The Leadership Skills Of The Workplace
Innovation in the workplace is a competitive force that give businesses like Apple and Samsung a competitive advantage over other competitors.
Innovation is not a new concept for businesses in the workplace, it has been around for a long time. However, businesses are focusing on innovation
because they understand the key benefits of innovation. Innovation is supported in organizations through different leadership practices. Discover skills
are important in the business and help drive innovation for organizations. Discovery skills have both strengths and weaknesses and can help or hurt a
leader's ability to support innovation in the workplace.
It would be difficult to choose just two leadership practice that support innovation in organizations. Leslie (2009) stated that the most needed leadership
skills needed now and later in the future were ; strategic planning, leading employees, inspiring commitment, managing change, being a quick learner,
being resourceful and doing whatever it takes. However, the five leadership skills that are the most important to support innovation are leading people,
strategic planning, inspiring commitment, managing change and employee development. Leading people is a fundamental leadership skill that is very
powerful, just like the quote says, "Set the example for others". If a leader can set an example for being innovator, the leader can also lead their direct
reports to also drive innovation in their company. Leaders can both motivate and

Volunteering Skills
Soft Skills in Workplace Volunteering and Internship
Hoy (2011, p. 29) believed that internships and volunteering allow students to have a taste of the environment that they hope to be employed after they
finished schooling. In fact, it is through internships that students are provided with the sufficient skills that would help them in the transition stage–
from study to work (The Centre for Volunteering, 2015). In line of this assertion, this paper will identify the workplace opportunity I have chosen, and
provide for four soft skills that I can use in the said internship opportunity.
Archival Internship
I have chosen this internship opportunity because I want to enhance my knowledge on archival science. Apart from that, I want also ... Show more

I believe that this soft skill is an advantage in my archival internship because with having the sense of responsibility, I am able to put up effort and
perform my duty to the best of my ability.
Creative Thinking
Doyle (2016) argued that through creative thinking, a person is able to come up with unique solutions. As a result, efficiency is increased. In my
archival internship, it is important that I am able to think beyond the box because it is through this that I am able to perform a wide variety of task.
For example, in making the archive accessible to users, I must think of ways on how to creatively produce the materials.
Conclusion
I believe that the four soft skills I have chosen could positively impact my archival internship because an archivist is the one responsible not only for
the provision and care of collections and information which preserve the past must also to manage it. Through my communication skill, I am able to
answer enquiries and assist on organizing public events such as exhibitions and talks. Through being flexible, I am able to present my positive
attitude regardless of the situation of the situation I am in. With my strong ethic work, I can perform my responsibility excellently. Lastly, it is
through my creative thinking that I am able to manage and resolve conflicts through providing unique solutions. As an intern, I am burdened with the
responsibility of ensuring that I am exposed to various experiences which will serve as an edge once I apply for work after I

Essential job skills
Skills are just something that you are good at or they are a part of you. Everybody in the world has a skill, but sometimes they are hard to find.
When employers look for some one to hire they are looking for people with specific skills to fit the job. Each job has different skills that are
accompanied with each job, but there are four main areas in which all employers look for when they want to hire somebody. They are: basic skills,
thinking skills, people skills, and most importantly personal qualities.
When I say basic skills I mean skills that we learn while we are in school. Reading, writing, mathematics, speaking, and listening are all very simple
things but sometimes the little things are the hardest. Employers just want to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, good Interpersonal skills help us to make our own identity, own position, knowing where do we rank between our colleagues and this

Interpersonal skills are the most needed because they represent our own carrier and the manners that were taught and given in the schools, by
parents and in the Church or Temple or Mosque. They also represent our work ethic and it directly affects to the company's reputation. Many
employees are taking special classes or tuition for developing the Interpersonal skills, and other skills that are required in billet. As well as there are
many educators who teach them these skills, but they almost charge $50 or $60 a day for the tuition, and we have to go the classes on the days that
are mentioned in our schedule. So, to save these much amount of your money you need to try to develop your skills. One another adeptness in included
in the Interpersonal skill it is the Dress out sense. You are not supposed to wear your clothes in the company. You are supposed to wear the dress
which are required by the company. They don't even allow you to wear your wish dress in your birthday, marriage, or anniversary. Your apparels should
be company approved. Bottommost, you need to know how to manipulate the situations. This adeptness is known as problem–solving

Juggling Motor Skill
Introduction
To better understand learning, the research and experimentation was conducted by a student. The purpose of this study was to examine a novice learner
performing a skill, in which improvement, retention, consistency, adaptability and stages of learning would be tested. The individual chose juggling
three beanbags for the skill to be learned. The subject had to learn how to juggle three beanbags at once using both hands. Practice was completed in
one way to keep consistency; this included throwing small beanbags standing up in the same room. Hypothesis of the experimenter suggested greatest
improvement of skill in the beginning to middle of testing. Learning would be accomplished. An increase in practice time and ... Show more content on

the catches and errors made.
Baseline session, no practice of skill prior to session, was first recorded to observe students' ability before practice. Juggling practice consisted of
fifteen and thirty minute daily practice sessions depending on learner's daily schedule. Eight hours of practice were to be completed by end of motor
learning experiment. Practice was conducted in one certain way to better show the learning evidence. Standing in the same room, facing the same way,
closed doors and windows. After practice completion of one full hour, student waited fifteen minutes before conducting a performance session. Total of
eight performance sessions were collected throughout experiment. Retention session was tested five days after eighth performance session to measure
persistence of learning. Transfer session was also conducted to measure adaptability of skill to other versions of skill.
Data from baseline, performance, retention, and transfer sessions was recorded on paper by the learner, and then transferred into Microsoft Excel and
Microsoft Word for further analysis. Results were put into a formula and answers were plotted on graphs to observe student learner.Standard deviation
was also calculated to observe consistency of student learning.

Crisis Counselor Skills
Skills, Knowledge, and Training Required for Crisis Counselors
When counselors choose to be on a disaster response team they need to be aware of the skills and knowledge that is required for the job. The first
thing that counselors need to be aware of is the burnout rate of being a disaster counselor. According to Sommer (2008), there is four components that
a clinician needs to be an effective disaster counselor. First the clinician needs to have a vast knowledge and training in trauma basedcounseling, pay
attention to all aspects of treatment the conscious and the unconscious, have a reciprocated reverence for the interpersonal climate. Lastly, possess the
knowledge of the educational components dealing with secondhand trauma. The same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Counselors are very important during this time to help counsel the loved ones of the person that lost their life in the disaster. Bender (2002) suggest
that this leaves the family not able to have a traditional funeral, especially if the body cannot be found.
When dealing with grief clinicians need to actively listen to their clients, provide empathy and openness, and make sure the client is in a situation that
is nonjudgemental. Clinicians needs to be trained in these techniques when dealing with disasters that involve death. Clinicians also need to reassure
clients that it is okay to vent the uncomfortable feelings the person maybe feeling.
Another approach that clinicians needs to be trained in is utilizing the community and training them to help foster comfort to people that are suffering
from the disaster. According to Henley, Marshall, & Vetter, (2011) the people in the community (such as teachers, law enforcement etc,) can help
people with problem–solving skills and coping skills if the correct training from a mental health professional. The same authors suggest that clinicians
need to utilize the proper assessment and screening tools that can serve multiple

Coaching Skills Paper
In coaching, there are many skills that can be useful. The importance of each skill set varies on the client. There are many benefits of refining your
skills and learning new ones, but there are also some challenges that come along with them as well. In this paper, I will discuss some strengths and
challenges of each skill.
Recognition skills are described as the process of being able to identify, recognize, and be aware of others (Deffler, S. A., Leary, M. R., & Hoyle, R.
H. 2016). Nonverbal communication is something that someone with high recognition skills pick up on. The most popular form of communication is
verbal, but nonverbal can be just as effective. Things like facial expression, body language, and hand gestures can speak just as loud ... Show more

Motivation is what keeps someone going, their drive. A strength to motivation is that it can drive you to obtain your goal (McLeod, A., Hewitt, B.,
Gibbs, D., & Kristof, C. 2017). In the coaching realm, we are going to have to try and motivate our clients, whether it be for intrinsic or extrinsic
reasons. In coaching this is huge and a very important component. A challenge of this is not being able to motivate someone. In some cases, there is
nothing someone can do to motivate someone. You cannot make someone want something or do something. Another skill that can be utilized in
coaching is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is being aware of the emotions, whether it be the emotions of others or of yourself
(Brown, T., Williams, B., & Etherington, J. 2016). A strength of this is being able to see and know how things effect people. An elevated level of
emotional intelligence can help a coach understand a lot about a client. As a coach, it is important to be aware of the client's emotions. For example,
let's say you are working with a client and to start the session you say a joke. Your purpose of the joke is to lighten the mood and ease the client into
the situation. However, the client

I am here today carrying out the task to talk about this year's theme, "Connecting You to Career Success," as way to help me develop my public
speaking skills. As a member of SkillsUSA, I want to be successful in the career of my dreams. This is a thought that is shared by many others, and
is one of the driving forces as to why we have joined this organization. Permit me to share a story. Recently, I have learned about the accomplishments
of a fellow SkillsUSA member of Hawaii. That person is a high school senior named Jordan Abanto. I read Abanto's story in the SkillsUSA Champions
Magazine for Fall 2015. As an individual, he had developed his public speaking skills through the Job Skill Demonstration Open competition for the
past three years. He had also competed in the State Pin Design competition for SkillsUSA and displayed his graphic designing skill through what he
had created. Obviously, the teachings that he learned in this society had benefited him.
When Abanto reflected on his experience being in SkillsUSA, he stated, "SkillsUSA has helped me gain the skills I'll use after my high school

The Four Language Skills
2.6.3 English Language Skill
(Essberger, 2017), "When we acquire a language, there are four skills that we need for complete communication. When we learn our native language,
we usually learn to listen first, then to speak, then to read, and finally to write. These are called the four "language skills": Listening, speaking, reading,
and writing." It means that even in the first language acquisition, people develop the four skills of communication or language.
According to Essberger, Josef (2017), The four language skills are related to each other in two ways: the direction of communication (in or out), the
method of communication (spoken or written). In fact, each skill had a big relation, which allows learners to develop their English Language ... Show

For this reason, it is necessary to look for good resources and materials to support the language teaching–learning process. It necessary to notice the role
that each skill plays in the language acquisition. For instance, Listening is considered as the basis of developing the other skills, it is because, through
listening, learners learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Then, reading, permit learners to expand their vocabulary and learn grammatical
structure. After that, writing, which allows students to produce the language. Finally, speaking recognizes as one of the main skill that allows students
to produce the language and use the knowledge that acquired with the other skills.
2.6.4 Writing Skill
"Writing is the productive skill in the written mode. It, too, is more complicated than it seems at first and often seems to be the hardest of the skills,
even for native speakers of a language, since it involves not just a graphic representation of speech, but the development and presentation of thoughts in
a structured way." (Cynthia, 2013)
Writing skill is considered as a productive skill, it is because it makes students to produce the language using grammatical structures and vocabulary that
has been learned before. In addition, it represents the ideas and thoughts that learners want to translate in a sheet of

Business Skills For A Business
Business skills
Business skills are skills which are needed by candidates for a business to recruit them. I have some business skills and they are communication
skills, confidence, leadership, I am organised and I can prioritise tasks appropriately. I have extensive experience in delivering presentations to large
groups. This has enhanced my skills such as confidence, clarity and self belief. One of the presentations that I delivered included designing a new
product for coca cola. The goal was to provide a drink that was healthy as well as attractive to customers. This task provided me with the opportunity
to gain new skills such as research and teamwork. Further to this, I was also able to recognise a few weaknesses that I was able to improve through
teamwork and effective communication such as differences of opinion and disagreements.
I am very well organised as I always arrive to school on time, with the required books and equipment. This shows my punctuality and my desire to
progress. My school attendance is 100% as I have not missed a single day of school. I also have a lot of leadership skills because I have been
appointed to be group leader in many situations. For example, when I had to create a podcast for cyber bullying with my team, I had to show
leadership and organise my team by setting them different tasks and giving them deadlines according to each individuals skill set. This shows that I can
be responsible and cope under pressure.

Skill shortages, recruitment and retention in the house building sector
Linda Clarke and Georg Herrmann
Westminster Business School, University of Westminster, London, UK
Abstract
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to show how internal and external labour markets operate in the construction sector, associated with different
strategies taken by п¬Ѓrms in recruiting and retaining particular groups of employees. It draws on research of the house building sector which aims to
discover how far п¬Ѓrms develop human resource policies, recruitment and retention strategies, and training and development activities in response to

This paper shows how such craft labour markets tend to predominate for operatives in the house building sector in Britain and how they impact on
recruitment and selection, especially through subcontracting, which plays a signiп¬Ѓcant role in their operation. In doing so, the paper builds on and –
through focusing on recruitment and retention – extends our previous research, which has identiп¬Ѓed the British construction industry as typiп¬Ѓed
by a "craft" production system compared with the more industrialised systems found in continental countries such as Germany and the Netherlands
(Clarke and Wall, 2000). This craft system, especially strong in house building, lays emphasis above all on selling the products of labour associated
with a particular trade. With it, traditional apprenticeship and/or learning on–the–job survive as the main means of training, wages tend to be
output–based, labour is employed casually from one project to another rather than by п¬Ѓrm, п¬Ѓrms are small and self–employment high. Not all
British construction п¬Ѓrms conform to this picture of craft production, above all in their policies for recruitment and retention. There are more
regulated and formal approaches to the labour market, as evident from our surveys – particularly for those п¬Ѓrms identiп¬Ѓed as "good practice" –
and from Lockyer and Scholarios (2007) in

Skills Deduction Essay
THEORY OF SKILL ACQUISITION
BY HUBERT AND STUART DREYFUS
Sam Sedaei
One of the major aspects of traditional epistemology, and its manifestation in artificial intelligence research and the philosophy of mind is its emphasis
on the formal system of deduction and premises and propositional knowledge. Hubert and Stuart Dreyfus argue that this formal system of deduction is
one of the problems with traditional epistemology, since much of our sense of judgment and the process which we go through to form beliefs is not a
matter of starting with premises and by plugging them into a formula in order to deduct conclusions. But rather it is a gradual process that involves
being embodied in different ways and developing skills that would make it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the third stage, competence, the agent starts becoming personally involved with the task. He starts to see more than one option from which he
has to choose the best one. For instance, at some point he realizes that he can either take away the opponent's knight, or he can give up his own knight
but take the opponent's queen. In the forth stage or proficiency stage, the performer, while intuitively understanding his task, still thinks analytically
about his actions. For instance, despite having so much experience in chess, he might still have to think and consider alternative moves in critical
situations by predicting what the opponent is going to play next. The last stage is called expertise. Experts in general know what to do based on mature
understanding of the task. An expert has had so much experience with the task that the skill of doing the task is a part of him.
He acts upon correct intuitions without analytically thinking about his every move. For instance in chess, he has had so much experience playing that
no matter what the arrangement of the chess pieces are, it is highly likely that he has been in the same situation before and is able to decide what the
right move is in a real short amount of time. They also emphasize on the fact that practice is required for the agent to maintain the

Importance Of Communication Skills
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
When dealing with the organization and execution of such teaching in classrooms we find teachers who may or may not have the skills necessary to
communicate with their students, skills that can facilitate or preclude fulfillment of the teaching proposal. Teachers are expected to be fluent and able
to communicate effectively in language. They should be able to convey their thoughts with clarity and confidence both in written and oral forms. They
are also expected to be active listeners while providing the necessary response. They should also be capable of giving and using technology during
presentation confidently. No teacher will succeed if they don't have good communication skills. Clear, concise, and to the point – the better your
communication skills are, the easier your lessons will be. There are many different types of classes available to help some teachers who may need help
improving their skills.
CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
With this skill, teachers should be able to think in a critical, creative, innovative, and analytical manner which includes the ability to apply knowledge.
Elements that they must possess under this aspect are the ability to identify and analyze complex situation as well as making evaluations that are
justifiable. They should also have the ability to expand and improve thinking skills, to provide ideas and alternative solutions.

Soft Skills In The Workplace
How often should you use soft skills? You should use soft skills every day. Soft skills are always going to be used in different workplaces. Different
types of soft skills to help a person will be interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication skills. First of all with soft skills you will always deal
with interpersonal skills. An interpersonal skill deals with communicating with people and organizing for your environment and your own business.
Problem solving has the ability to solve any problem that you are having at work or at any place. Imagine everybody respecting each other at work
and being on time the whole week. Secondly, a soft skill also deals with teamwork because if you do not have team work you will not be able to
work with others. Employers like to have somebody that will work well with others and help them. If you are a leader in everything that you do you
can be a mentor for someone. Teamwork is the best thing you can ever do because you can achieve goals. Being a team player and getting the job

Communications Skills Reflect and describe which key concepts and topics in Federal Income Tax course have made you a stronger candidate to
enter the business world. The basic concepts from the course that have improved my understanding of federal income taxes include: the discussion on

independent auditors in the future. The combination of these factors has made me a stronger candidate by seeing how this is impacting a number of
firms. This will allow me to introduce concepts that can help these companies to address critical needs by: imposing strict internal controls. (Wolfman,

concepts that I learned from this course will help to improve my ability to identify and troubleshoot these weaknesses. When a firm has executives that
are taking this kind of focus, it will lead to a transformation of the operating environment. This is because everyone knows that certain issues will not
be tolerated (with the potential of someone blowing the whistle). In the future, this will change how everyone is conducting their jobs by: having an

Therapeutic Leadership Skills
There are several leadership skills that are needed to run an effective and therapeutic group. The primary skills are cutting off; drawing out; and
holding, shifting, and deepening the focus (Jacobs, 2016). As the group moves into the middles stage sessions other skills can be beneficial for the
leader (Jacobs, 2016). These skills include use of progress reports, introducing topics, inspiring thoughts, changing the format, varying the style of
leadership, restructuring the group, varying the tone of voice, utilization of resources and projects, meeting one on one with the members, and
communicating with the group prior to the groups ending (Jacobs, 2016). This skill can aid in creating an environment that is both valuable and
meaningful experiences (Jacobs, 2016)
Progress reports are used as follow up for issues discussed in prior sessions, the time should be limited, however, catching up with progress is very
valuable in building the bond of the group (Jacobs, 2016). The introduction of new topics by the leader can keep the group fresh and energized; the
topics should be representative of the direction of the themes brought out by the group (Jacobs, 2016). Inspiring thoughts can be facilitated by
exercises or asking probing questions that encourage sharing and discussion (Jacobs, 2016). The leader can change the style of their leadership; they
can provide more of an encouragement, role or aggressive role, whichever is most beneficial to the group (Jacobs, 2016). If need the leader can also

The Importance Of Communication Skills
Communication is something I'm sure everyone has heard a lot of. We are always told to communicate well with others but communicating and more
specifically communication skills need more attention. I tend to communicate without using proper communication skills and it makes simple things
harder than they need should be. To be successful in postsecondary education and beyond I must use effectivecommunication skills as they create a
solid foundation for learning and collaborating. Communication skills involve speaking, listening, writing and good body language. The most
successful people will be well versed in each aspect. Many people forget that listening is a vital part of effective communication. Listening to someone

You don't want to be trying to explain yourself for hours over something that could have taken no time at all. The first thing to remember is think
before you speak. Know what you are trying to say before you say it as it will save you a lot of time. This will also make you seem confident in
what you are saying. Therefore, people will be reassured and more likely to not only believe what you are saying but to want to listen. Part of
verbal communication is asking questions. Questions are important for when you are unsure of something or maybe want someone else's opinion.
At post secondary education, there will be times when you do not understand something in a lecture. This is the time when a question will be
useful. You should word your questions in a way that is bound to be answered how you need it to be. Yes or no questions are usually very simple
and hard to branch off of into more detail. When you are trying to encourage discussion always ask open ended questions that everyone can add
something of their own too. No matter how good your verbal communication skills are you still always need to think about your body language.

Transferable Skills
What are Transferable Skills?
We all have "learned" abilities and "natural" abilities. Learned abilities are our skills and natural abilities are our talents. So what are Transferable skills
or job–related skills? Simply put, transferable skills are the skills and abilities you have acquired during any activity in your life – your jobs, classes,
projects, volunteer work, parenting, hobbies, sports, virtually anything – that are applicable to what you want to do in your next job. Learned abilities
are skills you develop throughout your life and can apply to a variety of situations. An example would be the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
Job–related skills are skills that you use while in a particular job. An example: dental hygienist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Three Key Skills
The workplace has changed over the course over many years, however I do not think that the skills needed to be successful have changed with it. The
three key skills an individual should possess to be successful include communication, adaptability, and willingness to learn. With these three key skills,
I believe any individual can succeed in the career he/she choses.
Communication is the number one skill an individual should possess due to the fact that nothing can be done without communicating with another
individual. In the workforce, tasks do not get completed fully by one individual. It takes two to three individuals to fully complete a task at work. For
example, a nurse cannot fully provide good patient care without being able to communicate

languages words. Another example is a person who can perform a work which cannot be done by other person perfectly. Action of work is a skin
of the person. These skills are developed by those activities which we performed in our routine life. As per the requirement of the case I have to
mention those activities which I have done in the classroom and have to mention those academic skills and career skills which have been improved

Important skills for the workplace today
Nowadays, workers are being requested getting more and more challenges and difficulties in every aspects of working environments. Employers are
looking to people who have special skills which can apply directly to many different tasks. Therefore, people have been competed to figure out and
practice their personal skills since they are still in the college. There are many important skills for the workplace but I would to say that not all skills
are useful for different kinds of jobs. So, they need to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To solve these problems, adaptation is a significant factor. Workers will need to use adaptation skills to respect and accept other people lives. When
they can adapt the differences from others, they know how to change their perspectives and appreciate others abilities("Internet data" 2010). For
example, a group of workers are doing a project. They come from different countries with different styles, cultures and religions. They must avoid
making any discrimination to each others. So, in this situation they need adaptation skills. It will help you to accept and work well with others. Each
person must change their perspectives a bit to link with others. Just when they can do that, they can have a good expectation about their project. They
use adaptation skills to have better quality in their jobs. And that's why workers with adaptation skills will be looked by employers. On the other hand,
how students can improve this skill is also a topic that has been widely discussed. Personally, I think college is very good place to practice adaptation
skills because there are many different kinds of people in the college. It means they need to learn to adapt different styles from friends, classmates or
teachers. Everyone can't enforce others to follow them. But when they try to understand and adapt others styles by a right way which also can call one
kind of practicing adaptation skills such as different teachers have different

Questions On Skills And Skills
Skills Approach Introduction The area of leadership skills and abilities has been studied by many researchers. One of the models was put forward
by Katz in which he determined three various levels of skills that leaders in organizations must have. These skills included technical skills, human
skills and conceptual skills (Northouse, 2015). The researcher stated that these skills tend to differ from qualities or traits of leaders as skills
describe what leaders can attain while traits describe who they are. This report will discuss the reflection of the perceptions of ranking of these skills
in the previous, current or predicted work setting. Discussion As Katz proposed the three skills, it is perceived that these skills must be ranked... Show

It must be noticed that without people, leaders or managers will not be required. Hence, to do work with people and to motivate them, human skill is
needed as this skill also allows managers to become leaders. Human skill is the primary requirement for managers. In my previous organization that I
worked, my manager was less in human skills. He does not effectively get along with people. He was just focused on task outcomes and do not
communicate effectively with people. Although he used to communicate with people, but his communication was not effective that could motivate his
sub–ordinates. With the lack of human skills, he sometimes failed to understand other people opinion and used to implement his decisions without
involving others. Hence, I think that my predicted supervisor must have human skill so that employees under his subordination can do their tasks in
better manner. Conceptual Skills The ability to work with concepts and ideas reflects conceptual skills. Conceptual skills are placed on the second
level of importance as leaders need to better understand and decide the actions required and measures which needs to be taken in a specific task. In
spite of the fact that these skills are highly required at top level managerial hierarchy, it is also believed that middle and lower level managers require
this skill but can vary according to the situation faced. For instance, let us

Psychomotor Skills Development: Psychomotor Skills
Psychomotor Skills
In his classic book entitled Permanent Learning Lancelot (1944) proposed that psychomotor skill development requires a blending of the mind and
muscle. He further explained that manipulative acts are guided by thought, and that a direct relationship exists between the quality of thought and the
quality of manipulative performance. Watson (1980) agreed that psychomotorskill development involves both muscle and thinking skills. According to
Watson, psychomotor skills are acquired through a three stage process: (1) early cognitive– usually of short duration and includes attention,
observation, and thought about how and why the skill is performed, (2) lengthy practice or fixation – includes practice sessions aimed at shaping
correct performance, and (3) final autonomous stage – correct performance becomes automatic, with increases in speed, accuracy, dexterity, timing, and
greater understanding of application settings. Unfortunately, college students do not always reach the final autonomous stage. However, advanced
stages of the skill acquisition process are often attainable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The exception is mental practice, a theory in its infancy at the time of Lancelot's work. (1) The development of psychomotor or manipulative skills is
a complex process that for most skills requires high level mental thought as well as physical activity; (2) the preparation and presentation activities of
teachers have a definite influence upon skill acquisition; (3) skill acquisition appears to be NACTA Journal– March 1986 highest when students are
motivated to perform the skill, demonstrations are provided which can be imitated by students, both physical and mental practice are provided, and
knowledge of performance results is provided; and (4) retention and transfer of psychomotor skills may be improved through these same teaching

The skill which I learned during this academic year was the oral presentation skill. This skill helps to speak confidently in front of people while
presenting a topic. This skill can help a person for example like a person who is shy or not confident to speak in front of people so therefore they can
learn this skill and be full confident to present and speak among people. This skill not only helps to speak confidently but also helps to improve the
accent, grammar and vocabulary of the person so therefore the person having this skill can easily improve himself/herself without any support from

individual presentation at first I was nervous but after watching my classmates presentations I got motivated and carried out my presentation. From
that day onwards I felt that I am starting to learn this skill. Then after the group presentations I believed that now I have totally adopted this skill and
it was totally fun and interesting for me to go and do more and more presentation. This skill taught me to be professional speaker and also taught me

Language Skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading, And...
In real–life communication, people use a variety of language skills, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. When people learn a foreign language,
they usually want to make use of that language to communicate with people who speak the same language. They can find themselves in the need of
understanding them and talking to them. As Raimes (1983) states, listening and speaking are, regardless of whom the people using the language are, at
least as important as the other skills to communicate.
Thus, it is essential for students to understand the language they are exposed to and respond appropriately so that they can become competent users
of that particular language. Seferoglu and Uzakgöre (2004) cited in Tavil (2010) indicate that listening is an interactive process. The listener does
not always just listen to, but he or she also reacts to the speaker or asks questions for clarification. The most essential issue for the students should be
to understand what they are listening to and be able to give appropriate responses orally. This aim clarifies the integration of ... Show more content on

What Are Transferable Skills?
Transferable skills can often be described as essential, general skills which can be developed from the workplace, throughout studies and life in
general, helping us to understand and deal with different types of situations (McGann, 2010).
Personal qualities I possess, would be that I can bear responsibility. By admitting responsibility, it allows me to learn from my mistakes and turn these
experiences into a positive one. My self– reliance also allows me to handle things on my own without much assistance as I am comfortable and
confident with doing things alone, in turn, reflecting how independent I am. Although I am fairly opinionated, I do obtain an open mind as it helps me
to explore and engage with new and different ideas and perspectives, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Armstrong (2006) suggests staying in a 'happy mood' can help boost one's creativity. I need a basic understanding of numeracy and literacy which I
already possess and listening skills which I can develop through my placement when listening to children read. By volunteering as a classroom
assistant in a reception class, I need to have patience, especially when dealing with challenging children. Lastly, I need to have the ability to work as
part of team and know how to manage groups of children. Training in safeguarding and reading was provided on my induction day which was
necessary as it taught us how to and interact and deal with young children appropriately.
Sgobbi & Suleman (2015) contribute to our understanding of transferable skills stating that 'transferable skills increase workers' employability' and
that they can also be applied to different social contexts (Bridges, 1993). The skills I will gain through my placement will hopefully help me gain a

Skills Identification Worksheet
Skills Statement According to the skills identification worksheet, I have a grand total of 21 skills, mostly through job and school experience. While
some of these skills I gained in the military, I consider military experience as job experience, so I did not mark them as "other experience". The skills
were separated into seven different areas of experience. I had at least one skill in each area. The first area was communication. I chose sales/marketing
and explaining/listening as job experience skills. I remember working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as a sales representative in the
electronics department. I had to be able to listen to the customers' needs when they came in looking for a particular type of product and then ... Show

Most of these skills would fall under job experience. The ability to learn quickly was especially important in the military. During technical training
the Air Force is trying to push you through as fast as possible to continue feeding the pipeline. If you can't keep up, you're recycled into another
career field. One that you may not find as rewarding an experience than the job you initially wanted. Positive attitude is a crucial skill to have in
working with a team. A negative attitude can really slow down a project if it begins to spread to other members. This is just something you learn
when entering the workforce. You begin to learn who to avoid based on their attitudes. I marked work ethic as other experience because I feel like
this is something I learned from my father. I remember my father waking up very early every morning to head to work and support his wife and four
children. He would even ride a bike to work 11 miles away when his car broke down. I'll always remember that. The last skills I checked off in this area
were dependability/ reliability and flexibility. I grouped these two together because I feel like they sort of fit together. If you're not very flexible
than you can't really be relied on to step up and take a shift when someone needs you to. I marked them under work experience and I am certain the
people I have worked for would substantiate this for me. I would say a lack of

Empathy Skills
During this recap, I found my empathy skills strong at times, but I also found that I used some of the other skills as well. I used empathy during the
beginning of the session when repeating back to Adalee that she was sad that she forgot her bunny and that she did not feel she could sleep without it.
I also feel that I was able to use empathy effectively when we were going through her animals and eliminating ones that she did not want to sleep with.
On the other hand, Adalee was having a hard time understanding that she needed to go to sleep and that she had to do it without her Bunny that she had

I have tried using empathy with Adalee before in situations like these and it tends to lead into a repetitive conversation of Adalee saying she is sad

understand that I was sorry she didn't have her bunny and I did wish I could fix it and make it better. I also wanted her to understand that to me it was
really important that she go to sleep. I also chose to try to use inductive discipline at the end. I wanted to point out that even though this was a
challenge for her and not what she wanted, she still tried it and I was thankful for her cooperation. Lastly, throughout the majority of the recap I used
collaborative goal setting. I felt that this skill was necessary in this situation to accomplish what I wanted and what Adalee needed. Though I still
feel as though I could have gone deeper with the empathy, I believe that I captured Adalee's main concern; that her special animal was not with her
and she needed another animal that was as special to take its place. She really needed me to understand how important her Bunny was to her. I feel
that once I empathized this point with her she became more willing to explore ways to solve the problem. In all, I feel that this recap was a success.

because it is usually difficult to describe key leadership skills with a broad brush. However, there are some fundamental skills that all great leaders
share in common regardless of the type of group that they are leading. Whether you are leading a commercial enterprise or a nonprofit organization, or
if you are an elected leader in government, these are five key leadership skills that you must master:

Once they have formulated a vision, then they must be able to communicate it. The best leaders not only communicate the facts, but do it in an
inspiring way. They are able to persuade their followers that they will be able to lead them to a better place. If a leader can't communicate effectively,
then he or she will be ineffective as a leader.
Political Savvy: Political savvy is a skill that leaders use to assess the needs of the various stakeholder groups within their organization. They are
also good at recognizing who represents these groups as key subordinate leaders within their organization. Using their political skills, great leaders are
able to build coalitions by common cause among the key stakeholders. If a leader is unable to build collation, they will find it very difficult to move
ahead with their agenda.
Resilience: Resilience is the skill that leaders need to overcome obstacles. No matter what agenda or vision the leader may want to pursue, it is
always the case that they will run into road blocks on their journey. Resilience is the skill that leaders use to circumvent the road blocks and continue
their journey. They focus on what they can do to solve the problem rather than blame others or become paralyzed with

Executive Summary: This report provides and explanation, examination and recommendations of listening, questioning and feedback as interpersonal
skills in the engineering field. Each of the three skills were defined using an academic textbook. These skills of listening questioning and feedback were
than all examined using journal articles to find benefits of them in relation to the engineering field. The major challenges including the fact that
technical skills are currently the focus in an engineering environment and not interpersonal skills meaning that listening, questioning and feedback
skills won't be as effective as they could be. The other challenge listed is that engineering workplaces are mainly made up of multinational people
which means that English is unlikely to be the first language for some. This in turn creates a significant communication barrier which can be hard to
remove. From the examination and challenges of the three skills it can be concluded that these skills are important to ones success in this field and

What Are The Skills Of Language Skills Essay

much attention will be paid mainly to one category of language skills and those are productive skills. In my experience as a teacher of English in Egypt,
I have met many students who have some challenges with writing and speaking English. This essay will spot the most common challenges that my
students faced and how they overcame these challenges.
Starting with speaking skill, fluency is the main target of teaching speaking. According to Hughes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the students translate Arabic into English they sometimes use words causing misunderstanding and confusion. For example, a sentence like "Flu

The Leadership Skills Of The Workplace

  • 1. The Leadership Skills Of The Workplace Innovation in the workplace is a competitive force that give businesses like Apple and Samsung a competitive advantage over other competitors. Innovation is not a new concept for businesses in the workplace, it has been around for a long time. However, businesses are focusing on innovation because they understand the key benefits of innovation. Innovation is supported in organizations through different leadership practices. Discover skills are important in the business and help drive innovation for organizations. Discovery skills have both strengths and weaknesses and can help or hurt a leader's ability to support innovation in the workplace. It would be difficult to choose just two leadership practice that support innovation in organizations. Leslie (2009) stated that the most needed leadership skills needed now and later in the future were ; strategic planning, leading employees, inspiring commitment, managing change, being a quick learner, being resourceful and doing whatever it takes. However, the five leadership skills that are the most important to support innovation are leading people, strategic planning, inspiring commitment, managing change and employee development. Leading people is a fundamental leadership skill that is very powerful, just like the quote says, "Set the example for others". If a leader can set an example for being innovator, the leader can also lead their direct reports to also drive innovation in their company. Leaders can both motivate and ... Volunteering Skills Soft Skills in Workplace Volunteering and Internship Hoy (2011, p. 29) believed that internships and volunteering allow students to have a taste of the environment that they hope to be employed after they finished schooling. In fact, it is through internships that students are provided with the sufficient skills that would help them in the transition stage– from study to work (The Centre for Volunteering, 2015). In line of this assertion, this paper will identify the workplace opportunity I have chosen, and provide for four soft skills that I can use in the said internship opportunity. I believe that this soft skill is an advantage in my archival internship because with having the sense of responsibility, I am able to put up effort and perform my duty to the best of my ability. Creative Thinking Doyle (2016) argued that through creative thinking, a person is able to come up with unique solutions. As a result, efficiency is increased. In my archival internship, it is important that I am able to think beyond the box because it is through this that I am able to perform a wide variety of task. For example, in making the archive accessible to users, I must think of ways on how to creatively produce the materials. Conclusion I believe that the four soft skills I have chosen could positively impact my archival internship because an archivist is the one responsible not only for the provision and care of collections and information which preserve the past must also to manage it. Through my communication skill, I am able to answer enquiries and assist on organizing public events such as exhibitions and talks. Through being flexible, I am able to present my positive attitude regardless of the situation of the situation I am in. With my strong ethic work, I can perform my responsibility excellently. When employers look for some one to hire they are looking for people with specific skills to fit the job. Each job has different skills that are accompanied with each job, but there are four main areas in which all employers look for when they want to hire somebody. They are: basic skills, thinking skills, people skills, and most importantly personal qualities. When I say basic skills I mean skills that we learn while we are in school. The purpose of this study was to examine a novice learner performing a skill, in which improvement, retention, consistency, adaptability and stages of learning would be tested. The individual chose juggling three beanbags for the skill to be learned. The subject had to learn how to juggle three beanbags at once using both hands. Crisis Counselor Skills Skills, Knowledge, and Training Required for Crisis Counselors When counselors choose to be on a disaster response team they need to be aware of the skills and knowledge that is required for the job. The first thing that counselors need to be aware of is the burnout rate of being a disaster counselor. According to Sommer (2008), there is four components that a clinician needs to be an effective disaster counselor. There are many benefits of refining your skills and learning new ones, but there are also some challenges that come along with them as well. In this paper, I will discuss some strengths and challenges of each skill. Recognition skills are described as the process of being able to identify, recognize, and be aware of others (Deffler, S. A., Leary, M. R., & Hoyle, R. H. 2016). Nonverbal communication is something that someone with high recognition skills pick up on. A strength to motivation is that it can drive you to obtain your goal (McLeod, A., Hewitt, B., Gibbs, D., & Kristof, C. 2017). In the coaching realm, we are going to have to try and motivate our clients, whether it be for intrinsic or extrinsic reasons. In coaching this is huge and a very important component. A challenge of this is not being able to motivate someone. In some cases, there is nothing someone can do to motivate someone. You cannot make someone want something or do something. Another skill that can be utilized in coaching is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is being aware of the emotions, whether it be the emotions of others or of yourself (Brown, T., Williams, B., & Etherington, J. 2016). A strength of this is being able to see and know how things effect people. An elevated level of emotional intelligence can help a coach understand a lot about a client. As a coach, it is important to be aware of the client's emotions. For example, let's say you are working with a client and to start the session you say a joke. Your purpose of the joke is to lighten the mood and ease the client into the situation. However, the client ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recently, I have learned about the accomplishments of a fellow SkillsUSA member of Hawaii. That person is a high school senior named Jordan Abanto. I read Abanto's story in the SkillsUSA Champions Magazine for Fall 2015. As an individual, he had developed his public speaking skills through the Job Skill Demonstration Open competition for the past three years. He had also competed in the State Pin Design competition for SkillsUSA and displayed his graphic designing skill through what he had created. • 12. The Four Language Skills 2.6.3 English Language Skill (Essberger, 2017), "When we acquire a language, there are four skills that we need for complete communication. When we learn our native language, we usually learn to listen first, then to speak, then to read, and finally to write. These are called the four "language skills": Listening, speaking, reading, and writing." It means that even in the first language acquisition, people develop the four skills of communication or language. According to Essberger, Josef (2017), The four language skills are related to each other in two ways: the direction of communication (in or out), the method of communication (spoken or written). I have some business skills and they are communication skills, confidence, leadership, I am organised and I can prioritise tasks appropriately. I have extensive experience in delivering presentations to large groups. This has enhanced my skills such as confidence, clarity and self belief. One of the presentations that I delivered included designing a new product for coca cola. The goal was to provide a drink that was healthy as well as attractive to customers. This task provided me with the opportunity to gain new skills such as research and teamwork. Further to this, I was also able to recognise a few weaknesses that I was able to improve through teamwork and effective communication such as differences of opinion and disagreements. I am very well organised as I always arrive to school on time, with the required books and equipment. This shows my punctuality and my desire to progress. My school attendance is 100% as I have not missed a single day of school. I also have a lot of leadership skills because I have been appointed to be group leader in many situations. For example, when I had to create a podcast for cyber bullying with my team, I had to show leadership and organise my team by setting them different tasks and giving them deadlines according to each individuals skill set. This paper shows how such craft labour markets tend to predominate for operatives in the house building sector in Britain and how they impact on recruitment and selection, especially through subcontracting, which plays a signiп¬Ѓcant role in their operation. In doing so, the paper builds on and – through focusing on recruitment and retention – extends our previous research, which has identiп¬Ѓed the British construction industry as typiп¬Ѓed by a "craft" production system compared with the more industrialised systems found in continental countries such as Germany and the Netherlands (Clarke and Wall, 2000). This craft system, especially strong in house building, lays emphasis above all on selling the products of labour associated with a particular trade. With it, traditional apprenticeship and/or learning on–the–job survive as the main means of training, wages tend to be output–based, labour is employed casually from one project to another rather than by п¬Ѓrm, п¬Ѓrms are small and self–employment high. Not all British construction п¬Ѓrms conform to this picture of craft production, above all in their policies for recruitment and retention. There are more regulated and formal approaches to the labour market, as evident from our surveys – particularly for those п¬Ѓrms identiп¬Ѓed as "good practice" – and from Lockyer and Scholarios (2007) in ... Skills Deduction Essay THEORY OF SKILL ACQUISITION BY HUBERT AND STUART DREYFUS Sam Sedaei One of the major aspects of traditional epistemology, and its manifestation in artificial intelligence research and the philosophy of mind is its emphasis on the formal system of deduction and premises and propositional knowledge. Hubert and Stuart Dreyfus argue that this formal system of deduction is one of the problems with traditional epistemology, since much of our sense of judgment and the process which we go through to form beliefs is not a matter of starting with premises and by plugging them into a formula in order to deduct conclusions. For instance, at some point he realizes that he can either take away the opponent's knight, or he can give up his own knight but take the opponent's queen. In the forth stage or proficiency stage, the performer, while intuitively understanding his task, still thinks analytically about his actions. For instance, despite having so much experience in chess, he might still have to think and consider alternative moves in critical situations by predicting what the opponent is going to play next. The last stage is called expertise. Experts in general know what to do based on mature understanding of the task. An expert has had so much experience with the task that the skill of doing the task is a part of him. He acts upon correct intuitions without analytically thinking about his every move. The primary skills are cutting off; drawing out; and holding, shifting, and deepening the focus (Jacobs, 2016). As the group moves into the middles stage sessions other skills can be beneficial for the leader (Jacobs, 2016). These skills include use of progress reports, introducing topics, inspiring thoughts, changing the format, varying the style of leadership, restructuring the group, varying the tone of voice, utilization of resources and projects, meeting one on one with the members, and communicating with the group prior to the groups ending (Jacobs, 2016). Inspiring thoughts can be facilitated by exercises or asking probing questions that encourage sharing and discussion (Jacobs, 2016). It must be noticed that without people, leaders or managers will not be required. Hence, to do work with people and to motivate them, human skill is needed as this skill also allows managers to become leaders. Human skill is the primary requirement for managers. In my previous organization that I worked, my manager was less in human skills. He does not effectively get along with people. He was just focused on task outcomes and do not communicate effectively with people. Although he used to communicate with people, but his communication was not effective that could motivate his sub–ordinates. With the lack of human skills, he sometimes failed to understand other people opinion and used to implement his decisions without involving others. Hence, I think that my predicted supervisor must have human skill so that employees under his subordination can do their tasks in better manner. Conceptual Skills The ability to work with concepts and ideas reflects conceptual skills. Conceptual skills are placed on the second level of importance as leaders need to better understand and decide the actions required and measures which needs to be taken in a specific task. In spite of the fact that these skills are highly required at top level managerial hierarchy, it is also believed that middle and lower level managers require this skill but can vary according to the situation faced. When people learn a foreign language, they usually want to make use of that language to communicate with people who speak the same language. Transferable skills can often be described as essential, general skills which can be developed from the workplace, throughout studies and life in general, helping us to understand and deal with different types of situations (McGann, 2010). Personal qualities I possess, would be that I can bear responsibility. By admitting responsibility, it allows me to learn from my mistakes and turn these experiences into a positive one. My self– reliance also allows me to handle things on my own without much assistance as I am comfortable and confident with doing things alone, in turn, reflecting how independent I am. Although I am fairly opinionated, I do obtain an open mind as it helps me to explore and engage with new and different ideas and perspectives, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Armstrong (2006) suggests staying in a 'happy mood' can help boost one's creativity. I need a basic understanding of numeracy and literacy which I already possess and listening skills which I can develop through my placement when listening to children read. By volunteering as a classroom assistant in a reception class, I need to have patience, especially when dealing with challenging children. Lastly, I need to have the ability to work as part of team and know how to manage groups of children. Training in safeguarding and reading was provided on my induction day which was necessary as it taught us how to and interact and deal with young children appropriately. Sgobbi & Suleman (2015) contribute to our understanding of transferable skills stating that 'transferable skills increase workers' employability' and that they can also be applied to different social contexts (Bridges, 1993). The skills I will gain through my placement will hopefully help me gain a better understanding of young children as in the future I'd like to pursue a career in social work, specifically dealing with young ... • 34. Skills Identification Worksheet Skills Statement According to the skills identification worksheet, I have a grand total of 21 skills, mostly through job and school experience. While some of these skills I gained in the military, I consider military experience as job experience, so I did not mark them as "other experience". The skills were separated into seven different areas of experience. I had at least one skill in each area. The first area was communication. I chose sales/marketing and explaining/listening as job experience skills. I remember working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as a sales representative in the electronics department. I had to be able to listen to the customers' needs when they came in looking for a particular type of product and then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of these skills would fall under job experience. The ability to learn quickly was especially important in the military. During technical training the Air Force is trying to push you through as fast as possible to continue feeding the pipeline. If you can't keep up, you're recycled into another career field. One that you may not find as rewarding an experience than the job you initially wanted. Positive attitude is a crucial skill to have in working with a team. A negative attitude can really slow down a project if it begins to spread to other members. This is just something you learn when entering the workforce. You begin to learn who to avoid based on their attitudes. I marked work ethic as other experience because I feel like this is something I learned from my father. I remember my father waking up very early every morning to head to work and support his wife and four children. He would even ride a bike to work 11 miles away when his car broke down. I'll always remember that. The last skills I checked off in this area were dependability/ reliability and flexibility. I grouped these two together because I feel like they sort of fit together. If you're not very flexible than you can't really be relied on to step up and take a shift when someone needs you to. I marked them under work experience and I am certain the people I have worked for would substantiate this for me. I would say a lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Empathy Skills During this recap, I found my empathy skills strong at times, but I also found that I used some of the other skills as well. I used empathy during the beginning of the session when repeating back to Adalee that she was sad that she forgot her bunny and that she did not feel she could sleep without it. I also feel that I was able to use empathy effectively when we were going through her animals and eliminating ones that she did not want to sleep with. On the other hand, Adalee was having a hard time understanding that she needed to go to sleep and that she had to do it without her Bunny that she had left at the babysitter. This task seemed too difficult for her. As the time got later, I found myself getting frustrated, which is why I took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have tried using empathy with Adalee before in situations like these and it tends to lead into a repetitive conversation of Adalee saying she is sad and me restating with empathy. Therefore, I tired to use personal message at times to try and express my worries and my concerns. I wanted her to understand that I was sorry she didn't have her bunny and I did wish I could fix it and make it better. I also wanted her to understand that to me it was really important that she go to sleep. I also chose to try to use inductive discipline at the end. I wanted to point out that even though this was a challenge for her and not what she wanted, she still tried it and I was thankful for her cooperation. Lastly, throughout the majority of the recap I used collaborative goal setting. I felt that this skill was necessary in this situation to accomplish what I wanted and what Adalee needed. Though I still feel as though I could have gone deeper with the empathy, I believe that I captured Adalee's main concern; that her special animal was not with her and she needed another animal that was as special to take its place. She really needed me to understand how important her Bunny was to her. I feel that once I empathized this point with her she became more willing to explore ways to solve the problem. In all, I feel that this recap was a success. Though there are plenty of areas for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I started to get more involved in group tasks in tutorial by gaining a role in the group, whether this was a team leader or a researcher, I managed to do this quite easily and soon enough I was creating some great relationships with my class mates which also spread to outside the tutorials. What I now do differently as a result of achieving this goal is become a much stronger personality around other people. I have been pleased to find class mates asking to work with me on tasks as they say they work well with me. I have now become the most involved in group tasks and often find myself becoming the team leader. This has become apparent recently when finding a house for eight of us to move into in 2nd year. I was the one who was finding all the houses to view and arranging appointments with estate agents and also organising the contracts and deposits from everyone. We have now signed for a fantastic 10 bed house which I managed to negotiate a great deal for 8 of us to move into. I am very proud of this achievement. What I found easy was actually being a team leader once into that role as it seemed to be a role that came very easily to me and maybe this says something for future jobs prospects.

The four skills of language are divided into two groups: the productive skills (writing and speaking), and receptive skills (reading and listening). In this paper much attention will be paid mainly to one category of language skills and those are productive skills. In my experience as a teacher of English in Egypt, I have met many students who have some challenges with writing and speaking English. For example, a sentence like "Flu infection spreads by peace with hand" is grammatically correct but meaningless. The student means "Flue infection is caused by greetings and handshakes". The words greetings and peace are of the same meaning in Arabic so the student wrote one instead of the other. To overcome such a challenge, EFL learners have to read more texts in the target language to enhance their vocabulary and how to put vocabulary into context. Also it is important for teachers to make the students aware of the differences in the structure of their native language and the target language. The only way to improve students' speaking and writing skills is to put them into use.
