This document provides details about a magazine and digipak pitch for the artist Ella Henderson and her song "Yours". It summarizes the chosen artist and song, moodboard inspirations focusing on winter coats, a vintage-style font called "FF Market", planned shot types including close-ups and establishing shots, a red envelope prop symbolizing love, location selection of Ferry Meadows in Peterborough, and requests feedback via SWOT sheets.
2. My Chosen Artist…
The reason why I have chose to use Ella Henderson as my artist, was because she is a recent artist to today’s music charts. I also do enjoy listening to most pop genre
songs, so this was relevant to my likes.
The song that I have decided to do of Ella Henderson’s is “Yours” I like the way where you can play about more with what you can film during the song e.g. black and
white effects for the filming. It is also quite a simple and slow song, meaning you can get more into the song and develop more to the song.
3. The Moodboard for my digipak/Magazine Poster…
The inspirations in which I gained from my Moodboard, was to
help me link in further ideas with the different scenes that would
go into the song.
For example, the use of the winter coat for the costume as it
matched in with the lyrics “I wear your winter coat”
The use of the images within the Moodboard, therefore helped
me develop my ideas and breaking down the structure of the
song with images, helping me to plan/develop my music video
further…
4. My final font…
The final font in which I have decided to go for is the font located to the
right of the page.
The reason why I have chose this font as my main use of font is because,
of the way it links in with the artist’s personality, she likes to be seen as a
vintage character, so I wanted to keep that in my designs so that I could
portray her as the artist. The reason why I have gone for this particular
font, is because of the way it looks fancy and an old type of writing. The
font is called “FF Market” I plan to use this as my only main font, as there
isn’t much writing I would like to use, except title and little information, as I
plan to keep them to a simple design and display the artist and the song
more.
The idea of having this is because when looking at existing designs for Ella
Henderson, her writing used is limited and I would like to keep to that
design for my own so that they all link in together.
5. Final Shot types and Prop I am using…
The shot types I would be using is side on “Close Up” and
a couple of “Mid Shots” with “Establishing shots” for many
location shots for the digipak and magazine poster.
The reason why I have decided to go with these is so that
the close up allows us to see more of the artist, put her as
more of the important feature. The mid shots are used just
to have the artist in as well as having more of the location
within the shot, as well as using the establishing shot, it
just allows us to get more of a view for my location used in
the music video as well as having the artist there to…
My Prop:
The prop, in which I have planned to use within
my music video, is the main feature of a “Red
Envelope”
However, the use of the colour red best suits
with the choice in props, this is because red
connotes with the idea of “love,” which is what
my chosen song is linked in with.
My main idea of using this prop is to show the
idea of her wanting to be his, which I thought
that showing something that is sealed and the
main idea that came into my notes was the
idea of a sealed envelope, to best suit the
purpose of the song and the features within it.
