MOOC: Introduction to Global
Hospitality Management
WHAT IS HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT?
1. Use of multimedia
 Their videos have maximum quality and they are
not too large enabling their users to download them
if they need.
 Each video is there to explain the topic in depth-it
comes with subtitles, users can either read, listen or
both.
 Audio files are there to help with the course
objectives because they go into detail.
2. Web design
 It has a consistent layout and orients
users throughout the site
 The font is just the right size and
readable, the page does not have too
many graphite, it is clear throughout
the whole site
3. Communication
 Assessment goals are clearly communicated to the users.
 They send out emails every week to make sure that
student evaluation and assessment is communicated
clearly.
How does this MOOC assist me in my
teaching?
• Knowledge Demonstration- this MOOC has a variety of assessments, namely a quiz, assignments,
discussions, and opinion blocks (people can read other people’s opinions). Therefore, it allows learners
to demonstrate their knowledge in more than one way.
• As a teacher I am able to learn more things from other people, get concepts in more than one
definition and I can also explains concepts to my learners in more ways because as people we
don’t understand the same way.
• Learner Support and Resources- in this MOOC I also learned how to support my learners,
for example provide more than one source, use not only academic resources but technical
resources too, and provide them with links for references.
