2. Front cover
■ This cover of the magazine keeps to the three colour pallet, black white and
yellow.The white and black help make a plain background for the main
image and main titles, such as the mast head and the main sell lines. the
mast head and the main sell lines are in a bright yellow making them stand
out against the darker background, ring all the attention to them.
■ The main image is slightly to the right of the page, it is a mid shot which
takes up almost the full page.The subject is looking directly at the camera,
making it look like they are looking directly at the reader. It is a well lit
image which stands out against the dark background. I also shows that the
image was taken in the studio.
■ There is also a main sell line of the subjects name, this will be to once again
catch attention for the readers, as their target audience will be brought in
by this.
■ The subject has closed body language, they are sitting down and leaning
into the camera, making the look slightly intimidating giving them power.
They are wearing dark closes and rings and a cap, which are things all
associated with rappers.
■ Below the main image, there is a box which for advertising along with other
sell lines, these are in yellow but are in a much smaller font than the other
main sell lines, they are in a bright colour to make them stand out and also
make it look consistent, as most of the other sell lines are in the same
colour. Only a few sell lines are in white, which also stands out against the
black background.

3. Contents page
■ The background for this contents page is light grey to give it a blank
space for the main image and the text to stand out.
■ The main image is a full body shot with any props that are related to
rappers, for example the subject is standing on a pile of money and
holding a briefcase which is also contains money, this links to the idea
that rappers live a lavish lifestyle and have a lot of money.The rapper is
also wearing baggy clothes, as well as a cap, which are also linked to
rappers and their general look.
■ The main text is located at the top of the page, it links to the main
image being associated with money, as the image includes money and
the main title is top billin, linking in once again with the amount of
money rappers have.
■ The text is located around the sides of the page so that the focus is kept
on the subject. It contains information about the different articles
featured in the magazine as well as a title saying cover story, which will
be there to show the reader the main article in the magazine and a bit of
information about what it includes.

4. Double page spread
■ This double page spread follows the layout of most double
page spreads, with one of the two pages being filled with one
larger image of the main subject
■ The main image on the left of the double page spread is a close
up shot, the subject is wearing sunglasses, linking in with
typical associations of rappers, giving them a certain attitude
and persona.
■ On the right hand of the page there is a large amount of
writing, featuring multiple drop caps, as well as having one
large initial of the subject in red that is spread across the page
to show not only who the article is about but also shows their
importance.
■ The image fades from a red colour to a blue, which links in with
the red initial on the other page.Although the large ‘j’ is in a
brighter colour and is also across the writing, it is slightly
transparent so that the writing is still visible to the reader.
■ There is also a pull quote on the other page, below the image
of the subject, this helps to show what the article is about.
