Beginner's Yoga - Yoga Studio of Austin
8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult)
This is a yoga class for those newer to yoga or those wanting a basic flow class. This
class will introduce foundational yoga postures, teach you how to breath, and help
you feel more comfortable in your yoga practice. Although this class moves at a slow-
er pace than our other vinyasa classes, you can expect to be challenged both mentally
and physically. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent).
Tabata Barre Workout - Yoga Studio of Austin
18+
This class combines Pilates, yoga and ballet movements, along with bursts of cardio (tabata), using a
ballet barre for support and resistance. This combination of movements provides a high-energy, full-
body workout. Close attention will be paid to posture and alignment, which encourages a long and
lean body. The class is set to high energy music in 80-85 degree temperature. Participants should
bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent).
Yin Yoga - Yoga Studio of Austin
18+
Yin Yoga is the deep stretching and lengthing of the body's fascia. Fascia is the connective tissues
linking bones, muscles and joints. Often times pain seems muscular but it is really hiding out in the
fascia of the body. Postures are held for a period of time to find opening and release. This is a qui-
eter class with an emphasis on turning inward, soft music will be played in a warm room. Poses are generally
exclusively done while lying on your yoga mat. This class is excellent for relieving aches and pains, finding
relaxation, and balancing your busy life. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are avail-
able to rent).

Core & Restore - Yoga Studio of Austin
8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult)
Combining core activating Vinyasa flow and holds, and the healing postures of yin
yoga, Core & Restore will give you the benefits of both a yin and yang practice. Class
will begin with Vinyasa core engaging postures, with the possibility of tabata/circuit
training movements. The second half of class will include postures to deeply release
the connective tissues of the body. Class will be lightly heated around 75 degrees. Participants should bring a
water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent).
All Levels Vinyasa - Yoga Studio of Austin
8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult)
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series
of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling.
Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like, which
explains why it is sometimes referred to as Vinyasa Flow or just Flow. This
class emphasizes core strength. You will not only clear your mind, you will
sweat and burn calories. This class is set to music and room temperature is 80-
90 degrees. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are
available to rent).

Restorative Yoga - Yoga Studio of Austin
8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult)
Restorative Yoga is a revitalizing, relaxing, and meditative yoga practice. Restorative poses help relieve the
effects of chronic stress brought on by our modern, fast paced lives. This practice is all about slowing down and
opening your body through passive stretching. Rather than actively positioning yourself, you will learn how to
"receive" the pose with the support of props, allowing your mind to slow down and meditate on the breath.
During this class, your body is fully supported in poses for 5 to 10 minutes. Participants should bring a water
bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent).
Hatha Flow - Yoga Studio of Austin
8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult)
Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In this class we will work to develop a bal-
ance of strength and flexibility as we learn to find equilibrium in our effort and surrender in each pose.
Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent).

Making the SOLARCHOICE – Is community solar right for me? - Austin
Utilities Staff Members
Solar is a hot topic in the utility world right now. For a variety of reasons from
shady locations to shabby rooftops, a solar project doesn’t make sense for many
homes and business. Community Solar can be a great alternative. A community
solar project—sometimes referred to as a solar garden or shared renewable energy
plant—is a solar power plant whose electricity is shared by more than one household. Austin Utilities will be
offering customers an opportunity to buy into a community solar project. Come to this workshop to understand
more about community solar so you can decide if it’s right for you.
Saving Energy 101 (Conserve & Save House Call Workshop) - Stacy
Boots Camp
Are your energy bills difficult to manage? Don't know how to reduce your energy

use and save money on their utility bills. Participants will also be able to sign up
for a comprehensive home energy audit (a $300 value) for a reduced co-pay of only
$25! (normally $50 – must be an Austin Utilities customer to receive audit).
Instructor Stacy Boots Camp is an outreach coordinator at the Center for Energy and the Environment. CEE
provides practical, innovative, energy solutions for homeowners, businesses, nonprofits, and government.

Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People - Charles Wilson, IKI Inc.
Did you know that there is a MUCH easier way to learn the piano than the note reading method that is nor-
mally taught? Note reading is for classical music. Modern music (rock, pop, country, blues, jazz) is ALWAYS
played using the chord method and the chord method is 100 times easier to learn than note reading — and a lot
of fun! Take this ONE-TIME 3 hour seminar and we will get you playing your favorite songs right away with
both hands.
Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People - Charles

it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along
with your favorite songs right away. Bring your acoustic guitar. Class limited to 15

This class will introduce foundational yoga postures, teach you how to breath, and help you feel more comfortable in your yoga practice. Although this class moves at a slow- er pace than our other vinyasa classes, you can expect to be challenged both mentally and physically. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent). Tabata Barre Workout - Yoga Studio of Austin 18+ This class combines Pilates, yoga and ballet movements, along with bursts of cardio (tabata), using a ballet barre for support and resistance. This combination of movements provides a high-energy, full- body workout. Close attention will be paid to posture and alignment, which encourages a long and lean body. The class is set to high energy music in 80-85 degree temperature. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent). Yin Yoga - Yoga Studio of Austin 18+ Yin Yoga is the deep stretching and lengthing of the body's fascia. Fascia is the connective tissues linking bones, muscles and joints. Often times pain seems muscular but it is really hiding out in the fascia of the body. Postures are held for a period of time to find opening and release. This is a qui- eter class with an emphasis on turning inward, soft music will be played in a warm room. Poses are generally exclusively done while lying on your yoga mat. This class is excellent for relieving aches and pains, finding relaxation, and balancing your busy life. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are avail- able to rent). uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Submit a Cover Photo Community Education is proud to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of Austin, MN. Restorative poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress brought on by our modern, fast paced lives. This practice is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During this class, your body is fully supported in poses for 5 to 10 minutes. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat (mats are available to rent). Hatha Flow - Yoga Studio of Austin 8+ (Ages 8-13 must be with an adult) Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites.
