2. Introduction Good teachers need to use a variety of proven approaches chosen based on specific needs of students.

3. Purpose Examining the effects of using a balanced approach to vocabulary instruction on student’s learning and student’s understanding of the vocabulary they will encounter in the classroom.

4. Questions What does the research say about is the most effective way to teach vocabulary? Are the strategies used in the study effective in increasing student’s understanding of vocabulary? What did I learn about a balanced approach in the classroom?

10. Data Analysis “The strategies we used were really fun and creative. Some strategies we used involved being creative and using our imagination to help achieve our goals in learning vocabulary words.”

12. Discussion According to survey’s students felt more comfortable with the vocabulary when using a balanced approach. More exposure equals better understanding. Creating new ways to present material leads to better comprehension.
