2. IS IT A TEASER OR
THEATRICAL TRAILER?
This trailer that I have been analysing is a theatrical trailer.
We know this because firstly the length of the trailer is a lot
longer then a teaser trailer, usually a teaser trailer will last a
maximum of 30 seconds. Also in the theatrical trailer it
includes more information about the film. For example in this
particular trailer we see a introduction to the characters.

3. WHAT SHOTS FROM THE
NARRATIVE ARE USED ?
The majority of shots that where used in the theatrical trailer
are in the film. The only shots that where not included in the
trailer that appeared in the film is the title sequence. The
reason why they include shots from the film is they can
attract the audience with what is in the feature film.

4. HOW DOES THE EDITING
(INCLUDING SOUND)CREATE
A NARRATIVE?
The editing in the trailer is fast pace this is to show the
relationship with the genre which is action comedy. For
example we see loads of quick cuts to the next shot to keep
the entertainment high octane. The sound that is included
with in the trailer is a lot of diegetic sounds, for example in
the scene below we hear a engine roaring and the sound of
objects breaking.

5. WHAT GENRE SIGNIFIERS
DOES THE TRAILER USE?
The genre of this particular film is a hybridisation of two
genres it’s a action comedy. Some of the genre signifiers in
this is the editing and the narrative. For example we have
fast pace editing is included in the trailer, we know that fast
pace editing is heavily linked with the genre action as it is
more entertaining to watch. Also the narrative, what happens
within the trailer deliberately shows the genre of comedy. For
example we see the protagonist in a herpes advert also the
use of slapstick humour is involved within the trailer.

6. HOW ARE
INTERTITLES USED ?
Intertitles are used on more then one occasion. This appears
when they introduce the characters, they use a san serif font
to highlight the theme of the comedy. The title sequence that
involves the title of the film and the date that it is being
released heavily links to the theme of police. For example the
big bold letters covering the middle of the screen represent
the ‘cops’ as they are both showing there authority. More
over the badge that’s in the background is a clear link to the
theme of cops. Also the iconic blue flashing light is a clear
symbol of police force flashing lights.

7. WHAT DO THE AUDIENCE LEARN ABOUT
THE ACTORS, DIRECTORS, PRODUCERS
OF THE FILM AND ARE THERE ANY
INTERTEXTUALITY REFERENCES.
The audience is immediately linked with the characters. This
is because in the opening of the film we see freeze frames
with san serif titles introducing us to them. What is missing
from the trailer is references from other films, for example
‘From the producers of…..’ this would be a good thing to
include because it would attract a fan base in more viewers.
