• Many scholars say it started with Columbus’s voyage to the New World in
1492.
• As early as in the second century B.C. trade routes were explored which
stretched from ancient China to Rome. In fact, trading is as old as civilization

the Silk Road.
• The Silk Road, an ancient network of trade routes across China, Central
