Comparison Of Superman And Siegel
In 1938, A new superman was born; One that is good and represents the very fabric of "truth, justice and the American way"– things that were lost as
an aftermath of The Great Depression. "Superman was like the better version of Siegel; A version who has the ability to save lives, including his
father's. Similar to Siegel, Superman is an 'alien' desperately trying to fit into the American Culture," Added Elsworth (telegraph.uk). Siegel too was an
'alien' as he was someone foreign to the American ways, considering his beginning as a jewish immigrant. "And just like Superman, he too wanted
desperately to fit in.
The poet, David Meltzer once said: "Superman came not out of our strength but out of our vulnerability." Superman became a symbol of hope and a
reassurance of safety. Superman represents the way America was supposed to be. He portrays someone who could save the lives of the innocent and
yet be kind enough to spare the lives of the criminals; Someone who could've saved Siegel's father. He was everything Siegel dreamed of becoming. ...

Aspen Skiing Company Alliance with Greenpeace
Aspen Skiing Company is being drawn into a risky alliance with Greenpeace led "Kleercut" about boycotting Kimberly–Clark industries. This report
will focus on the major stakeholders involved in this case and my personal action plans to help avoided a negative backlashing from the environmental
groups and the public.
What is a stakeholder? Business Today defined Stakeholder as "A person, group or organization that has interest or concern about an organization."
(Businessdictionary.com paragraph 1) In this case, the key stakeholders are Aspen Skiing Company and Kimberly–Clark industries. The boycott was
about how Kimberley–Clark industries engaged in sub–stranded environmental practices. Basically the company was green washing the industry; by
proclaiming it was an environmental friendly company, while at the same time destroying the forest trees in other countries.
ASC (Aspen Skiing Company) annual profit around 9 billion dollars a year. It's the front runner in environmental movement within the ski industry. It
was gaining respect in the environmental community. It was the firsts ski resort to buy into renewable power and took care of replanting its natural
surroundings. It's CEO Pat O'Donnell was the former president of an environmental education center.
ASC was spending billions of dollars to find way to cut down on destroying their natural surrounding
Joining the Boycott was a risky move for ASC. Even though, it was the leader in the environmental movement, the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Red Rock Canyon
In the city of Las Vegas, people go through the daily trails and tribulations that the city has to offer. People constantly on the go, worried about the
collection of money, pollution filling our lungs and tackled with the constant worries of reality. Being in the city, it seems as there is no escape
from the madness that is being offered. Surrounded by the man made building and artificial light that illuminates the struggle of these streets.
Although, there is a place that offers freedom about fifteen minutes away from the cities madness. A place where the air is fresh, a place where
gargantuan rocks act as buildings, a place where the sun, moon and stars are the source of light and a place that provides freedom from the worries of
the city. This center of nature providing freedom from the busy city life is Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon as a space has a rhetorical
significance as a location of freedom from city life with the multitude of space it provides. Red Rock Canyon serves as an example of space and place in
rhetoric and also creates ties to visual rhetoric with the unique scenery and imagery being offered. In addition aspects of memory such as cultural
memory and public memory can be connected to Red Rock. To begin this analysis of Red Rock Canyon, is the notion of Red Rock Canyon being a
place defined by its theory of rhetoric. According to Danielle Enders and Samantha Senda–Cook in their article " Rhetoric Matters: The Rhetoric of
Place in Protest", "Place refers to particular locations (e.g., a city, a particular shopping mall, or a park) that are semi–bounded, a combination of
material and symbolic qualities, and embodied. For example a city is semi–bounded by city limits (semi–bounded because these limits can be a matter
of debate, change over time, or be re–drawn within a single year), includes material structures like buildings and roads, has symbolic meanings such as
being perceived as a college town or an urban metropolis, and is experienced on a daily basis by the people who live, work, or visit it" ( Enders, Cook
Pg.259, 2011). Red Rock Canyon itself is a particular location that is semi–bounded by rules and regulation that are set within

My Experience At Tuskegee University
My experience began as early as college, when I used to volunteer with school going children in orphanages, and would advise them on the social
problems they faced in school. That is when I decided that being a school counselor was the "perfect" job for me. Having started at an early age, I
find that my expertise does in fact lie in helping students deal with social pressure, and helping them cope with the stress and frustration it brings. I
have also been successfully able to help students improve their self–esteem by making them focus on past successes, so that they may be able to garner
the strength for future aspirations. I don 't think age has any role to play when it comes to warming up to students. As long as they can find a mentor, a
guide and trust in someone, they are likely to open up to them.
As I started my college career at Tuskegee University, where I double majored in psychology and English. I was passionate about creating social
awareness and helping people, but I was unsure what career I was interested in after graduation. I thought about attending graduate school for
Counseling Psychology, but I just was not sure about it. I spoke to a professor in the Counselor Education program at Georgia State University and
discussed my interests with her. She suggested I look for a program accredited by Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational
Programs (CACREP) School Counseling. I enrolled in the School Counseling program at Clark Atlanta

The 's Mother, Kine Thiam
Born as Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, "Akon" was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 16, 1973, the son of Senegalese parents who traveled to the
United States for his birth in order to ensure that future immigration would not be a problem for them. His family returned to Dakar, Senegal, in West
Africa, when Akon was young and lived there until he was seven years old, when they moved back to the United States. He had a difficult time
adjusting to life in the United States. Akon's mother, Kine Thiam, is a dancer; his father, Mor Thiam, whom is a well–known as a jazz percussionist.
From Akon's influence from his parent, Akon had a strong love for music from an early age.
After growing up in Jersey City, New Jersey, Akon began singing and performing as a teenager. Surrounded by music at home, Akon developed an
early appreciation of various types of music, and he grasped influence from Stevie Wonder and Phil Collins to Steely Dan. As a teenager he grew to
love hip–hop music, and he began writing songs, blending R&B lyrics with hip–hop beat structures. Though he showed an early musical talent, Akon
did not believe he would succeed as a recording artist, and at a young age he turned to crime to make ends meet such as: gang banging and drug
procession.
After dropping out of high school, Akon moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he specialized in stealing high end automobiles, selling them, selling drugs,
and gun activities. After multiple attempts of auto theft, his criminal

NATURAL BORN WINNER, Agyei Pittman has a compelling story blended with trials, tribulations, and triumph. Recognized through and beyond the
streets of Metro Atlanta as Jay Grind, Grind is a living legacy. The self–sacrificial Marketing Specialist and entrepreneur is passionate in his expertise
and is generally observed working tirelesslyв€’ often extending service to the less fortunate. On yesterday, Grind was generous enough to offer his
valuable time to answer five personal questions that helps paint a clearer picture of his legacy. During the discussion with Grind, he was initially
asked if there was a person or situation that inspires him the most and gives his life purpose. "Probably my mom and dad because they stayed down
and carried each other. They made complex things look simple because of their team work," he explained. Indeed, having parental devotion as a part of
life is enriching to the core. Nothing compares to the sense of pride which develops when having unrelenting parents there to lead you down the right
path. That's priceless. Being a father, himself, is an honor that Grind doesn't take for granted. Rarely taking time out for leisure, Grind meticulously
balances a bustling occupation and being charitable with fatherhood.
At times in life, many of us regret or may have been embarrassed by prior circumstances that we have encountered. Moving into the second question,
Grind was asked had he ever felt ashamed of his past. "Yeah, I can say when we first moved around Caucasians. I didn't speak on Columbus, Ga that
much. I felt they wouldn't relate, so I never spoke on the disadvantage situations," he admitted. Grind's response is appreciated. Any unfamiliar
situation is prone to cause a level of anxiety. Also, being able to open up about the past is not the easiest thing to do.
Raising the third question, Grind was asked to name one of his greatest accomplishments. Brainstorming, he replied, "I guess graduating college and
never going to prison. I had my fair share of mis takes and wrong ideas about life. I'm just glad it never led me to being sent down the road for a long

`` Gasoline Alley `` By Frank King
In Gasoline Alley, Frank King uses closure to take an average human being, Skeezix, and place him into a surreal world, and in doing so immerses
his readers in the fantastic wonderlands they observe. In The Superman Chronicles, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster do the opposite by using closure to
take a surreal being and place him into the real world of the readers to show how alien Superman is to planet Earth. For clarity, closure is defined in
Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics as, "Observing the parts but perceiving the whole." Simply put, closure in comics allows the reader to
become an active participant in the story. This participation allows the reader to become fully immersed in the world of the characters which leads to
an experiential connection between the reader and the character. In order to understand how real and surreal are to be interpreted in this paper, they
must be defined. The Merriam–Webster Dictionary defines surreal as, "marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream," and defines real as, "not
artificial, fraudulent, or illusory...occurring or existing in actuality." The creators devise diametric plots, but the use of closure as a mechanism to
create the immersive worlds in which their readers and characters coexist are nearly the same. Frank King and Siegel & Shuster both use closure as a
vehicle to convey the concept that their respective characters are living representations of the opposition between real and surreal, this is evident in

Creative Writing: Lelia's Suicide
Honestly, malicious gossip couldn't have been further from the truth; it's just how it is in a small town. Like Samuel's father, his grandfather had
been a lawyer, and like Lelia's father, her grandfather had been a steamboat captain, nothing ever seemed to change. Lelia had sat at the same desk
where her teacher sat when she had been Lelia's age, attending the same high school. Frankly, in the tiny town of Cutler Harbor, Maine there were no
secrets and no mysteries lurking anywhere. For Lelia, the appeal of Owen remained the mystery and intrigue, not the handsome man himself. True,
Lelia flirted with Owen as she had with William Randall, III the year before. However, her heart belonged to Samuel Truman, and she had hoped he'd
be asking for her hand in marriage before he left... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"Gosh, Mother," Lelia said, standing on the checker kitchen floor, kicking her right foot at nothing. "He'll be gone and I won't see him until
Thanksgiving." Three months could seem a lifetime at Lelia's age. "Lelia Elizabeth, stop arguing and listen." Marion placed her hands on her
daughter's shoulder. "I said, yes. Yes, you may take the bus with Sam over to Ellingwood to see him off." Samuel gazed pensively at Lelia, her soft,
slate–blue eyes appeared dreamier than usual when she gazed up at him. With his heart beating faster than usual, Sam thought he felt Lelia faintly
trembling. Taking a step back so he could study her intently, he tried to sound convincing when he whispered: "Hey, come on now, it'll be okay." He
wiggled from one foot to the other. Facing her, Sam tightly intertwined his fingers around Lelia's white–gloved fingers. The couple stood with their
eyes locked, searching one another's soul. "Please, don't you dare cry; I'll be home before you can say Jack Robinson." Sam wanted to sound playful,

Analysis Of The Book ' The Kid '
The Kid There was a boy named Jamaal Charles. He lives on an orphanage at Whitmore Village. When he starts to grow, he often gets bullied and
thinks to himself, why am I still alive. One time when he was down by the river by himself, he saw a ledge that is like 8 stories high. He said "I hate
my life" so he closes his eyes and leaned forward and was falling down. He opened his eyes and realizes that he wasn't dead yet. He finally looked down
and saw that he was hovering above the ground. He started to move around a bit, figuring out how to move and trying to get down. He knew there
was more to live for, discovering his new abilities.
He now feels he's meant for something greater. The origins of his powers and his real birth parents has now come into question. Jamal now seeks to
overcome his fears as well as find out who his real parents are and why they left him.
The next day, something happened to The Bully. While he was home alone, he went down to his basement and noticed a stench. He looked for
what it is and he saw that its was a green shining blob. He looked a little closer and when he turn back to clean it up, he got scared of a hanging
spider. He fell into the blob and decided to shower. The next day, he felt stronger and uses that ability to bully people, especially Jamal. Finally, Jamaal
got tired of the bully, so he stepped up and told him to stop bullying other kids or else and the kid replied, "or else what?" Jamaal answered

What I Really Learned About My Undergraduate College Motto
When you have a good reason, you'll find a way. My undergraduate college motto was "Find a Way or Make One." While on the campus of Clark
Atlanta University is where I really learned what that meant. I recall complaining to my department chair about another professor, and I knew that
I was absolutely right. I knew the department chair knew I was right as well. She asked, "What did you do?" I then proceeded to run down a long
list of things I could have done to end up with a favorable result. I wasn't pleased at the time, but I got the lesson. I could not have both excuses and
results. My "why" was that I was going to be the 1st person in my immediate family to graduate from college. The "how" was any means necessary.

So often we undervalue or take for granted those skills and strengths that come to us naturally. What problems do you really enjoy solving or what

you then live in alignment with it. This inspires you come alive and flourish because we all need it. Still, we need motivation to keep going. This
brings you closer to discovering your why. Your why gives you meaning and direction. It provides you with clarity, helps you make decisions, and
gives significance to life. The most classic childhood questions is simply "why?" Even from a young age, we know intuitively that the motive
behind an action is the most important piece of any story. Knowing your "why" is a critical piece to living with intention. It answers why you want
something. This is just like asking, why is this important? The key here is that the more important something is to us, the more likely we will
continue doing it. For example, we seek good schools for our children because we want them to be successful or even safe. With success or safety as
motivating factors, some parents will drive their children all the way across town with the hopes of achieving that end. Similarly, your why supports
your purpose, fueling you to try again and work a harder. The more significant your

Characteristics Of Odysseus
As a kid, think of that one superhero that was on the TV or in comic books. What are some qualities that they had? Maybe Superman came to mind,
who was so strong that he could lift up entire buildings in the grasp of one hand, or stop a moving train from falling off a broken bridge. It could
have been the Flash, who had the ability to run around the world in seconds. He could run so fast that earth would spin in the opposite direction. Both
of these heroes would use their abilities for good, saving innocent people from villains and natural disasters. They have standout qualities that make
them the heroes that they are. There could be people who come to mind that may not have these superpowers, but are still considered heroes. For

If he had not told the cyclops the false name, than all of the other cyclops would have come down to help the injured cyclops, and his crew and him
would have ended up being killed. In this situation, Odysseus was able to save the lives of him and his crew by thinking of a way shut down one
of Polyphemus' defenses. The way he does this is not obvious, and requires cleverness to think it up. This plays into his image as a hero.
Odysseus' cleverness helps him get out of many situations, which but only leads into more of his favorable qualities. One of those qualities being
his great leadership and his ability to guide his crew out of difficult situations. An example of Odysseus' leadership in The Iliad is when Odysseus
comes up with the idea to attack troy with the trojan horse. The city of troy was enclosed in walls, making it very difficult for Odysseus to attack
them. They would need a great plan in order for them to be able to attack. This is where Odysseus steps in. He comes up with the idea to create the
trojan horse, and put his men inside. The trojans then take this horse inside their city, and believe that it is a gift from the spartans. The men inside the
horse then come out during the night time and kill everybody in the city, and return victorious. This example shows exemplary leadership by
Odysseus, because he comes up a brilliant plan to get inside the city, and then takes his army to victory. If nobody had

Challenge Convention, Change Our World
There was much to learn from the collective process of this group project. The journey from planning to the execution of the fundraiser was an
interesting one. There were numerous moments where we learned a lot, which were meaningful to us and will probably stay with us for a long
time, which were rewarding and gave the group a sense of accomplishment and at the same time there were moments when we were frustrated and
felt like everything was failing. Even after this memorable journey of ups and downs we successfully organized the fundraiser and learnt to work as a
group. After this management project our group as a whole understood what Clark really stands for: "Challenge Convention, Change Our World." In a
clichГ© way, this is true. There are many business schools that have the sole purpose to push their students to become Fortune 500 CEOs or
millionaires but Clark focuses on putting a social welfare spin into their business programs, which we truly appreciate even more now. This project has
motivated us to contribute even more to society and to integrate ourselves into the community. Some of us also want to work in a non–profit. This
project inspired us to work for non–profit organizations and to continue to work hard to be a successful businessman/woman, but also a
compassionate person in society. Working for this project helped us learn a lot of soft as well as hard skills. It helped us develop a discipline of
keeping group members updated about the current situations

Children in Poverty in Las Vegas
Poverty is a harsh condition which is relentless at any given age. The difference among poverty in children and poverty in adults is that poverty in

15 percent in 2008" (Rise in Poverty). The high levels of unemployment in parents seem to be the most influential issue that sets families under the
poverty line. "Similarly the number of children whose parents lack stable jobs has risen 6 points to 32 percent" (Rise in Poverty).

I aspire to attend the Clark Atlanta University because it is a symbol for past and future generations of educational and operational excellence. Clark
Atlanta University is the hub of African American leadership and educational expansion, and with the constant policing of the community and
poaching of black culture in today's society, it is significant that I achieve an education that represents myself and the world with which I am familiar
and intend to change for the better.
Martin Luther King is quoted as saying: "Intelligence plus character; that is the goal of true education." As I continue to develop as a person and
meaningful and flourishing part of society, I aspire to attend a university that represents academic excellence, diversity and leadership in transformation.
Nelson Mandela was once quoted as saying: "Education is the most powerful weapon which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My mother worked four jobs at once to make financial ends meet, while always stressing the importance of education and financial independence to my
brother and myself. My grandmother only achieved a second grade education due to the financial constraints on her family at a young age, but still in
the end managed to make certain that of her children and grandchildren had what was needed to flourish and become successful, educated members
of the community. The tenacity and history of these two women I still carry with me today. Their struggles have inspired to me to only want more
from life, but also serve as a positive role model for the younger members of my community. I observed from other family members how an education
can open a multitude of doors and opportunities. I want to make the biggest and most significant on my community and on my family as possible, and
the only foreseeable path is to achieve a college education to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and connections needed to flourish and implement

Kim Campbell
The rise of Kim Campbell as Canada's first female Prime Minister is considered by many to be that of a phenomenon. Webster's Dictionary
describes a phenomenon as being something of significant or rare, either fact or event. This can be shown by the rise of Kim Campbell from a local
Vancouver School Board Trustee, to becoming Prime Minister of Canada. Of course, this success was dependent on her ability and ambition to
succeed in what is still considered in contemporary terms as being a male dominated area of profession. Politics, especially in Canada and the United
States has never been known for its equal availability between men and women, and only in recent times has seen growth in the number of women who

This failure was not due to inability, but instead due to her growing ambition to further her career possibilities. When she was given the opportunity
to succeed in a field of interest, she jumped at the chance. Afterwards, she lectured at the University of British Columbia and Vancouver
Community College in the area of political science. Because she had only received her Bachelor's degree, she was unable to receive tenure, and had
to frequently change her places of work, and ultimately became tired of the process. Campbell felt that it was not due to her academics that she did
not receive tenure, but instead that it was due to sexism. In 1980 she entered the world of elected public office as a trustee of the Vancouver School
Board, serving as its Chairperson in 1983 and Vice–Chairperson in 1984, while completing her law degree at the University of British Columbia. After
an early run for the Social Credit party in the provincial election of 1983 she worked in the office of Premier Bill Bennett before running again and
winning in the 1986 provincial election. While a member of the British Columbian legislature, it became apparent that she would not be able to
further her career, as a MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) backbencher. During this time the Progressive Conservatives were preparing for
the upcoming 1988 Federal Election. In 1988 she accepted an offer from the federal Progressive Conservative party to

Essay on Superman vs. Christ
"Faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, jumps tall buildings in a single bound." Superman is known throughout the world for being
the savior of a city called Metropolis. In every comic book, movie, or action figure ever presented to the public, Superman is a handsome, strong man
who can defeat all odds at all times. The movie Superman was a success, showing how the superhero saved lives and yet lived a humble life. As one
watches the movie, though, he might notice the many similarities between the plot of the movie and the story of Christ's coming. Superman, savior of
the city Metropolis, mirrors the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
Throughout the movie Superman, the names and the actions of the characters were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the movie, it shows three people standing on trial and a vote that was to be decided by Jor–el. Zod, who was one of two men on
trial, told Jor–el to let him go and that he would let Jor–el have reign over the new world, which is also said when the devil is speaking to God and
trying to keep himself out of what was to become Hell. One of the strongest points in the movie that showed itself to be on the same path as Christ's
coming was when Jor–el said "the father in the son, and the son in the father," before he was to send Kah–lel off into the universe towards Earth.
Another moment was when Kah–lel throws the crystal and his father appears to tell his son that he is pleased with him and that he should now start
his ministry after roaming the wilderness for the past twelve years. Not only does this scene in the movie agree with the Bible's story of Christ's
twelve lost years, but it also is similar to when Christ was baptized by John. When Christ's baptism took place in the river Jordan, a voice from
Heaven came down upon the crowd and said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." From the beginning to end of the movie,
there are times in which Superman looked to be modeled after the story of Christ's coming.
While the names and the actions matched up for both stories, there were also cases where an object's appearance alone made the viewer

The Demystification of the Freedmen's Bureau Essay
The role of the Freedmen Bureau in African–American development during the Reconstruction era has been a polarizing topic since the Bureau's
inception. While most concur that the Bureau was well intended, some scholars, believe that the Freedmen's Bureau was detrimental to
African–American development. One such scholar was W.E.B. Dubois, who in his book The Souls of Black Folk, expressed his discontent with the
actions of the Bureau and suggested that the Bureau did more harm than good. Upon further probing, research refutes the position that the Freedmen's
Bureau was chiefly detrimental to Black development. While far from flawless in its pursuits to assist the newly freed Negroes, the actions of the

Analyzing the other opinions voiced in The Souls of Black Folk provides more insight into why Dubois was not fond of the Bureau. Dubois's views
on classical education and the progress of African–American race correlate with his views on the Freedmen's Bureau. Thoughts expressed in The Souls
of Black Folk promote distinctly anti–agrarian ideas. Dubois opposed the redistribution of land to freedmen because he felt that it would create a
"Black peasant proprietor" (Dubois). This belief contrasted with the beliefs of the majority of freedmen, who dreamed of the forty acres acres and a
mule. Because of their slave heritage, freedmen tended to support the agrarian lifestyle. For the large majority of freedmen, being able to own and
work their own land was the ultimate goal (Abbot 150–151); however, Dubois believed that classical education and not farm work was the key to
progress for African–American race (Dubois). Dislike for a reversion to a life of agriculture also fueled Dubois's disdain for contracted labor as well.
Believing that contract labor was a form of serfdom and comparing sharecropping to slavery, Dubois's vehemently opposed the proliferation of labor
contracts. The Freedmen's Bureau, a major supporter of contracted labor and helped African–Americans to find suitable employers, as well as negotiate
a fair wage. The blue–collar intensive farm work associated

The Crime Rate Of Atlanta Essay
Did you know that someone is murdered every 60 seconds in the united states?
Atlanta was recently ranked October 2012 as the sixth most dangerous city in the United States among cities of more than 200,000 residents.
According to Forbes the city has a violent crime rate of 1,433 per 100,000 and has experienced a violent crime rate rise of six percent in 2011 and is
currently increasing. Crime in Atlanta, Georgia is above the national median and has been a major problem for the city since the middle 20th century.
Atlanta has been known for high crime rates, particularly property crime and homicides. Much of the city 's crime, however, is centralized in most of
its western neighborhoods and scattered neighborhoods adjacent to Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport. These include Grove Park, Center Hill,
and Bankhead, some of the most crime–infested neighborhoods of Atlanta. This is alarming because Morehouse college is literally less then ten
minutes from all of these places. In just these three areas alone homicide is rated 20.5, forcible rape is rated 33.2, robbery is rated 512.6, aggravated
assault is rated 661.1, burglary is rated 1203.9, grand larceny–theft is rated 3631.0, motor vehicle theft is rated 912.5 and arson is rated 16.5 calculating

Kimberly Clark Case Study
Kimberly–Clark is a manufacturing company that produces a variety of paper items from Kleenex brands to Huggies diapers (Kimberly–Clark, 2017).
Recently, the company has ventured into the creation of virtual shopping to learn how shoppers react to their products when viewed on store shelves,
help researchers and developers gain data to market products that will sell, and to help managers develop stronger store displays for competitive
advantage (O'Brien & Marakas, 2011). Using virtual reality to simulate the shopping experience allows the manufacturer to gain insight without
creating products that might not sell based on their packaging or factors within the store that might deter a potential customer.
Customers want their store experience to be simple by offering products that are appealing and having those products available when they want them.
The virtual reality simulator created the atmosphere that the customer would actually visit so that Kimberly–Clark could see how the customer reacted
as she was required to kneel down to find the product she was looking for in the wide array of diaper products (O'Brien & Marakas, 2011). Getting the
total shopping experience of the customer from a virtual simulator allows the company to make informed decisions about the product packaging and
desired shelf space. If the company can know what consumers focus on for a better shopping experience, they can create a product that meets the needs
of the customer (O'Brien & Marakas,

Every summer since I can remember my family and I have spent part of our summer break camping at our favorite place in the Sierra Nevada
Mountains, in California. Clarks Fork is an old road with three campgrounds, one being called Clarks Fork. It's where I have made endless
memories with family and friends. It's where my best friend and I have grown up each summer. The first thing that is noticeable in (we will see
when we look at) this picture is the two young girls, smiling big. Those two young girls in the picture are my sister and I. The one on the left with
the long black hair, in two braids is my not so little, younger sister, and I am the blonde (one) on the right. This picture shows so much more than
(you) anyone could ever guess. I have grown up at Clarks Fork. My sister and I have gone on endless hikes and fishing trips. We are fortunate we were

beautiful green pasture with gorgeous white daisies and yellow daisies, that are just radiant against the green of the pasture and the blue sky of a
beautiful day. We were so lucky to have such a beautiful day, we had expected a horrendous rain storm that weekend. This green pasture below the
mountain and the tree line, is known as the end of the road meadow to us. It is where most of the time we would (you would) find horses roaming

Krypton Research Paper
Krypton, the home planet of Superman and the radioactive material, kryptonite... Wait. Wrong krypton. The krypton we are talking about is the kind
you find on the periodic table, and even in many lighting products, such as gas lasers. Although it is not a planet and can not quite stop the powers of
Superman, the element krypton has some pretty super qualities of its own.
History
Krypton was founded by the Scottish and English chemists, Sir William Ramsay and Morris William Travers on May 30, 1898 ("The Element
Krypton," n.d.). Their goal was to find noble gas elements in the last unknown 0.05% of air by liquefying and evaporating air (Newton, 2010). Ramsay
and Travers were able to liquefy it by cooling the elements, primarily oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in air to the point that they changed into a liquid state
(around –320.42В°F) (Newton, 2010). However, the air warmed and cause the evaporation of the three main elements, resulting in the discovery of not
only krypton, but additionally xenon and neon (Newton, 2010).
Physical Description Krypton, atomic symbol of Kr, received its name from the Greek word kryptos, meaning hidden (Newton, 2010). This name is
quite fitting seeing as the element is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas ("Krypton," 2007) at room temperature ("The Element ... Show more content

broken down, and it is then harvested by liquefying and evaporating air, the same technique in which it had been discovered (Newton,

Characteristics Of A Hero
Each one of the 7 billion humans on planet Earth has a hero. Humanity as we know it needs heroes because of myriad reasons, whether to solve
problems or help people through times of need. Much more than a man in a cape with larger–than–life physical strength, anyone can be a hero if they
have the right characteristics. Regardless of the duty a hero provides, he or she will hold common qualities that they must stand by. The three common
qualities that make up a hero throughout all of history and into modern day heroes include: loyalty, bravery, and the willingness to make personal
sacrifice for a common good.
No matter the hero, whether in a poem, movie, and even reality help shape the lives of people in a positive manner. Figures that show heroic qualities
became exceedingly important to societies back in the Anglo–Saxons time period but also right now in the twenty–first century because they serve a
purpose. When times get tough and everything seems impossible, heroes are the ones who remind us to keep on believing. We get back up again and
keep fighting and believing in ourselves. Every hero faces battles, some they may win but others they may lose. We as a society can learn from these
losses and understand failure helps us aspire and grow.
Loyalty, perhaps one of the most crucial qualities for a hero. A person that lacks loyalty cannot fit the characteristics of a hero because no loyalty
means no reliance or trust. Loyalty defines Beowulf when he first arrives to

Wright, the introduction of Superman into American cultural was brought about by the need of young Americans to feel a connection with the
"common man". But instead, the connotation created by Superman strays far away from the notion of an ordinary man. By allocating the name
Superman, he is connected to something that is god–like and un–human. Dennis Dooley and Gary Eagle present the argument that "Superman achieves
truly mythic stature, interweaving a pattern of beliefs, literary conventions and cultural traditions of the American people more powerfully and more
accessibly than any other cultural symbol of the 20th century." But this "mythic stature" created a "culture" that allowed its followers to question nature
and its power and allowed for the establishment of "beliefs" that were detrimental to the natural order of the world. Even Steve Skelton, the author of

Achieving The Same Mission At The Kimberly Clark Andean...
Originally set up as a top down environment, the Kimberly–Clark Andean Region struggled with getting everyone within the organization focused on
achieving the same mission. Wanting to expand their reach and market share, Sergio Nacach realized that he needed to find a way to connect the
employees to the company. Prior to his arrival, the company philosophy was that, " the solution was always to come from better products and better
advertising... Decisions were top–down and the senior positions had all the power" (Clark, 3). Having management hold all the power, allowed the
employees to believe there impact didn't matter. As Nacach became more involved within the organization, the company began to move their focus
away from a strictly top–down model into one where individuals were more involved in the decisions that they often times knew more about than the
top level management. Instead of only having the leaders of the organization be the big individuals in the company, KC "established that any person in
charge of even or or three people was a leader.... developed a plan to motivate those who were moving the wheels of the organization" (Clark, 10).
While not at the level of being completely focused on People's Proposition, the steps that Kimberly Clark is taking is pushing the company in that
direction. Kimberly–Clark recognized that what is best for their company success is giving their employees an opportunity to become more invested in

Comparison Of Superman And Siegel

  • 1. Comparison Of Superman And Siegel In 1938, A new superman was born; One that is good and represents the very fabric of "truth, justice and the American way"– things that were lost as an aftermath of The Great Depression. "Superman was like the better version of Siegel; A version who has the ability to save lives, including his father's. Similar to Siegel, Superman is an 'alien' desperately trying to fit into the American Culture," Added Elsworth (telegraph.uk). Siegel too was an 'alien' as he was someone foreign to the American ways, considering his beginning as a jewish immigrant. "And just like Superman, he too wanted desperately to fit in. The poet, David Meltzer once said: "Superman came not out of our strength but out of our vulnerability." Superman became a symbol of hope and a reassurance of safety. Superman represents the way America was supposed to be. He portrays someone who could save the lives of the innocent and yet be kind enough to spare the lives of the criminals; Someone who could've saved Siegel's father. He was everything Siegel dreamed of becoming. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 2. Aspen Skiing Company Alliance with Greenpeace Aspen Skiing Company is being drawn into a risky alliance with Greenpeace led "Kleercut" about boycotting Kimberly–Clark industries. This report will focus on the major stakeholders involved in this case and my personal action plans to help avoided a negative backlashing from the environmental groups and the public. What is a stakeholder? Business Today defined Stakeholder as "A person, group or organization that has interest or concern about an organization." (Businessdictionary.com paragraph 1) In this case, the key stakeholders are Aspen Skiing Company and Kimberly–Clark industries. The boycott was about how Kimberley–Clark industries engaged in sub–stranded environmental practices. Basically the company was green washing the industry; by proclaiming it was an environmental friendly company, while at the same time destroying the forest trees in other countries. ASC (Aspen Skiing Company) annual profit around 9 billion dollars a year. It's the front runner in environmental movement within the ski industry. It was gaining respect in the environmental community. It was the firsts ski resort to buy into renewable power and took care of replanting its natural surroundings. It's CEO Pat O'Donnell was the former president of an environmental education center. ASC was spending billions of dollars to find way to cut down on destroying their natural surrounding Joining the Boycott was a risky move for ASC. • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of Red Rock Canyon In the city of Las Vegas, people go through the daily trails and tribulations that the city has to offer. People constantly on the go, worried about the collection of money, pollution filling our lungs and tackled with the constant worries of reality. Being in the city, it seems as there is no escape from the madness that is being offered. Surrounded by the man made building and artificial light that illuminates the struggle of these streets. Although, there is a place that offers freedom about fifteen minutes away from the cities madness. A place where the air is fresh, a place where gargantuan rocks act as buildings, a place where the sun, moon and stars are the source of light and a place that provides freedom from the worries of the city. This center of nature providing freedom from the busy city life is Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon as a space has a rhetorical significance as a location of freedom from city life with the multitude of space it provides. Red Rock Canyon serves as an example of space and place in rhetoric and also creates ties to visual rhetoric with the unique scenery and imagery being offered. In addition aspects of memory such as cultural memory and public memory can be connected to Red Rock. To begin this analysis of Red Rock Canyon, is the notion of Red Rock Canyon being a place defined by its theory of rhetoric. According to Danielle Enders and Samantha Senda–Cook in their article " Rhetoric Matters: The Rhetoric of Place in Protest", "Place refers to particular locations (e.g., a city, a particular shopping mall, or a park) that are semi–bounded, a combination of material and symbolic qualities, and embodied. For example a city is semi–bounded by city limits (semi–bounded because these limits can be a matter of debate, change over time, or be re–drawn within a single year), includes material structures like buildings and roads, has symbolic meanings such as being perceived as a college town or an urban metropolis, and is experienced on a daily basis by the people who live, work, or visit it" ( Enders, Cook Pg.259, 2011). Red Rock Canyon itself is a particular location that is semi–bounded by rules and regulation that are set within ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. My Experience At Tuskegee University My experience began as early as college, when I used to volunteer with school going children in orphanages, and would advise them on the social problems they faced in school. That is when I decided that being a school counselor was the "perfect" job for me. Having started at an early age, I find that my expertise does in fact lie in helping students deal with social pressure, and helping them cope with the stress and frustration it brings. I have also been successfully able to help students improve their self–esteem by making them focus on past successes, so that they may be able to garner the strength for future aspirations. I don 't think age has any role to play when it comes to warming up to students. As long as they can find a mentor, a guide and trust in someone, they are likely to open up to them. As I started my college career at Tuskegee University, where I double majored in psychology and English. I was passionate about creating social awareness and helping people, but I was unsure what career I was interested in after graduation. I thought about attending graduate school for Counseling Psychology, but I just was not sure about it. I spoke to a professor in the Counselor Education program at Georgia State University and discussed my interests with her. She suggested I look for a program accredited by Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) School Counseling. I enrolled in the School Counseling program at Clark Atlanta ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The 's Mother, Kine Thiam Born as Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, "Akon" was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 16, 1973, the son of Senegalese parents who traveled to the United States for his birth in order to ensure that future immigration would not be a problem for them. His family returned to Dakar, Senegal, in West Africa, when Akon was young and lived there until he was seven years old, when they moved back to the United States. He had a difficult time adjusting to life in the United States. Surrounded by music at home, Akon developed an early appreciation of various types of music, and he grasped influence from Stevie Wonder and Phil Collins to Steely Dan. As a teenager he grew to love hip–hop music, and he began writing songs, blending R&B lyrics with hip–hop beat structures. Though he showed an early musical talent, Akon did not believe he would succeed as a recording artist, and at a young age he turned to crime to make ends meet such as: gang banging and drug procession. After dropping out of high school, Akon moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he specialized in stealing high end automobiles, selling them, selling drugs, and gun activities. • 6. Grind Short Story Analysis HOTLANTA'S ENTREPRENUER AGYEI PITTMAN, C.E.O. OF GRIND MEDIA, LLC. TALKS SUCCESS AND WHY THE GRIND DOESN'T STOP NATURAL BORN WINNER, Agyei Pittman has a compelling story blended with trials, tribulations, and triumph. Recognized through and beyond the streets of Metro Atlanta as Jay Grind, Grind is a living legacy. The self–sacrificial Marketing Specialist and entrepreneur is passionate in his expertise and is generally observed working tirelesslyв€’ often extending service to the less fortunate. On yesterday, Grind was generous enough to offer his valuable time to answer five personal questions that helps paint a clearer picture of his legacy. During the discussion with Grind, he was initially asked if there was a person or situation that inspires him the most and gives his life purpose. "Probably my mom and dad because they stayed down and carried each other. They made complex things look simple because of their team work," he explained. Indeed, having parental devotion as a part of life is enriching to the core. Nothing compares to the sense of pride which develops when having unrelenting parents there to lead you down the right path. That's priceless. Being a father, himself, is an honor that Grind doesn't take for granted. Rarely taking time out for leisure, Grind meticulously balances a bustling occupation and being charitable with fatherhood. At times in life, many of us regret or may have been embarrassed by prior circumstances that we have encountered. Moving into the second question, Grind was asked had he ever felt ashamed of his past. "Yeah, I can say when we first moved around Caucasians. I didn't speak on Columbus, Ga that much. I felt they wouldn't relate, so I never spoke on the disadvantage situations," he admitted. Grind's response is appreciated. Any unfamiliar situation is prone to cause a level of anxiety. Also, being able to open up about the past is not the easiest thing to do. Raising the third question, Grind was asked to name one of his greatest accomplishments. Brainstorming, he replied, "I guess graduating college and never going to prison. I had my fair share of mis takes and wrong ideas about life. I'm just glad it never led me to being sent down the road for a long time or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. `` Gasoline Alley `` By Frank King In Gasoline Alley, Frank King uses closure to take an average human being, Skeezix, and place him into a surreal world, and in doing so immerses his readers in the fantastic wonderlands they observe. In The Superman Chronicles, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster do the opposite by using closure to take a surreal being and place him into the real world of the readers to show how alien Superman is to planet Earth. For clarity, closure is defined in Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics as, "Observing the parts but perceiving the whole." Simply put, closure in comics allows the reader to become an active participant in the story. This participation allows the reader to become fully immersed in the world of the characters which leads to an experiential connection between the reader and the character. In order to understand how real and surreal are to be interpreted in this paper, they must be defined. The Merriam–Webster Dictionary defines surreal as, "marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream," and defines real as, "not artificial, fraudulent, or illusory...occurring or existing in actuality." The creators devise diametric plots, but the use of closure as a mechanism to create the immersive worlds in which their readers and characters coexist are nearly the same. Frank King and Siegel & Shuster both use closure as a vehicle to convey the concept that their respective characters are living representations of the opposition between real and surreal, this is evident in ... • 8. Creative Writing: Lelia's Suicide Honestly, malicious gossip couldn't have been further from the truth; it's just how it is in a small town. Like Samuel's father, his grandfather had been a lawyer, and like Lelia's father, her grandfather had been a steamboat captain, nothing ever seemed to change. Lelia had sat at the same desk where her teacher sat when she had been Lelia's age, attending the same high school. Frankly, in the tiny town of Cutler Harbor, Maine there were no secrets and no mysteries lurking anywhere. For Lelia, the appeal of Owen remained the mystery and intrigue, not the handsome man himself. True, Lelia flirted with Owen as she had with William Randall, III the year before. However, her heart belonged to Samuel Truman, and she had hoped he'd be asking for her hand in marriage before he left... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Gosh, Mother," Lelia said, standing on the checker kitchen floor, kicking her right foot at nothing. "He'll be gone and I won't see him until Thanksgiving." Three months could seem a lifetime at Lelia's age. "Lelia Elizabeth, stop arguing and listen." Marion placed her hands on her daughter's shoulder. "I said, yes. Yes, you may take the bus with Sam over to Ellingwood to see him off." Samuel gazed pensively at Lelia, her soft, slate–blue eyes appeared dreamier than usual when she gazed up at him. With his heart beating faster than usual, Sam thought he felt Lelia faintly trembling. Taking a step back so he could study her intently, he tried to sound convincing when he whispered: "Hey, come on now, it'll be okay." He wiggled from one foot to the other. Facing her, Sam tightly intertwined his fingers around Lelia's white–gloved fingers. The couple stood with their eyes locked, searching one another's soul. "Please, don't you dare cry; I'll be home before you can say Jack Robinson." Sam wanted to sound playful, but it didn't ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Knowing your "why" is a critical piece to living with intention. It answers why you want something. This is just like asking, why is this important? The key here is that the more important something is to us, the more likely we will continue doing it. For example, we seek good schools for our children because we want them to be successful or even safe. With success or safety as motivating factors, some parents will drive their children all the way across town with the hopes of achieving that end. Maybe Superman came to mind, who was so strong that he could lift up entire buildings in the grasp of one hand, or stop a moving train from falling off a broken bridge. It could have been the Flash, who had the ability to run around the world in seconds. He could run so fast that earth would spin in the opposite direction. An example of Odysseus' leadership in The Iliad is when Odysseus comes up with the idea to attack troy with the trojan horse. The city of troy was enclosed in walls, making it very difficult for Odysseus to attack them. They would need a great plan in order for them to be able to attack. This is where Odysseus steps in. He comes up with the idea to create the trojan horse, and put his men inside. The trojans then take this horse inside their city, and believe that it is a gift from the spartans. One of the strongest points in the movie that showed itself to be on the same path as Christ's coming was when Jor–el said "the father in the son, and the son in the father," before he was to send Kah–lel off into the universe towards Earth. Another moment was when Kah–lel throws the crystal and his father appears to tell his son that he is pleased with him and that he should now start his ministry after roaming the wilderness for the past twelve years. Not only does this scene in the movie agree with the Bible's story of Christ's twelve lost years, but it also is similar to when Christ was baptized by John. Dubois opposed the redistribution of land to freedmen because he felt that it would create a "Black peasant proprietor" (Dubois). This belief contrasted with the beliefs of the majority of freedmen, who dreamed of the forty acres acres and a mule. Because of their slave heritage, freedmen tended to support the agrarian lifestyle. For the large majority of freedmen, being able to own and work their own land was the ultimate goal (Abbot 150–151); however, Dubois believed that classical education and not farm work was the key to progress for African–American race (Dubois). Dislike for a reversion to a life of agriculture also fueled Dubois's disdain for contracted labor as well. Believing that contract labor was a form of serfdom and comparing sharecropping to slavery, Dubois's vehemently opposed the proliferation of labor contracts. Recently, the company has ventured into the creation of virtual shopping to learn how shoppers react to their products when viewed on store shelves, help researchers and developers gain data to market products that will sell, and to help managers develop stronger store displays for competitive advantage (O'Brien & Marakas, 2011). Using virtual reality to simulate the shopping experience allows the manufacturer to gain insight without creating products that might not sell based on their packaging or factors within the store that might deter a potential customer. Customers want their store experience to be simple by offering products that are appealing and having those products available when they want them. The krypton we are talking about is the kind you find on the periodic table, and even in many lighting products, such as gas lasers. Although it is not a planet and can not quite stop the powers of Superman, the element krypton has some pretty super qualities of its own. History Krypton was founded by the Scottish and English chemists, Sir William Ramsay and Morris William Travers on May 30, 1898 ("The Element Krypton," n.d.). Their goal was to find noble gas elements in the last unknown 0.05% of air by liquefying and evaporating air (Newton, 2010). Ramsay and Travers were able to liquefy it by cooling the elements, primarily oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in air to the point that they changed into a liquid state (around –320.42В°F) (Newton, 2010). However, the air warmed and cause the evaporation of the three main elements, resulting in the discovery of not only krypton, but additionally xenon and neon (Newton, 2010). Physical Description Krypton, atomic symbol of Kr, received its name from the Greek word kryptos, meaning hidden (Newton, 2010). • 30. Characteristics Of A Hero Each one of the 7 billion humans on planet Earth has a hero. Humanity as we know it needs heroes because of myriad reasons, whether to solve problems or help people through times of need. Much more than a man in a cape with larger–than–life physical strength, anyone can be a hero if they have the right characteristics. Regardless of the duty a hero provides, he or she will hold common qualities that they must stand by. The three common qualities that make up a hero throughout all of history and into modern day heroes include: loyalty, bravery, and the willingness to make personal sacrifice for a common good. No matter the hero, whether in a poem, movie, and even reality help shape the lives of people in a positive manner. Figures that show heroic qualities became exceedingly important to societies back in the Anglo–Saxons time period but also right now in the twenty–first century because they serve a purpose. When times get tough and everything seems impossible, heroes are the ones who remind us to keep on believing. We get back up again and keep fighting and believing in ourselves. Every hero faces battles, some they may win but others they may lose. We as a society can learn from these losses and understand failure helps us aspire and grow. Loyalty, perhaps one of the most crucial qualities for a hero. A person that lacks loyalty cannot fit the characteristics of a hero because no loyalty means no reliance or trust. Loyalty defines Beowulf when he first arrives to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Clark University Application Essay My interest with Clark University began prior to my college experience, by hearing Dr. Goldberg and other Clark Professors on NPR and in the media, discussing the topics that I now consider my primary research interests. As an undergraduate student I continued to listen to these interviews and look into the research they cited, which eventually lead me to the psychology programs and active labs of Clark University. I was extremely interested in the opportunities I saw for research and teaching assistantship. As someone with experience as a teacher's assistant, I know how well it can help both socially and financially. Such a partnership helps students engage student body, build rapport with professors, and gain active experience and competence in their field. By having these assistantships available, Clark University is showing a dedication to student support and success both in and beyond the university. Society has made it so hard for blacks to become successful, but for the great minds of the students at CAU; it's so easy for them to succeed and not for them to fall into what society calls the "system". It's Superman!" (Bridwell 11) These celebrated words have echoed for over six decades in American cultural and social society. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joseph Shuster, Superman was intended to fight greed, crime, injustice and abuse. But instead, the connotation created by Superman strays far away from the notion of an ordinary man. By allocating the name Superman, he is connected to something that is god–like and un–human. Dennis Dooley and Gary Eagle present the argument that "Superman achieves truly mythic stature, interweaving a pattern of beliefs, literary conventions and cultural traditions of the American people more powerfully and more accessibly than any other cultural symbol of the 20th century." But this "mythic stature" created a "culture" that allowed its followers to question nature and its power and allowed for the establishment of "beliefs" that were detrimental to the natural order of the world. Even Steve Skelton, the author of The Gospel According to the World's Greatest Superhero presents the fact there is a parallel between Superman and God. Have Siegel and Shuster gone too far? The cultural and social superhero of Superman was one that was intended to attract those who felt disconnected from the American world in which they lived. • 39. Achieving The Same Mission At The Kimberly Clark Andean... Originally set up as a top down environment, the Kimberly–Clark Andean Region struggled with getting everyone within the organization focused on achieving the same mission. Wanting to expand their reach and market share, Sergio Nacach realized that he needed to find a way to connect the employees to the company. Prior to his arrival, the company philosophy was that, " the solution was always to come from better products and better advertising... Decisions were top–down and the senior positions had all the power" (Clark, 3). Having management hold all the power, allowed the employees to believe there impact didn't matter. As Nacach became more involved within the organization, the company began to move their focus away from a strictly top–down model into one where individuals were more involved in the decisions that they often times knew more about than the top level management. Instead of only having the leaders of the organization be the big individuals in the company, KC "established that any person in charge of even or or three people was a leader.... developed a plan to motivate those who were moving the wheels of the organization" (Clark, 10). While not at the level of being completely focused on People's Proposition, the steps that Kimberly Clark is taking is pushing the company in that direction. Kimberly–Clark recognized that what is best for their company success is giving their employees an opportunity to become more invested in the work that they are doing by ...
