1. How effective is the main
combination of your main
product (video) and ancillary
texts (digipak and
advertisement)
2. Colour Scheme
As we done some research and found out in class that a
successful digipak/advertisement should only consist of
no more than three colours, we decided we will have to
choose a theme to stick to as our song we chosen to
recreate is called Specturm (meaning a band of a lot of
colours). Therefore we would have to restrict to only
using a certain few. After throwing some ideas around,
the group, we came up with an Aurora theme as that
consists of light and strong colours and also it has been
featured in a top artists music video recently too. As a
result, the colours we chose were Green, Blue,
Purple/Pink.

3. Fonts
As a group we picked out a number of fonts that
caught our eye and could be appropriate for our
album covers. We thought these suited our pop
genre as they are bold and quite fun.
However, when I started to create my digipak I
came across a new font called Amperzand. I
likes this as it was different and resembled a
psychedelic theme that I was trying to portray. I
also used this font on my advertisement.

4. Costume
• Throughout our music video and ancillary products, we made sure that the
costume used was consistent. We wanted the costume to be edgy and
different to fit the mood we created and fitted well with the location we
filmed in. We took inspiration from current artist’s such as Rihanna and
Rita Ora.

5. Location
We decided to film in a night club (as
Hannah D’s uncle owned one) for the bright
lights that we wanted to incorporate in our
video as well as people dancing and having a
good time as our song is fast and upbeat.
Also Purple is one of our three colours we Rita Ora on the street we filmed on
have decided to feature on our digipak so
these purple lights fitted well. As you can see in these images, as a group we
decided to film against bright and vibrant
backgrounds, including graphic street art as that
what our location, Brick Lane, is known and
famous for. Also, as our target audience is young
people this setting was appropriate as it’s a prime
location where young people like to hang out. We
also discovered we filmed on the exact same street
as one of our inspirational artist Rita Ora.
6. Target Audience
To make a good sense of target audience, we
created a twitter profile of a typical audience
member we want to target who was a 18 year
old University student called Frankie. By doing
this people could read Frankie’s tweets and judge
her sense of character and interests. For
example, she states that she loves working in
Topshop. which shows her sense of style which
could indicate her age also. Also she says that she
has an Iphone 5 which shows that she likes the
luxury things in life and indicates that her
psychographic profile would be Aspirers.
Frankie can relate to our music video as our
artist is very fashionable and up to date with the
latest trends. She also notes that she wants to go
to Ibiza which shows her fun and party side, this
can be related to our music video we include
scenes like in the night club for example. As of
this I made my own digipak quite fun and
vibrant.
