picked up a few do's and don'ts
while presenting. Some groups made obvious mistakes and they had to re–do the presentation, at the end of the presentation we had to assess the group
which presented and then point out places for improvement. For example a few groups kept making the same mistake by facing the board and just
reading of the board while others just stood there not participating hiding while other members of their group presented, there was this one incident
where one group copied and pasted a text which they were unable to

Reflective Essay On Group Presentation
Reflection Paper Honestly, my personal experience during this group presentation was pleasant without too many difficulties. I tried to manager my
time in order to have my paperwork and presentation completed before the due date. However, some incompatibilities with some of the team member's
schedule were one of the inconvenient found during this process. My journey was initiated through a survey and review of the chapter 25th which is
referent to workplace issues, Nursing Today book; I also checked other chapters related to safety such as chapter 22 on patient's safety and chapter 11
on how to obtain a safer communication. During our first interaction as a group on March 18th 2016, we discussed the chapters involved in the
presentation, and which type of presentation should we develop. We had some ideas in order to make the presentation more dynamic and interactive.
One of these ideas was to create a game such as jeopardy or a production of our own video which would foster a better interaction. In the same day, I
created a conversation group to facilitate the connection of our group with the objective to discuss the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We discussed our first attempt to meet physically in order to organize and assign the responsibilities to each team member. At the end of our
conversation we all agreed to meet on Friday march 25th after class. On March 25th during our meeting after class, I offered myself to create an outline
as guide, to direct us into the topics related to safety; listed some of the more relevant topics to be cover in our presentation. I sent it through text
message and via email, then which one of us would be able to select the topic that appeared more interesting to each one. On March 26th I received the
first PPT created by Tomas. During this day I worked on the development of my presentation; I organized my ideas and topics by importance and added

Guest Lectures And Group Presentation
Guest Lectures and Group Presentation Our first guest lecture was held by a woman named Barbara Bossi. Mrs. Bossi is a registered nurse at Geisinger
Community Medical Center. During her lecture, she discussed multiple things of importance. Some of these things were leadership, regulatory
requirement, quality and safety/performance improvement and hospital operations. In regards to leadership, she mentioned the different positions of the
staff in the hospital. The high ranking officials, such as the CEO, CNO, and COO, are the ones who keep the hospital running smoothly and make sure
that standards are met. Regulatory requirement involves the Department of Health, Joint Commission, and Medicare. The Department of Health

Barbara Bossi also came a second time and gave us a presentation on inpatients. She talked about protocols and diagnosis. An example of which is
when a patient has a heart attack and is brought to the hospital. The staff has to make sure the patient receives aspirin upon arrival. Another example
would be when a patient is going to surgery and the staff has to make sure that patient's skin is prepped and the antibiotics are set. Some goals that she
talked about are improving the accuracy of patient identification, improving communication among care givers, improving the safety of medications,
working to avoid infections, and reconciling medications across continuum of care. She also talked about improving admissions for emergency rooms,
choosing where the patient gets relocated, direct admission, and after surgery requirements. In our group presentation I learned about Medical fraud and
abuse. The main point of my article was the prevention, detection, and reporting of fraud and abuse. Medicare fraud and Abuse are two very different
thing. Fraud is defined as making false statements or representations of material facts to obtain some benefit or payment for which no entitlement
would otherwise exist. Abuse, on the other hand, describes practices that either directly or indirectly results in redundant costs to the Medicare program.

Al Capone Group Video Analysis
I think the group presentations were good. The students that where in a group with me seemed to worked very hard on the presentation and gathering
information on Al Capone. Pretty much everyone in the group was really active on coming up with ideas on the presentation and figuring out ways to
make the presentation more exciting one of the member of the group decided to put pictures in our presentation to make it more lively and not boring
with just words and facts of author's they have written on Al Capone. we also consider a more graphical documentary video on Al Capone to open up

Class Discussion Board Forum And Group Task Presentations
1. I have shown a sense of social responsibility by participating in our class discussion board forum and group task presentations. The discussion board
was designed to collaborate with peers regarding court cases and topics of law. Through constructive feedback, I helped my peers learn additional
information regarding the law topics provided in the discussion forum. It was important for me to provide conversation within the online learning
environment that was constructive and informative. In addition to my posts, it was important for me to provide helpful information to further the
discussion of my peer's responses. It is only nominal to agree with a peer's statement. Diverse and effective feedback lies with analyzing someone's post
then responding to peers with pertinent dialogue while adding additional key points.
2. I have shown commitment and work ethic by reading the syllabus and knowing the expectations required by the school and professors. It is important
to take each assignment and rubric seriously as well as complete them in advance. Throughout intensives, I have taken detailed notes to better
understand school law. The Advance School Law intensive provided the opportunity to work in groups for collaboration. I learned early in my career
that initiative is an important part of a team which shows others that they can count on an individual who is self–disciplined to be prepared and diligent
in their tasks. My group members received confirmation of my commitment

Reflection About Group Presentations
We all certainly have to do group presentations during our student life. This method of study is vital, as "it is a successful alternative or addition to the
traditional term paper. It can balance the student 's educational experiences by providing training in oral communication, interpersonal skills, and
analytical thinking." (King 1990, p.77). Therefore, it is necessary for us to reflect on what we have done and learnt through group presentations. In this
essay, I would have a look back at what I experienced and learnt from the BCM110 group assignment.
Our assignment was to work together and do research on a media issue that we studied in the lectures. After four weeks, we had to give a class
presentation on what we had researched. Our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, our main issue is "Groupthink". Groupthink is defined as "the pressure to conform within a group interfering with objective analysis of a
problem and causes poor group decision making." (Dwyer 2013, p.221). There was lack of discussion regarding new ideas in our team. No
contradictions were often made, and we always reached agreement very quickly because we all seemed want to avoid conflict. For instance, when a
member said Powerpoint was simple and time–saving than other presentation methods, we all quickly agreed to choose Powerpoint without no further
arguments. As a result, our presentation seemed quite boring compared with other groups who created a play. To avoid "Groupthink" , we can apply the
"brainstoriming" strategy to encourage creativity and diversity of ideas. We should write up all the ideas and generate possible solutions, eliminate
duplicate ideas to find the most effective solutions.
Regarding my individual performance, I was a responsible member and always actively listened to other members' ideas to give constructive feedback.
I focused on what other members said and encourage them to express their viewpoint. For example, when we discussed on fandoms, I wanted to talk
about Monsters – the fanclub of Lady Gaga while Teskana preferred the example of One Direction. However, I listened to the reasons Tes gave, and
finally agreed that One Direction

Rocio Mendoza. The date when I lead the group was November 7, 2016, and I made a facilitator plan for 40 minutes. The plan for the day that I
facilitated was focused on the topic that we choose in the preliminary phase which was culture gender and values. The theme that I choose to talk about
in my session was about Gender Stereotype discussion. At the beginning part of the group for the first 10 minutes, I started by introducing myself and
explaining confidentiality, then I use the Sessional Turning In skill. According to Shulman (2015) explain that "The leader attempts to develop
anticipatory sensitivity before each meeting, to themes that could emerge during the session." (p. 487). First of all I talk about confidentiality than I
started doing a review of the previous session, in which Yadira was the facilitator and she talked about gender role and traditions.
Therefore we did a brief recap of what happening in the last meeting to make sure we are on the same page. After the review, I practiced the sessional

Presentation On Domestic Violence With An Interagency Group
You are doing a presentation on ''domestic violence' with an interagency group. One of the participants states that they are having a difficult time
understanding the issues involved and asks ''Why don't the women just leave the situation and make a better life? What may be your internal reaction
(thoughts, feelings, etc.) to this question and what answer would you give the participant? Be SPECIFIC– WRITE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WOULD
DO AND SAY. In my first response to the Pre–Inventory Questions I stated that the participant was conclusive and judgemental. This is in line with
what I have learnt during the course of studies. Though I now have a deeper understanding of how our assumptions influences the way we process
information and the need to develop critical, reflective skills that is essential to deconstructing any underlying assumptions. I have also learnt about the
default assumptions based on Eurocentricity ideals of the helping process. From my point of view I can see that the participant asking this question
does not understand how the personal and the political are interrelated and how this affects individual within the society. It is obvious that this
participant is already blaming the victim by implying that the victim is responsible for their individual plights, he is using a deficit lens to judge the
women based on his assumption that there is something in the individual's personal disposition that is limiting their ability to escape an

My Group Presentation, We Chose The Business Hooters
In my group presentation, we chose the business Hooters. I Personally have never been to Hooters before. But I have learned a lot of good qualities
about this company. Most people when they think of Hooters they think of the girls. Some people don 't like the idea of the Hooter girls and some
people are biased about it. Waitresses dress unique with a tight white tank top with their logo and tight orange spandex shorts. Causing many people to
refuse the eat at Hooters cause of the "sex appeal" look they broadcast. Personally, if they are not getting disrespected I see nothing wrong with the
Hooter girls. Hooters is another kind of sports bar/family restaurant. As they do target male clientele mostly because of the costume they do wear. ...

Through the years, Hooters has raised and donated over 4 million dollars between the two foundations. Although it doesn't end there, Hooters

American Diabetes Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation & the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Hooters decided to widen their horizons and 12–

Essay On Reflective Reflection
This reflective report is going to demonstrate an outline of our group dynamics leading up to and during the presentation. The purpose of this is to learn
from the experience so that any other future group presentations will be improved. I will also give my opinion to what I have learnt in regards to
presenting and overall my ability to work in a team. The Preparation Whilst not all of us who were assigned to this group chose the topic of Degrowth
as a first preference, we all remained very positive. Our teamwork and optimism made it easier to allocate tasks and come up with unique ideas. During
our first meeting we looked through the assignment requirements and pulled apart each individual section that would be discussed in our presentation.
This was also the time we connected via Facebook and started a group chat that included a Google slides document. Each person in our group was
assigned a particular section. I was given the positives attached to the degrowth idea, Alexander was given the negatives, Karen and Jennifer were
allocated the concepts and explanation of what degrowth is, Michael and Lyndal were given real world examples and Harun was given the social
aspects. Unfortunately, we were unable to connect with Harry and he did not end up sending us any information. Other than that small issue, we had no
problems when organising each member of the group and allocating tasks. The entirety of the group got along very well. At first, the group struggled to
understand the concept of degrowth. We were allocated our sections in the assignment however, we did not quite understand what we had to write
about. To overcome this, the group became very active in the Facebook chat and would send each other videos and articles related to our topic. Due to
this, I was able to understand my position better and start my section of the assignment. Our group chat was frequently active and it was where able to
organise group meetings. We would often meet up after class and let each other know how we were coping, this helped to create a strong group
dynamic. After working in a team I discovered that I was able to learn the content on a deeper level and understand the concepts much more clearly.

How The Group Members Co Operate Between One Another...
Introduction In this assignment, I am going to do a self–reflection report regarding on how the group members co–operate between one another during
the discussions and preparation of the presentation. Also, the implication of the Managing Organisation and People (MOP) theories that have been
taught by the lecturer in the classes to be implied in this assignment. The theories will be consists of communication, leadership, decision–making, and
lastly but not the least teamwork. The structure of this report will be based on Gibb's reflective cycle (1988) that consist of description, feelings,
evaluation, and analysis in each paragraph below follow by conclusion and action plan. Communication The first day on MOP class, the group member
was assigned by the lecturer for the group assessment. I felt anxious and excited as I have never seen almost all of the classmates faces before. Finally, I
ended up with one girl who I knew as we are in the same course, however, she did not recognise me until I told her that we went to the same classes. It
makes me realised that a communication is important. There were another two guys and two more women, which made us a representative of four
different countries. I was confused on what topic should I talk to them and started asking some basic questions. Though we have different cultures, we
could talk, jokes, even sometimes dishing our own country which made barriers of communication vanished. This relates to Nardon, Steers, &

Reflection On Group Presentation
For our group presentation, my peers and I had a group chat and a shared file to work with. Most of our communication was via Facebook Messenger
and Google Docs and during class time. Though this method eased our work and gave us flexibility, it also caused some problems that we did not
foresee. I expected this project to be taxing, but instead found it much easier. The group overall was about the same as an essay, but with a visual twist
which was interesting.
When my classmates and I were able to work on our group PowerPoint, we made an outline of what we wanted our slides to be. We decided to have a
two slides per argument; one for the actual argument and the other for an image, graph or any other supporting evidence. Then we added a title, intro,
conclusion and a work cited slides. After creating an outline, we distributed the arguments evenly, but did not mention the remaining slides. To have the
PowerPoint file available to all of us, we uploaded it onto Google Drive and shared the file with the group. We did not, however, specify what kind of
tone we wanted in the presentation. This caused us all to aim for different types of presentations rather than creating a cohesive project.
For the next few days, Jose, Pricsilla, and I were reading through articles about welfare and states who are already drug testing their recipients and how
much money they spend each year. After reading an article which we deemed as useful, we sent the link to our group chat to ensure that we

Audience Analysis University of Phoenix Aaron Trevino
Audience Analysis 2 In presenting any information to a mixed group of individuals it is important that you address all of the issues that will affect each
group of people in the meeting. The presentation should be well thought out and possibly have gone through several drafts before completing a final
presentation. It is also important to have someone proof read the presentation to ensure that it makes sense and provides pertinent information to the
target audience. The presenter should also go through the presentation at least a couple of times to ensure that they are not just reading word for word

Focusing on the positives is essential; a happy sales person will sell more
Audience Analysis 4 however as a presenter I would not be against providing the sales people with helpful hints to make their job a little more efficient.
As far as the proper communication channels since you are presenting the sales figures to everyone together a formal communication channel would be
appropriate. If you were presenting the sales figures to everyone individually you could use different types of communication channels. If you were
presenting to managers, a formal communication channel would be acceptable. An example of this would be the presentation you are giving in a
meeting room; you would want to present the material in a professional manner to ensure that you are proficient in what you are presenting. If you were
speaking to a group of customers, you would probably want to use a formal communication channel as well. Perhaps, instead of having all your
customers in one room you could go to each company and provide them with the information as it pertains to them. Now if you were presenting the
figures to sales people a more informal communication channel such as a working lunch. This will provide a relaxed setting were you can focus on the
numbers but also reward your sales people for a job well done. Some considerations to keep in mind when you are presenting the quarterly sales figures

The Process Of Working With My Presentation Group
REFLECTIVE ESSAY

HRM1005 FOUNDATION IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND ORGANISATION
SEMINAR TUTOR: CLAUDIO MORRISON
TIME AND DAY OF SEMINAR: MONDAYS, 10AM–12PM

In this essay I will be reflecting on the process of working with my presentation group. I will be making a critical analysis and also draw on theories of
management, organisation and individual behaviour regarding my process at Middlesex University.
Firstly, I will be discussing the concept of group formation and how it could affect the progress and the pace of individuals within a group, before I go
into detail with my personal experience, I would like to briefly elaborate on theories surrounding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the purpose of the group presentation, we were set to create a formal group of 4 and carry out a task. Upon forming a groups individuals must
identify the important factors that can affect the success of the group, whether or not individuals will be able to work well with each other or have
conflicts amongst each other. These important factors are :
* Communication
* Personality
* Conflict
* Self Awareness
* Leadership
When looking at the factor communication, we know that communication is "the process by which information is exchanged between a sender and a
receiver." (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2010).
From this we can understand that without communication nothing can be done, members of the group need to be able to communicate with one another
in order to complete the assignment; but communication is not always as simple as talking to one another, you also must be able to understand what you
are being told, and this is where other factors like cultural difference and physical surroundings have to be taken into consideration. Cultural difference
can hinder your communication because of the difference in pronounciation, accent and tone of voice. Physical surroundings can also be an issue
because one will not be able to concentrate in room full of people shouting. However, as a group we able to avoid this from happening because we
made sure we worked in a quiet environment where it was

Nursing Group Presentation Report
Our group presentation focused on delegation. Although not a new aspect of nursing delegation is becoming an increasingly vital aspect of being a
healthcare professional due to ever–increasing changes (Haas, 1999). As nurses we are being expected to increasingly manage and monitor the work of
other healthcare professionals, meaning all nurses are taking a leadership role within their caseload, delegating tasks appropriately to other healthcare
professionals. Leadership involves focussing on a goal, getting co–workers inspired and driven to act upon the specific goal and providing necessary
support and incentive to achieve (Porter–O'Grady, 2003). Leaders should be able to develop an effective and strategic plan of action which visualises
the future whilst effectively motivating and managing a team to reach the end goal (Mahoney, 2001). A successful leader needs to be able to problem
solve, uphold team effectiveness and develop group identity in order to succeed. A leader should have effective, energetic and motivational qualities

requirements of others, delivering information in practical and relevant means and being respectful of the differing attitudes and knowledge of team

Reflection On Group Presentation
The purpose of this essay is to reflect on our group presentation. The task was to launch a new product/service in the UK. I will be analyzing and
evaluating on our experience throughout all the stages. Our group consisted of five members. The first step was to meet the group and get to know each
other. However, for this meeting, two members including me didn't show up. This made it harder for me to share my ideas and I ended up working
more individually than as a group. After the first meeting, two of the hardest working members of the group strike an idea for a service to launch in the
UK,something which would benefit us health wise and financially. We then came up with questions and started answering them and thus brainstormed a
plan. They then split the work into six sub–topics. This made the researching task very easy, as we were five and each one of us chose a sub–topic that
we wanted to do and the sixth sub topic was split between two members. There were no arguments over the selection of the sub–topics, and that was a
positive sign about the group for us. The group was always in touch with each other through a WhatsApp group and emails, which is very important for
group work. "Communication–the human connection– is key to career and personal success" (Paul J Meyer). The work was more individual based now,
I chose Business Strategy and was willing to do half of Operational Strategy as it was the sub topic that required the most work so we decided to split it
into two. During this time, is where I felt we were not functioning well because no one volunteered nor was interested to help me with the operational
strategy. However, we all finished our sub topics and submitted it to one of the members who then created the powerpoint and sent it to all of us. There
were no arguments until we were supposed to meet after a class to practice our presentation as a group and to make final changes. Only two of the
members attended, unfortunately I did not go to this one as well and one of the members was really unsatisfied and unhappy with our commitment
towards the presentation. After talking to the member, making sure she is satisfied and to be more committed towards the task, We then decided as a

Reflection On Group Presentation
In the group presentation, my group and I presented on the issue of –isms. This included focus on sexism, ageism, and racism. I felt that each person in
our group was very diverse and unique which made our presentation stand out with having a little bit of individuality from each member in the
presentation. Our main goal of communication was to inform the audience on what exactly each –ism is, discuss where each one is found, and how the
are influenced in today's society. From the start of the group presentation process, I found myself being an emergent leader. With a lack of
communication when our group first got together, I felt we were in need of leadership because it seemed nobody else was going to do anything such as
getting each others numbers or creating a group name, so I decided to take charge the best I could. As time went on our group started to get our stuff
together. With that said if we all began brainstorming and set up some procedural needs from the start, the group would of been on the same page and
maybe some wouldn't have waited until the last moment. I was thankful for Jonathan for stepping up and helping the group get started with an outline
and focusing on a question of policy along with answering any other questions that arose during the presentation process. Once the deadline got closer
however is when we communicated the most. Sounds logical but my hope was that we all have most of the work done prior than the day before it was
due so we could

Throughout the course of this class, my group and I had done a lot of research, analyzing, and discussing before the creation of our poster. The day we
had learned that we were partners for this project, we all exchanged phone numbers and used a texting group chat as our main way of communication.
We much preferred meeting face to face every so often as compared to using Blackboard and when we actually wanted to meet, we often used the
library in Gorham. We decided to work mostly independently throughout most of the course, conducting our own research and recording information
that we found to be useful eventually. Our group decided not to assign each member a task to do independently, instead, all of our work would be

We decided on using the group study rooms located in the library so we could work on the poster with a television as well as it around a table and talk.
December 1st and December 6th were our important days where we met and actually constructed the poster. We met at 9:30 AM and utilized the free
time we had from having no class. I brought up the idea of using Google Slides instead of a PowerPoint. I informed my group that creating the project
this way, we would be able to all connect to the presentation and work on it together from separate computers. I also figured out how to download the
Google Slide presentation into a PowerPoint so it could be presented in class. I discussed the information I had collected as well as my opinions and
analysis on how Clinton conducted their campaign. My group had some small troubles when it came to creating the basic layout of the poster. I found
the document which had the rubric for the poster and the presentation. I advised using the main points of the rubric as the main points and sections for
the poster. The rubric elevated if we talked about things such as the results, data, and campaign efforts so I made sure we titled the different sections of
the poster with what was being evaluated. This why I was sure we would hit all the major points that we wanted to talk about. We began finding
pictures and data and tried to figure out how it would all be incorporated in. After some trial and error, we had the basis of our poster. I realized that the
poster did not really flow so I suggested moving the sections around so they could be read left to right, starting with the objective of the project and
ending with the conclusion. In around 4 hours we had completed the poster to our satisfaction, making sure everyone's input was accounted for. We
assigned sections for each member to discuss during

Objectives Of Oral Presentation
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1. PROBLEM STATEMENT
In the society that is developing with every passing day, making oral presentation and doing group work have become basic skills serving for not only
studying and teaching but also students' future jobs in many areas.
There is no denying that making oral presentation skills have great significance. There are two main aims of oral presentation as the following: giving
information and persuading the audience about the opinions or ideas in specific topics (Bowman, 2002). With the purposes mentioned above,
nowadays, it is necessary for a lot of fields in life. Because of the necessity and the usefulness of oral presentation, it enters the compulsory subject lists
of many programs in most of university all over the world and IPE program is one of them. Presentation skill is one of the most important part of the
group of courses about professional skills that is essential in English working environment that I have learned in IPE program. Moreover, good
presentation skill is the requirement of many other subjects. There are a lot of factors contributing to a good oral presentation. Among them, preparation
is the first key to make a successful oral presentation (Noer, 2013). In this study, I will focus on the preparing stages in making presentation process.

Therefore, an investigation into the weaknesses of students in group work during preparing for oral presentation is necessary. It can help students to
realize the common weaknesses and avoid them, so IPE students' process of group work in preparing for oral presentations will be effective and
successful. My research study may be helpful for next generations of IPE programs in making group presentations. Besides, it may be useful reference

Rhetorical Triangle
Rhetorical Triangle Discussion Board
PSP111–1001B–03 Presentation Essentials
Rhetorical Triangle is the active correlation between the speaker, the audience, and the situation of a presentation or speech. The rhetorical triangle
determines the success of a presentation or speech. When a speech executes the three primary elements of the speaker, the audience, and the situation in
balance the Rhetorical Triangle is effectively complete. It is important for a speaker to give equal relevance to all three elements to have a successful
result. The Rhetorical Triangle has three equal elements that create the triangular depiction. The speaker element involves the person giving "an oral
message to the listener" (Lucas, 2008, p. 17).

There are different sessions that one can attend to acquire knowledge. A workshop is unique because it is a brief educational experience designed for a
specific group. A discussion encourages social interaction and open conversation. A discussion is less informal and is more interactive than a lecture or
workshop. A group activity is used to encourage and promote cooperative elements when trying to reach a goal. It is most appropriate when trying to
promote cooperation and support among persons. Social interaction in groups is relevant to the progression of the project or goal. Group activity
involves "struggling to understand one another, especially in the face of pressures and contradictions that typically drive groups members to shut down"
(Kaner, Lind, and Toldi, 2007). Group activity can remain motivated by having individual and group responsibilities. The four approaches to a
presentation are all very distinctive but with the successful execution of the Rhetorical Triangle each can be presented effectively.

Adding addition topics to groups would have been an overload of information. Claude pepper, I believe that information was just too much. I think we
lost our audience within five minutes of our presentation. Not because of the presenting but mainly because of the medical condition of our audience. In
addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career information. These young mothers would have benefited to know
about the hygiene career. Add a slide in my presentation going over flexibility and pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our group's presentation, I did
not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience needs. At red apple center, we cover denture care, nutrition, OHI. The we attended
probably didn't need denture care. As a group we covered it due to the request of the director. These topics was requested by the site's director, who
know what our audience needed to focus on. This course needs no change. I would like to suggest, setting up a table on Tuesday during PHSC lunch,

In the past few weeks, Cristina, Oscar and I worked together on our group presentation – Should HIV positive workers have to tell their employers of

group, making it harder to have the work done. Last, I believe there were some aspects of the group collaboration that could have gone better.

At night, I looked at the progress of the rest of the team, seeing only the title and the definition of HIV on the google slides. I started to worry but did
not do much progress on the presentation until the next day due to exhaustion. Sunday morning, the same two slides were there, so I continued the
presentation as to how I believed it should be done because there were slow responses from the rest of the team. Cristina answered saying that she had a
bad signal, making it difficult for her to work on the project and that she will work on it when she gets back to Brownsville, so I understood her
situation. We could say that lack of communication was also a problem when creating the presentation. It took me about three hours to complete 6–8
slides of the presentation leaving the rest for Oscar and Cristina.
In addition, the lack of leadership within the group was poor. I realize now that I should have taken initiative from the beginning, so everything could
have run smoothly. During class, after we decided how the research was going to be conducted, we started to converse on how the presentation was
going to be organized. Oscar suggested that we should inform the audience with information about HIV and present the argument and conclusion
respectively. At first, we all agreed, but at the day of the actual creation of the presentation, I thought that the organization was too broad. I took the

My Group Presentation Was Over Myasthenia Gravis
My group presentation was over myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular auto–immune disease that is characterized by fatigable
weakness in the skeletal muscles. This occurs at the neuromuscular junction, in which acetylcholine that is being released by the pre–synaptic neuron
attaches to receptors at the post–synaptic neuron in order to generate a muscle contraction. Basically the body produces antibodies that block, alter, or
destroy these receptors thus halting motor neurons from signaling the muscles to contract. It is currently unknown why the body makes these
antibodies. There are a multitude of ways of treating MG these include anticholinesterase, steroid, and immunosuppressant medicines. In my paper, I
will focus on the most long–term solution of thymectomy by first giving an overview of characteristics of the surgery, then contrasting open
thymectomy (trans–sternal and trans–cervical) and video–assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), and finally focusing on the overall effectiveness of the
surgery. First we must define the term thymectomy, why it is needed, who should receive it, and the goals of the surgery. A thymectomy in layman's
terms is the surgical removal of the thymus gland. The thymus plays a major role in immune defense for the human body. As already stated MG is an
autoimmune disease in which the body makes antibodies that disrupts the function of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The thymus gland has been
found as the main source of

The first experiment to suggest a possible decrement in individual motivation as a result of working in a group was conducted over 70 years ago by a
German psychologist named Max Ringelmann (Latane et al 1979; Karau & Williams 1993). In the experiment, he had people pull on a rope either
alone or in groups. He noticed that, as more and more people are added to a group pulling on a rope, the total force exerted by the group rose, but the
average force exerted by each group member declined. In addition, the results show an inverse relationship between the size of a group and the
magnitude of group member's individual contribution to the accomplishment of the task. Latane et al. (1979) continued Ringelmann study by
conducting an experiment in which they had participants clap and shout, either alone or as a member of a group. Researchers measured how loud the
participants clapped and shouted in various conditions and found that participants in the group condition clapped and shouted significantly less loudly
than those in the alone condition. The researchers reasoned that social loafing occurred because people assume that other members of the group will not
pull their own weight, and, therefore, they should not work any harder than their fellow group members. In addition,

Group Presentation Analysis

  • 1. Group Presentation Analysis Group presentations have never been my forte. I really disagree with having to work with others because mostly always one of the members is the one that does most of the work and that one member is usually me. In this case I was assigned to work with three other girls which were Amy Cruz, Diana Maldonado, and Emily Alvarado. We had to come up with an argument with the topic of why should vaccinations be mandatory. Each of us collaborated fairly to the final presentation. At the beginning, we lost a person which was Emily. We emailed he several times and waited for her to be in class and she never showed up. We eventually decided to ask the professor what was going on and we learned that she had dropped the class. We were then down to three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can't complain I was assigned a great team to work with. We all worked fairly in the making of the PowerPoint in my opinion. We talked to each other often and got everything done. No arguments were presented and we talked through each and everyone's ideas and kept the best. In my opinion the most difficult part of working together was that Diana's email was down for a while and we could not reach her the day before the presentation to make sure everything was ready, but other than that everything else worked out fine for us. In conclusion, I really liked working with Amy Cruz and Diana Maldonado. I would work with them again any time. I am also glad that for the first time, I did not end up doing most of the work and had the experience of working on an effective group. In my opinion I think every group assignment should be fairly work on and not just one member end up doing all the work for everyone so they can earn an easy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Powerpoint: Group Analysis Usually I would not want to be a part of a group for an essay project simply because I wouldn't want to put my grade in jeopardy, however, my recent experience has made me rethink my initial opinion. Being able to work in a group has taught me a lot and it will help me in my future by allowing me to work well with others and put a greater importance on making my communication skills better, get work done in a timely manner, plan and compromise, as well as collaborative work. To start off the beginning stages in preparing the group research PowerPoint we were placed into random groups, this helped me by not giving me the opportunity to just try and pick my friends to do the project. I got to work with classmates I wouldn't usually associate with, taking me out of my comfort zone and opening my mind to new ideas, and friendships. As a group we then selected a topic we all wanted to do a presentation on which was "should school officials be allowed to search student's lockers?" It was a very controversial and excellent topic to do both research and present. As a group we organized our presentation by splitting the PowerPoint into four sections, the first being background information, the second was stating the problem, third was the refutation, and last being a call ... Being able to work with a group to arrange a presentation taught me to work on my communication skills, which came to use when we needed to turn in our part of the project to put the presentation together. At the beginning of the project everyone in the group was doing their own thing which soon to realize was not a good idea due to the fact that it wasn't helping the presentation flow. After getting into contact with everyone and actually planning out what we were going to focus on, the presentation came ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. A Report On Global Business Environment Teamwork In today's fast–moving, ultracompetitive global business environment, you can't rely on stable teams to get the work done. Instead, you need "teaming" (Edmondson, 2011). A team is a unit of two or more people who interact and coordinate their work toward a goal to which they are committed and hold themselves mutually accountable (DM p. 588). We had to work in teams and not as a group to get effective results. The steady venture groups we grew up with still work delightfully in numerous settings. By pulling together the right individuals with the right mix of abilities and preparing and giving them an opportunity to assemble trust, organizations can perform huge things. During our entire presentation, the goal of our group was to get an A plus in the overall grade paper and the mission was to get an A plus in the group assignment as well. With the target set and the objectives well defined we set up the schedule in terms of group meetings and the content division among group members equally. During dividing our content into creative and data analysis, we asked around quickly as to which group members had a high technical or conceptual skills, these group members were in charge of getting the presentation graphics and templates made and rest of us decided the text that had to be gone in each slide. After motivating and communicating loopholes by discussing each group member's contribution during our group meetings we began compiling stuff together. The biggest ... • 7. Rhetorical Devices Used To Characterize The Apca The ASPCA is an amazing organization that has provided aid for thousands of animals. ASPCA stands for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and it has groups all over the world working to better the lives of animals and protect them from abuse. My group's presentation showed what the values of the ASPCA are and why people should donate to it. My groups presentation successfully presented the ASPCA is convincing way to get people to donate. We did this by showing authoritative figures that support the ASPCA and by showing the amount of animals that are hurt or killed each day as well as the amount of animals that are saved. We were also successful because we showed how the general public can help ASPCA foundation. Our presentation effectively displayed images that allowed it to be successful. Such as pictures that showed the conditions animals are rescued from as well as showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We used Ethos, logos, pathos and Kairos. Ethos was displayed in our presentation through our pictures and video of celebrities which showed the audience that our organization is creditable. Logos was also evident in our presentation through our facts about how many animals are euthanized and how many cases of animal hoarding occur each year. As well as logos we also used pathos which was shown through our video and pictures. The video's goal was to make people feel pity and sadness for the animals so that they would donate. The last rhetorical device that we used was Kairos which refers to when something happened or is going to happen. An example of this device in our presentation was when we wanted the audience to donate money we said our message was that the audience should donate now because we wanted it to convince the audience that donating was important. This strategy demonstrated Kairos and allowed our presentation to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. My Group Presentation During Week 10 My group presentation during week 10 was around the topic of women at work and more specifically maternity and paternity leave. A common perception of teamwork is that you either have a group that that works well together and finishes the assignment ahead of time or you have group where there is little communication and the assignment is a last minute activity resulting in a grade that is truly reflective of the effort and time taken. Fortunately for myself the group that was formed for this assignment worked well together and produced an exceptional presentation. I enjoy teamwork as it allows for ideas to be bounced off one another and a better understanding of issues and problems to be well comprehended. As well as being a chance to incorporate individuals talents within presentation new skills and the development of existing skills. Personally I feel as though I have a good level of skill for presenting an idea however I lack in the preparation are of a presentation I prefer to present something to an audience rather than find and conduct research for a presentation. However the other people in my group were good at finding information and crafting a brief outline around the presentation. This worked quite well for our group as we had a couple of confident speakers whom brought the presentation together. Where others succeeded in producing and finding evidence to back up our stated methods in which work should be done. The topic of maternity leave and paternity leave ... Throughout this project I believe my interpersonal skills were good but there were plenty of improvements I could have made, I have been really successful in developing my interpersonal skills, I believe that it should be important that every student has the opportunity to improve their presentational skills or communication skills because at some point they will need it. Unit 1 had tested my confidences and had me use a variety of interpersonal skills such as eye contact, movement, body language and my written techniques was also put to use and assessed in this unit. I worked with a classmate when creating the presentation. I created the slides while he did research on the topic and as our presentation was about computer components, my group member suggested that we borrow a motherboard from I.T support to support our presentation. All in all we managed to finish the presentation in less than a week, and we passed first time around, we were the first group to present in our class and I and my team member think we did pretty well. I chose to work with one person for our presentation because then it's easier to communicate with one person and we could split the responsibility so it was easier to manage. What I have learnt from watching others present having watched my peers/classmates presentations I have basically picked up a few do's and don'ts while presenting. Some groups made obvious mistakes and they had to re–do the presentation, at the end of the presentation we had to assess the group which presented and then point out places for improvement. For example a few groups kept making the same mistake by facing the board and just reading of the board while others just stood there not participating hiding while other members of their group presented, there was this one incident where one group copied and pasted a text which they were unable to ... • 17. Reflective Essay On Group Presentation Reflection Paper Honestly, my personal experience during this group presentation was pleasant without too many difficulties. I tried to manager my time in order to have my paperwork and presentation completed before the due date. However, some incompatibilities with some of the team member's schedule were one of the inconvenient found during this process. My journey was initiated through a survey and review of the chapter 25th which is referent to workplace issues, Nursing Today book; I also checked other chapters related to safety such as chapter 22 on patient's safety and chapter 11 on how to obtain a safer communication. During our first interaction as a group on March 18th 2016, we discussed the chapters involved in the presentation, and which type of presentation should we develop. We had some ideas in order to make the presentation more dynamic and interactive. One of these ideas was to create a game such as jeopardy or a production of our own video which would foster a better interaction. I sent it through text message and via email, then which one of us would be able to select the topic that appeared more interesting to each one. Mrs. Bossi is a registered nurse at Geisinger Community Medical Center. During her lecture, she discussed multiple things of importance. Some of these things were leadership, regulatory requirement, quality and safety/performance improvement and hospital operations. In regards to leadership, she mentioned the different positions of the staff in the hospital. The high ranking officials, such as the CEO, CNO, and COO, are the ones who keep the hospital running smoothly and make sure that standards are met. Regulatory requirement involves the Department of Health, Joint Commission, and Medicare. The Department of Health regulates hospitals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Barbara Bossi also came a second time and gave us a presentation on inpatients. She talked about protocols and diagnosis. An example of which is when a patient has a heart attack and is brought to the hospital. The staff has to make sure the patient receives aspirin upon arrival. Another example would be when a patient is going to surgery and the staff has to make sure that patient's skin is prepped and the antibiotics are set. Some goals that she talked about are improving the accuracy of patient identification, improving communication among care givers, improving the safety of medications, working to avoid infections, and reconciling medications across continuum of care. She also talked about improving admissions for emergency rooms, choosing where the patient gets relocated, direct admission, and after surgery requirements. In our group presentation I learned about Medical fraud and abuse. The main point of my article was the prevention, detection, and reporting of fraud and abuse. Medicare fraud and Abuse are two very different thing. Fraud is defined as making false statements or representations of material facts to obtain some benefit or payment for which no entitlement would otherwise exist. Abuse, on the other hand, describes practices that either directly or indirectly results in redundant costs to the Medicare program. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through constructive feedback, I helped my peers learn additional information regarding the law topics provided in the discussion forum. It was important for me to provide conversation within the online learning environment that was constructive and informative. In addition to my posts, it was important for me to provide helpful information to further the discussion of my peer's responses. It is only nominal to agree with a peer's statement. Diverse and effective feedback lies with analyzing someone's post then responding to peers with pertinent dialogue while adding additional key points. 2. I have shown commitment and work ethic by reading the syllabus and knowing the expectations required by the school and professors. It is important to take each assignment and rubric seriously as well as complete them in advance. Throughout intensives, I have taken detailed notes to better understand school law. The Advance School Law intensive provided the opportunity to work in groups for collaboration. • 25. Reflection About Group Presentations We all certainly have to do group presentations during our student life. This method of study is vital, as "it is a successful alternative or addition to the traditional term paper. It can balance the student 's educational experiences by providing training in oral communication, interpersonal skills, and analytical thinking." (King 1990, p.77). Therefore, it is necessary for us to reflect on what we have done and learnt through group presentations. In this essay, I would have a look back at what I experienced and learnt from the BCM110 group assignment. Our assignment was to work together and do research on a media issue that we studied in the lectures. After four weeks, we had to give a class presentation on what we had researched. Our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, our main issue is "Groupthink". Groupthink is defined as "the pressure to conform within a group interfering with objective analysis of a problem and causes poor group decision making." (Dwyer 2013, p.221). There was lack of discussion regarding new ideas in our team. No contradictions were often made, and we always reached agreement very quickly because we all seemed want to avoid conflict. For instance, when a member said Powerpoint was simple and time–saving than other presentation methods, we all quickly agreed to choose Powerpoint without no further arguments. As a result, our presentation seemed quite boring compared with other groups who created a play. To avoid "Groupthink" , we can apply the "brainstoriming" strategy to encourage creativity and diversity of ideas. We should write up all the ideas and generate possible solutions, eliminate duplicate ideas to find the most effective solutions. Regarding my individual performance, I was a responsible member and always actively listened to other members' ideas to give constructive feedback. I focused on what other members said and encourage them to express their viewpoint. For example, when we discussed on fandoms, I wanted to talk about Monsters – the fanclub of Lady Gaga while Teskana preferred the example of One Direction. However, I listened to the reasons Tes gave, and finally agreed that One Direction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I facilitated in the middle face in the 3rd–week of the group sessions the group members are from different cultures and ethnic, the number member in my group are 8 people including me, there are 6 women and two men, the name of the group are Ivonne Carrillo, Javier Gomez, (was missing the day) Yadira Lara, Sandra Sanchez, Janneth Quevedo, Vanessa Rios, Terence Sinabajije, and me, Rocio Mendoza. The date when I lead the group was November 7, 2016, and I made a facilitator plan for 40 minutes. The plan for the day that I facilitated was focused on the topic that we choose in the preliminary phase which was culture gender and values. The theme that I choose to talk about in my session was about Gender Stereotype discussion. At the beginning part of the group for the first 10 minutes, I started by introducing myself and explaining confidentiality, then I use the Sessional Turning In skill. According to Shulman (2015) explain that "The leader attempts to develop anticipatory sensitivity before each meeting, to themes that could emerge during the session." (p. 487). First of all I talk about confidentiality than I started doing a review of the previous session, in which Yadira was the facilitator and she talked about gender role and traditions. Therefore we did a brief recap of what happening in the last meeting to make sure we are on the same page. After the review, I practiced the sessional contracting skill to ... One of the participants states that they are having a difficult time understanding the issues involved and asks ''Why don't the women just leave the situation and make a better life? What may be your internal reaction (thoughts, feelings, etc.) to this question and what answer would you give the participant? Be SPECIFIC– WRITE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WOULD DO AND SAY. In my first response to the Pre–Inventory Questions I stated that the participant was conclusive and judgemental. This is in line with what I have learnt during the course of studies. Though I now have a deeper understanding of how our assumptions influences the way we process information and the need to develop critical, reflective skills that is essential to deconstructing any underlying assumptions. I have also learnt about the default assumptions based on Eurocentricity ideals of the helping process. From my point of view I can see that the participant asking this question does not understand how the personal and the political are interrelated and how this affects individual within the society. It is obvious that this participant is already blaming the victim by implying that the victim is responsible for their individual plights, he is using a deficit lens to judge the women based on his assumption that there is something in the individual's personal disposition that is limiting their ability to escape an ... • 33. Essay On Reflective Reflection This reflective report is going to demonstrate an outline of our group dynamics leading up to and during the presentation. The purpose of this is to learn from the experience so that any other future group presentations will be improved. I will also give my opinion to what I have learnt in regards to presenting and overall my ability to work in a team. The Preparation Whilst not all of us who were assigned to this group chose the topic of Degrowth as a first preference, we all remained very positive. Our teamwork and optimism made it easier to allocate tasks and come up with unique ideas. During our first meeting we looked through the assignment requirements and pulled apart each individual section that would be discussed in our presentation. This was also the time we connected via Facebook and started a group chat that included a Google slides document. Each person in our group was assigned a particular section. I was given the positives attached to the degrowth idea, Alexander was given the negatives, Karen and Jennifer were allocated the concepts and explanation of what degrowth is, Michael and Lyndal were given real world examples and Harun was given the social aspects. Unfortunately, we were unable to connect with Harry and he did not end up sending us any information. Other than that small issue, we had no problems when organising each member of the group and allocating tasks. The entirety of the group got along very well. At first, the group struggled to understand the concept of degrowth. We were allocated our sections in the assignment however, we did not quite understand what we had to write about. To overcome this, the group became very active in the Facebook chat and would send each other videos and articles related to our topic. Due to this, I was able to understand my position better and start my section of the assignment. Our group chat was frequently active and it was where able to organise group meetings. We would often meet up after class and let each other know how we were coping, this helped to create a strong group dynamic. After working in a team I discovered that I was able to learn the content on a deeper level and understand the concepts much more clearly. Working together on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Communication The first day on MOP class, the group member was assigned by the lecturer for the group assessment. I felt anxious and excited as I have never seen almost all of the classmates faces before. Finally, I ended up with one girl who I knew as we are in the same course, however, she did not recognise me until I told her that we went to the same classes. It makes me realised that a communication is important. There were another two guys and two more women, which made us a representative of four different countries. I was confused on what topic should I talk to them and started asking some basic questions. Though we have different cultures, we could talk, jokes, even sometimes dishing our own country which made barriers of communication vanished. This relates to Nardon, Steers, & Sanchez–Runde ... • 46. Reflection On Group Presentation For our group presentation, my peers and I had a group chat and a shared file to work with. Most of our communication was via Facebook Messenger and Google Docs and during class time. Though this method eased our work and gave us flexibility, it also caused some problems that we did not foresee. I expected this project to be taxing, but instead found it much easier. The group overall was about the same as an essay, but with a visual twist which was interesting. When my classmates and I were able to work on our group PowerPoint, we made an outline of what we wanted our slides to be. We decided to have a two slides per argument; one for the actual argument and the other for an image, graph or any other supporting evidence. Then we added a title, intro, conclusion and a work cited slides. After creating an outline, we distributed the arguments evenly, but did not mention the remaining slides. To have the PowerPoint file available to all of us, we uploaded it onto Google Drive and shared the file with the group. We did not, however, specify what kind of tone we wanted in the presentation. This caused us all to aim for different types of presentations rather than creating a cohesive project. For the next few days, Jose, Pricsilla, and I were reading through articles about welfare and states who are already drug testing their recipients and how much money they spend each year. If you were presenting the sales figures to everyone individually you could use different types of communication channels. If you were presenting to managers, a formal communication channel would be acceptable. An example of this would be the presentation you are giving in a meeting room; you would want to present the material in a professional manner to ensure that you are proficient in what you are presenting. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the purpose of the group presentation, we were set to create a formal group of 4 and carry out a task. Upon forming a groups individuals must identify the important factors that can affect the success of the group, whether or not individuals will be able to work well with each other or have conflicts amongst each other. These important factors are : * Communication * Personality * Conflict * Self Awareness * Leadership When looking at the factor communication, we know that communication is "the process by which information is exchanged between a sender and a receiver." (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2010). From this we can understand that without communication nothing can be done, members of the group need to be able to communicate with one another in order to complete the assignment; but communication is not always as simple as talking to one another, you also must be able to understand what you are being told, and this is where other factors like cultural difference and physical surroundings have to be taken into consideration. Cultural difference can hinder your communication because of the difference in pronounciation, accent and tone of voice. Physical surroundings can also be an issue because one will not be able to concentrate in room full of people shouting. Leadership involves focussing on a goal, getting co–workers inspired and driven to act upon the specific goal and providing necessary support and incentive to achieve (Porter–O'Grady, 2003). Leaders should be able to develop an effective and strategic plan of action which visualises the future whilst effectively motivating and managing a team to reach the end goal (Mahoney, 2001). • 56. Reflection On Group Presentation The purpose of this essay is to reflect on our group presentation. The task was to launch a new product/service in the UK. I will be analyzing and evaluating on our experience throughout all the stages. Our group consisted of five members. The first step was to meet the group and get to know each other. However, for this meeting, two members including me didn't show up. This made it harder for me to share my ideas and I ended up working more individually than as a group. After the first meeting, two of the hardest working members of the group strike an idea for a service to launch in the UK,something which would benefit us health wise and financially. We then came up with questions and started answering them and thus brainstormed a plan. They then split the work into six sub–topics. This made the researching task very easy, as we were five and each one of us chose a sub–topic that we wanted to do and the sixth sub topic was split between two members. There were no arguments over the selection of the sub–topics, and that was a positive sign about the group for us. The group was always in touch with each other through a WhatsApp group and emails, which is very important for group work. "Communication–the human connection– is key to career and personal success" (Paul J Meyer). The work was more individual based now, I chose Business Strategy and was willing to do half of Operational Strategy as it was the sub topic that required the most work so we decided to split it into two. During this time, is where I felt we were not functioning well because no one volunteered nor was interested to help me with the operational strategy. However, we all finished our sub topics and submitted it to one of the members who then created the powerpoint and sent it to all of us. There were no arguments until we were supposed to meet after a class to practice our presentation as a group and to make final changes. Only two of the members attended, unfortunately I did not go to this one as well and one of the members was really unsatisfied and unhappy with our commitment towards the presentation. Our main goal of communication was to inform the audience on what exactly each –ism is, discuss where each one is found, and how the are influenced in today's society. From the start of the group presentation process, I found myself being an emergent leader. With a lack of communication when our group first got together, I felt we were in need of leadership because it seemed nobody else was going to do anything such as getting each others numbers or creating a group name, so I decided to take charge the best I could. As time went on our group started to get our stuff together. With that said if we all began brainstorming and set up some procedural needs from the start, the group would of been on the same page and maybe some wouldn't have waited until the last moment. • 62. Objectives Of Oral Presentation CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION 1.1. PROBLEM STATEMENT In the society that is developing with every passing day, making oral presentation and doing group work have become basic skills serving for not only studying and teaching but also students' future jobs in many areas. There is no denying that making oral presentation skills have great significance. There are two main aims of oral presentation as the following: giving information and persuading the audience about the opinions or ideas in specific topics (Bowman, 2002). With the purposes mentioned above, nowadays, it is necessary for a lot of fields in life. Also, I presented with my group. The presentations were about topics that not many people knew by heart. It required a bunch of research and time in order to come up with a nice pronation The presentations were awesome. One of the groups covered the topic of women rights back then. I was shocked with that information. Women during that time were considered inferior to men. Also, their vote didn't count. They depended totally of their husbands; women were almost completely silent. The group presented all that information incredible with great organization and motivation. Every person was clear in what they were explaining. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 66. Rhetorical Triangle Rhetorical Triangle Discussion Board PSP111–1001B–03 Presentation Essentials Rhetorical Triangle is the active correlation between the speaker, the audience, and the situation of a presentation or speech. The rhetorical triangle determines the success of a presentation or speech. When a speech executes the three primary elements of the speaker, the audience, and the situation in balance the Rhetorical Triangle is effectively complete. It is important for a speaker to give equal relevance to all three elements to have a successful result. The Rhetorical Triangle has three equal elements that create the triangular depiction. The speaker element involves the person giving "an oral message to the listener" (Lucas, 2008, p. 17). A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are different sessions that one can attend to acquire knowledge. A workshop is unique because it is a brief educational experience designed for a specific group. A discussion encourages social interaction and open conversation. A discussion is less informal and is more interactive than a lecture or workshop. A group activity is used to encourage and promote cooperative elements when trying to reach a goal. It is most appropriate when trying to promote cooperation and support among persons. Social interaction in groups is relevant to the progression of the project or goal. Group activity involves "struggling to understand one another, especially in the face of pressures and contradictions that typically drive groups members to shut down" (Kaner, Lind, and Toldi, 2007). Group activity can remain motivated by having individual and group responsibilities. The four approaches to a presentation are all very distinctive but with the successful execution of the Rhetorical Triangle each can be presented effectively. • 68. Dental Hygiene Career As a final journal, I will explain what events made an impression on my dental hygiene career as well as how the community was affected positively and negatively. What went well in all of the presented presentation; knowing the information, having an attentive audience, and presenting with confidence. Our first presentation was at the Red Apple adult center, we had props to help clarify the information. Information presented was descriptive to distinguish each section of the presentation. At the end of the presentation, we played a game called spine and show. The did very well by responding to all questions. When it all done and over, we received hugs and a lot of questions about stains on teeth. Another point that worked well during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adding addition topics to groups would have been an overload of information. Claude pepper, I believe that information was just too much. I think we lost our audience within five minutes of our presentation. Not because of the presenting but mainly because of the medical condition of our audience. In addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career information. These young mothers would have benefited to know about the hygiene career. Add a slide in my presentation going over flexibility and pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our group's presentation, I did not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience needs. At red apple center, we cover denture care, nutrition, OHI. The we attended probably didn't need denture care. As a group we covered it due to the request of the director. These topics was requested by the site's director, who know what our audience needed to focus on. This course needs no change. I would like to suggest, setting up a table on Tuesday during PHSC lunch, letting the student be aware of our smoking and drugs and OHI care of our local student. Our PHSC students are unaware of our clinic and work we provide to our community. Setting up a table will allow students to be informed of their oral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 70. • 72. Group Reflection In the past few weeks, Cristina, Oscar and I worked together on our group presentation – Should HIV positive workers have to tell their employers of their status? Our task for this group assignment was to create a collaborative presentation on a controversial issue. In the process of creating the presentation, there were some problematic situations, which caused a moment of alarm. Also, there was a lack of leadership or guidance within the group, making it harder to have the work done. Last, I believe there were some aspects of the group collaboration that could have gone better. The presentation was not exemplary work, and I know that we could have done better. In the beginning of our research, we started to decide when and where was our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At night, I looked at the progress of the rest of the team, seeing only the title and the definition of HIV on the google slides. I started to worry but did not do much progress on the presentation until the next day due to exhaustion. Sunday morning, the same two slides were there, so I continued the presentation as to how I believed it should be done because there were slow responses from the rest of the team. Cristina answered saying that she had a bad signal, making it difficult for her to work on the project and that she will work on it when she gets back to Brownsville, so I understood her situation. We could say that lack of communication was also a problem when creating the presentation. It took me about three hours to complete 6–8 slides of the presentation leaving the rest for Oscar and Cristina. In addition, the lack of leadership within the group was poor. I realize now that I should have taken initiative from the beginning, so everything could have run smoothly. During class, after we decided how the research was going to be conducted, we started to converse on how the presentation was going to be organized. Oscar suggested that we should inform the audience with information about HIV and present the argument and conclusion respectively. At first, we all agreed, but at the day of the actual creation of the presentation, I thought that the organization was too broad. I took the organization into my own hands and told the rest of the members how the rest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. My Group Presentation Was Over Myasthenia Gravis My group presentation was over myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular auto–immune disease that is characterized by fatigable weakness in the skeletal muscles. This occurs at the neuromuscular junction, in which acetylcholine that is being released by the pre–synaptic neuron attaches to receptors at the post–synaptic neuron in order to generate a muscle contraction. Basically the body produces antibodies that block, alter, or destroy these receptors thus halting motor neurons from signaling the muscles to contract. It is currently unknown why the body makes these antibodies. There are a multitude of ways of treating MG these include anticholinesterase, steroid, and immunosuppressant medicines. In my paper, I will focus on the most long–term solution of thymectomy by first giving an overview of characteristics of the surgery, then contrasting open thymectomy (trans–sternal and trans–cervical) and video–assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), and finally focusing on the overall effectiveness of the surgery. First we must define the term thymectomy, why it is needed, who should receive it, and the goals of the surgery. A thymectomy in layman's terms is the surgical removal of the thymus gland. The thymus plays a major role in immune defense for the human body. As already stated MG is an autoimmune disease in which the body makes antibodies that disrupts the function of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The thymus gland has been found as the main source of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Loafing and Recommendations on How to Reduce Its Occurrence within Groups Working on University Poster Presentations Abstract Social loafing occurs in groups and reduces group effectiveness and productivity. Various literatures on social loafing reviewed suggest that the group size, the identifiably of the participants, the evaluation of their performance, people's beliefs about their feelings of uniqueness, envy, task difficulty, how people's beliefs about their feelings of uniqueness and expectations of co–workers are variables that influence social loafing in a group. The first experiment to suggest a possible decrement in individual motivation as a result of working in a group was conducted over 70 years ago by a German psychologist named Max Ringelmann (Latane et al 1979; Karau & Williams 1993). In the experiment, he had people pull on a rope either alone or in groups. He noticed that, as more and more people are added to a group pulling on a rope, the total force exerted by the group rose, but the average force exerted by each group member declined. In addition, the results show an inverse relationship between the size of a group and the magnitude of group member's individual contribution to the accomplishment of the task. Latane et al. (1979) continued Ringelmann study by conducting an experiment in which they had participants clap and shout, either alone or as a member of a group. Researchers measured how loud the participants clapped and shouted in various conditions and found that participants in the group condition clapped and shouted significantly less loudly than those in the alone condition. The researchers reasoned that social loafing occurred because people assume that other members of the group will not pull their own weight, and, therefore, they should not work any harder than their fellow group members. In addition, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
