3. Analysis
In this video whenever the lady in the mask is shown the colour scheme is black and white. This
suggests that the woman behind the mask is quite dark and trying to cover herself up. This is fairly
narrative. All other shots are shown with a lighter colour scheme to show a change in mood.
Whenever the man Is shown the colour contrast seems to enlighten. This may suggest that when
they are together they are happy. I like this music video because all shots are in a variety of
locations making it not boring. Many of the shots are mid shot to long shot to show how the lady
in the mask is an outcast in this society. It elaborates how different she is to all the other passing
people. I like this as it fits the idea that she is wearing a mask and the shots match this difference. I
also like the layout of Ellies blog. All tasks are shown with a picture highlighting what each one is
doing. This is all laid out with individual headings and in chronological order which is therefore very
easy to find. The blog is also covered with pictures relating to the music video almost suggesting
how the whole blog is based around this video.

5. Analysis
In this music video with the music arctic monkeys “Arabella” we are concentrated
on one man singing. The video is not narrative however the look, feel and colours
meet the tone of the music. The style of the man is fairly 1940s, moreover the
black and white colours fit the dark feel and aggressive tone of the arctic monkeys
as it is not happy music and neither are the connotations of black and white.
Most shots are just close ups of the man singing and smoking. This is very
simplistic and simple however effective because the video isn’t over the top and
wacky. Again this fits the type of rock music type as rock singers are associated
with smoking and aggression. The blog is also focused on this man. The whole
blog meets the feel of the music video and doesn’t change moods which is very
conbsistent.
