1. CHRISTMAS VIGIL MASS (25 -12-2017)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. The Advent‘campaign againsthunger and decease’ envelopes are available near the church entrance gate.
You may bring them back with your contribution and drop them in the community fund box or handover in the
parish office. Please write your complete address and other details.
2. The last Sunday, Bible Quest27 results are uploaded in the church website. The January Bible questwill be
held on 28th January in the letter to Romans.
3. Coming Monday, 1st January, we celebrate the Solemnity ofMother of God and New Year day. The New Year
vigil mass will begin with a Holy Hour at 10 pm. Our parishioners are invited to attend this thanksgiving holy
hour and thank God for all His blessings during the year 2017. New Year solemn mass will begin at 11pm. On
the New Year day, mass schedule will be - morning 7 in Konkani, and 8.30 in English. No evening mass on
New Year day.
4. The Sacrament of Confirmation for our youth will be administered by Bishop Allwyn D’Silva on the following
Sunday, 7th January. On that day, the 9.30 mass will begin at 10.
5. The PYC will be organizing Group Dance Competition as partof the Parish FeastCelebrations to be held in
January 2018. Further details will be given to you soon.
6. The mass bookings for masses can be done for the next6 months till June 30th in the parish office.
7. Like every year each registered family will receive a parish calendar as New Year gift. In case you have notyet
received it, contactyour PPC members.
8. Most of our neighbouring parishes have started the GREEN FUNERAL, also called Shroud burial or burial
without coffin. This is notonly good for environmentas it saves the trees used for coffin, but also economically
beneficial as they save coffin expenses.The Bombay diocese encourages this kind ofburial as it is in keeping
with the teaching of Pope Francis to save environment. Therefore, itis proposed to startshroud burials in our
parish starting from coming year, January 2018 onwards. If you have any suggestions,you may speak to any of
the parish fathers. For more information on the benefits of shroud burial, you can read the article in our church
website, PARISH section.
9. Due to the generosity ofvarious donors from our parish and outside the parish, this academic year, our parish
could help 12 poor students for their Higher education. According to the higher education fund scheme, the full
college fee ofa poor studentis paid by the parish. The studentwill return this amount in small monthly
installments. It is happy to know that, people continue to donate for this fund. This will ensure that, this facility
will continue even in the future years.
10. Families ofour parish will shortly receive your community fund status letters. In case you have notpaid your
C.F. for 2017, please do so. Shortly you will receive your C.F. status letters.
11. Whenever you come for any church work, please bring your Family handbook.
12. In the month ofJanuary, there will be no SCC meetings. Instead, the core groups will meetto prepare the
liturgy for the parish feast novenas. Themes and other details will be informed later.
13. The Bible Diary for 2018 has come. Contactliturgy stall. The bible diary contains the daily mass readings and
reflections, useful for personal and family prayer. Bible diary can be also used as a giftarticle for any occasion.
14. Finally, Dear parishioners on behalfof parish team, myself, Fr Henry and sisters ofHelpers ofMary wishing all
our parishioners a blessed and joyous Christmas. May the spiritofChristmas continue to remain in our homes
and in our hearts all throughout the coming year 2018. I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all those
parishioners helped in making today’s celebration a meaningful and joyful experience. Thanks to the liturgy
team, choir, ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, helpers who helped outin the church decoration,
Christmas Crib, stars, electrical and sound system work, Konkani Sodality, School peons, church workers, staff
and police personnel.
15. Now after the final prayer and blessing, the statue ofbaby Jesus will be keptfor veneration. Please follow the
decorum and maintain silence while coming for veneration. You can also pray to baby Jesus in the Crib near
the church entrance. Today morning masses will be Konkani at 7 and English at 8.30. There will be no evening
mass today.
16. Today and New year day, as you disperse after the church services, please take care ofyour belongings
including gold ornaments, mobiles etc.
