2. OUTFIT
We are aiming to present our actors wearing a dark
sweatshirt, jacket, crop top or hoodie (weather pending). We
want the actors to still appear feminine, however feel that a
darker colour costume will help fit the stereotypical image of
a gangster. Therefore the female actors will be wearing
jewellery and heavier makeup, so that the audience is aware
of their gender and this will also add to their dangerous and
mysterious representation.
We also feel that some members of the group should
wear a baseball cap, as this fits in with a stereo-typical
image of a gangster/ hip hop artist. In addition, the cap
will also act to conceal their identity, again contributing to
their secretive representation.
Some actors will be
wearing a black
tracksuit, again due to
it being a stereo-
typical outfit choice of
a hip hop artist.
3. OUTFIT & HAIRSTYLES
We have decided to have a male actor
within the music video. However, his
identity will remain a secret, due to him
having a black fabric bag over his head ,
and he will be tied to a chair. We
decided that it would be ideal to have
the male actor wearing casual clothing
(jeans and a T-shirt) as this will suggest
that he is a victim who is about to be
‘taken’ by the female gangsters yet.
Furthermore, the colour white has
stereo-typical connotations of purity and
innocence, which is how we want his
character to be represented.Stereo-typical
girly/glamourous
hairstyles to
represent the
female actors as
feminine.
4. MAKE UP & JEWELLERY
We feel that dark, heavy eye-makeup and
thicker/darker eyebrows would be appropriate
for our female actors within the music video.
This is because, the makeup will present the
actors as feminine, as well as adding towards the
dangerous and mysterious representation in
which we aim to meet. In addition, the colour
black has connotations of danger and power
and this is also how we would like the actors to
be portrayed.
The female actors will also have red lipstick as
this will be noticeable during the lip-synching
scenes and when the girls wear their Balaklava's
(due to having a cut out hole wear the lips are).
Furthermore, the colour red stereo-typically
symbolises passion and danger, which are words
in which can be associated with the actors.
Big earrings and
chains will also be
warn, again due to
this adding to the
stereo-typical hip hop
attire.
