How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?


Overall the combination of our main teaser trailer and our two
ancillary texts allows for us to have an effective and successful
film campaign which reinforces our brand identity across three
separate platforms with the use of selected mise en scene
products like our mask and our typography and logo. Our film
campaign effectively appeals to our target audience by using
things they would relate to such as the ‘a’ grade and the use of the
unique white mask used throughout our campaign acts as our USP
by creating a memorable viewing experience and brand. By
making our film idea plot line unique and by repeating key
signifiers (mask, logo, maps, colours, etc.) in our main product and
2 ancillary texts helps remind the audience of our campaign/film
whenever they see our props or logo and I feel has helped us to
create a successful film campaign and unique and established
brand.


In our trailer the mise-en-scene such as the
mask, black clothing and maps reappear
throughout the trailer as well as the typography
and colour codes of the titles (the font and red
‘a’) also used in the other two products, all work
together to portray to the our target audience
the genre and the key themes of our film and
help to promote our campaign. The use of the
unique white mask and the contrasting red ‘A’ in
our logo makes our brand noticeable and
contributes to our campaigns USP.


We used the mask and the red ‘A’ to further
reinforce our brand identity and to help
establish the crime/school/teenage genre.
The mask and the font/logo is an effective
way to market our brand as when they see
these things in wither the campaign poster or
in everyday life they will immediately
associate it with our film.


Again in our magazine cover we have used
the signifiers of the mask and log which
help to create a brand identity for a film.
By using these key features in a third
product in our campaign allows our film
brand to be memorable to our target
audience and the connotations of these
things e.g. school and crime establish our
genre and key themes whilst also making
it relatable and appealing to our target
audience.


The logo used throughout all of our three
products can used separately from the full
products as it is easy to use and print on
things such as stationary products which are
typically used by teenage students which is
our main target audience. This would be
another effective way to help promote our
film and brand.
