2. Addie Model
Piskurich (2006) describes the Addie Model in
5 components as shown in the Figure 1.1

Addie Model
3. Dick and Carey Model
Husain (2014) states that Dick and Carey
Model “promotes a system view of instruction
instead of viewing instruction as a sum of
isolated parts.”
Figure 1.2 Forest, E
4. Comparison
According to Husain (2014) both models use
a system that determine learning or outcome
in designing the curriculum.
6. Difference
Addie is more systematic. The steps must be
followed in sequential order or the outcome is
likely to change.
The Dick and Care comprises of two form of
evaluations-formative and summative. This
allows consistent revision. It is more data
driven and is used to assess weakness at
every state.

7. Addie Model
Advantage & Challenge
The Addie Model can be used with many
types of business.
The challenge is that all of the phases are
necessary and none of the steps can be
eliminated.
8. Dick & Carey Model
Advantage & Challenge
The advantage is that the method has two
spots for evaluations. The first evaluations
concentrates on revision and the second
evaluation is used to determine what was
effective and in effective.
Husain (2014) states that the objectives must
be clear and measurable otherwise it
becomes a weakness.
