2. Punjab Election Result 2022: AAP Sweeps
Punjab, wins 89 seats
 The Punjab Elections 2022 Results have been declared for 109 seats out of the
total 177-member assembly.
 An AAP wave has swept across Punjab, with the party winning 89 seats and
leading in 3 seats still.
 Congress has won 15 seats and is leading in 3 seats, BJP has won 2 seats and
Shiromani Akali Dal has been reduced to 3 seats.
 The BSP has won one and an independent has also won one seat.
 AAP's Bhagwant Mann has recorded a resounding victory from Dhuri by a
massive margin of 58206 votes.
 The AAP MP from Sangrur is set to be the next chief minister of Punjab. The
current Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi has lost from both Bhadaur and
Chamkaur Sahib by 37558 votes and 7942 votes respectively.
 AAP candidate Jeevan Jyot Kaur defeated Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh
Sidhu and senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia from Amritsar East. Former
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh also lost from Patiala against AAP's Ajit Pal
Singh Kohli by a margin of 19873 votes.

3. Goa Election Result 2022: BJP closer to
Halfway Mark, Pramod Sawant Wins
 As the counting of votes for Goa Assembly elections 2022
continues on March 10, 2022, Chief Minister of Goa Pramod
Sawant, who is also a BJP candidate, has been declared
winner from his constituency Sanquelim with a margin of 666
votes.
 A total of 332 candidates are battling from the 40 assembly
seats of the legislative assembly of Goa. the winners of 10 seats
have been announced where BJP has taken a lead with 15
seats while Congress on second with 8 seats.
 Assembly polls in Goa were held in a single phase on February
14, 2022, and the outcome will be declared along with the
assembly results of four other states- Manipur, Uttar Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, Punjab.

4. UP Election Result 2022: CM Yogi Wins, BJP
Leads
 Vote counting for Uttar Pradesh assembly election
result 2022 is underway on March 10, 2022, for a 403
member assembly.
 As per the Election Commission of India, BJP is leading
with 247 seats in election results UP 2022 list with 7
candidates as declared winners.
 Major parties that will compete for the seats during UP
Elections Result 2022 are the Bharatiya Janta Party,
Congress, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party.

5. Uttarakhand Election Result 2022: CM Dhami
Loses, BJP Leads;
 The BJP is headed towards a clear victory in Uttarakhand Assembly
Elections 2022.
 BJP has so far won 10 seats and is leading in 37 seats, while
Congress has won 3 seats and is leading in 16 seats.
 Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is losing from
Khatima by 7225 votes.
 Harish Rawat is also on the verge of defeat from Lalkuwa
constituency.
 The Uttarakhand Assembly Polls 2022 were held in a single phase
on February 14, 2022.
 The Uttarakhand Exit Poll 2022 had predicted a neck-to-neck battle
between the BJP and Congress.
 However, BJP has a clear lead and is headed towards a resounding
victory in the state.

6. Manipur Election Result 2022
 The counting of votes is underway in Manipur today and
complete results of Manipur Elections 2022 will be
announced.
 So far, the BJP and JDU have won one seat each. While BJP's
Dr. Usham Deben Singh has won from Wabgal by a margin
of 683 seats against INC's Fajur Rahim, JDU's Ngursanglur
Sanate has won Tipaimukh by a margin of 1249 votes
against BJP's Chalton Lien Amo.
 The Manipur Assembly Elections were held in two phases on
February 28 and March 5th for a 60-member state
assembly.
 The incumbent government in Manipur is led by the
Bharatiya Janta Party, which is heading towards a historic
second term, solidifying its position in the state.

7. What is EVM? How does it work in India?
 The Electronic Voting Machine, also known as EVM, is an electronic
device used for casting votes. The EVM aims to make the electoral
process secure, fair and transparent.
The EVM is a tamper-proof machine.
 It is made of a one-time programmable chip, which cannot be
connected to any external device or network such as the internet,
wifi, USB or Bluetooth. Hence, it cannot be corrupted or modified
in any way possible.
The EVMS are allotted to the polling booths through an elaborated
randomization process.
 This way, there is no prior knowledge on which unit will go to
which polling booth almost until the polling date.
 The machines undergo mock polls at every stage to ensure that
they are in the right working condition.
