2. Films usually have a variety of different film posters. The main reason for this is to
attract a number of different type of audiences. In this presentation I will be looking
into three film posters from the film ‘Looking For Eric’.
3. Poster #1
• This poster seems to be aimed more
at the football fans/hooligans as
there is a trumpet and a group of
men at the bottom.
• The group of men seem to be the
typical “footy lads” that go to every
match.
• This could appeal to men as they
might feel it to be appropriate to go
with all of ‘the lads’ to watch the
film.
4. Poster #2
• This poster seems to be aimed
at the average football fan.
• I think this due to the inclusion
of the Manchester United t-
shirt.
• Football fans will see this and
will be able to immediately
relate to the character.
• Football fans will also be
attracted to this poster as they
seem to be training, just like
footballers would for a match.
5. Poster #3
• I think this poster hasn’t got a
specific audience as it seems to
have a more general layout and
pictures.
• The inclusion of a woman
suggests love interest which may
appeal to women as well as men.
• Women may be intrigued to see if
any romance occurs which could
mean they go and watch the film.
• The flowers also suggest romance
and love.
