her. She is getting ready by combing her
hair and putting in her “teeth Grill” which
are her props.
In this scene, Miley has located herself
on the bed. She is in a compromising
position and is promoting
sexualisation. The background is
darker and is focusing on miley.
Although she is positioned that way
she is in white which could represent
innocence. Which could be a
contradiction.
3. In this shot the camera angle
is focused on the singer as
she is in the middle of the
shot even though there are
other people in the shot. The
singer is wearing clothing that
detract from her voice and so
the audience focus more on
her body. The lighting is bright
and the whole scene is
energetic.

The lighting is dull and low which
represent the singers mood. The song is
about being heartbroken and missing
someone and wanting her back.
Because of this feeling the singer is
located in his apartment no knowing
what to do with himself.
This scene is also low lighting as it is
only using natural lighting. The
scene also is showing a flash back of
him and his partner before they
ended. But the singer is the main
focus and he is shadowed more than
the flash back has more natural light
focused on them.

sad and confused as she
read the letter. The lyrics
in the song “ dear Darling,
please excuse my writing.”
give the audience an idea
of what she is reading
without the audience
seeing it. The lighting
behind is bright with it
being a white background
but it is faded and dulled
down which could be
showing her mood that
she is upset or confused.

Even though they are all in the scene
the main focus is on the singer
because of the spot light that is
placed directly shining on the singer.
Which makes him the main focus. The
camera angle is slightly looking down
at the singer which shows the
audience the entire stage set.
This scene is of the main singer and the
dancers and also the musical
instruments and band. The effect is
black and white which represents an old
style of filming but also goes with the
tempo of the song. The theme is old
fashioned. The dancers are attracting
the audience but the spot light is still on
the singer making him the main focus.
7. In this scene another singer of the
video is introduced and she is also in
old fashioned styled clothing which fits
in to the theme of the music video. The
lighting is focused on both of them and
so the audience focus on them rather
than the background, even though the
band and dancers can still be seen in
the background. Throughout the music
video the location is in a grand hall. The
costumes are bright and white which
draws attention from the audience as
well as the spot lighting. The musical
instruments and staging all represents
an older style of music and
performance.
