2. Here I’ve listed some of the mise
en scene we’re using in each of
the scenes.
3. LIP-SYNCHING SCENE
➤ Black outfit- our influence for this
was Taylor Swift in her music
video Shake It Off. There’s a
scene where she is the main
focus of the shot and she’s
singing into a microphone
wearing a black top. Our
influence for the bright lipstick
came from this music video as
well. We used it because the
black outfit is plain and simple,
therefore the main focus is on the
lips and more attention is drawn
to the lips because of the bright
lipstick.
4. INTRO SCENE
➤ Social media - our influence of this
came from Little Mix - Hair. At the
beginning of this music video they
use an over the shoulder close up
shot of a phone with Instagram on
the screen. We thought we’d use
social media platforms throughout
the introduction to show we use up to
date software and hardware.
➤ Casual clothing - our influence of this
came from most pop music videos as
a majority of pop singers wear casual
clothes in their videos, therefore we
were influenced by this because we
wanted to keep the costumes simple
and casual.
5. MEMORY BOX SCENE
➤ Memory box- we were inspired to have a
memory box as a prop by wanting to film
flashbacks, therefore we needed something
to start showing the memories, for example
a friendship bracelet and old photos of the
two best friends.
➤ Photos- our influence of this came from
One Direction - Story of my Life. We were
inspired by this because we needed props
to show the memories and also to trigger
the flashbacks in the music video, therefore
we’re using a memory box with items inside
to set off the flashbacks between the two
friends.
6. SCHOOL SCENE
School uniform- our influence of this was
from Britney Spears’ music video ‘One More
Time.’ We wanted to use school uniform in
the music video to show how young the two
girls are and also that they were friends for a
long time, therefore we took some inspiration
from Britney’s music video and used school
uniform as one of the costumes.
Flashbacks- our influence of this was
from Taylor Swift’s music video
‘Everything Has Changed’ featuring Ed
Sheeran. This video inspired us to use
flashbacks throughout our music video
because we wanted to show their
friendship and how close they were
over the years. This meaning we are
using a variety of flashbacks to when
Kayleigh and Louisa were best friends.
7. SOUTHEND SCENE
Phone- again we were
influenced by Little Mix - Hair by
using a phone to get contact with
friends. We use this in this scene
because Louisa is at Southend
with another friend and she is
reminded about the time when
her and Kayleigh were at
Southend, so she goes to text
Kayleigh, but then deletes the
message.
8. SLEEPOVER SCENE
➤ Pyjama’s - we were influenced
by Little Mix - Hair again when
it came to choosing our outfits
for this scene. As it’s a girly
sleepover we thought it’d be
best to wear pyjama’s and do
girly activities whilst at the
sleepover, and we got this
inspiration from Little Mix
‘Hair’.
