Robert Fulton was
born in Pensilvania
on the 14th of
November 1765.
He was an engineer
and an inventor,
known for
developing the first
steamboat.
3. WHAT IS A STEAMBOAT?
It is a vessel pushed by a vapor
machine.
Currently it is not used.
4. WHY HE INVENTED IT?
He began interested in
steamboats in 1777
when , at age 12, he
visited the delegate of
Lancaster William
Henry , who had
studied the Watt steam
engine on a visit to
England.
5. THE END OF THE
STEAMBOAT
The cost of the travels in steamboats fell, and
they were cheaper, so it ended in bankruptcy.
He died of “pleurisy” when he was 49 years (24
of February 1815). He is buried in Manhattan,
N.Y.
