Which social groups feature in your film
In this film I am playing a working class white man who is naïve and the
underdog.
Conor is playing a middle class white man who is powerful and abusing
his power.
Rebecca is playing a working class non white lady who is the victim and
vulnerable.
Gender
• Our film is very stereotypical meaning that the men are strong and
the women are vulnerable and weak.
• The men in our film are the most powerful and intelligent, Conor the
hypnotist, and me the killer.
• The women in our film are weak and vulnerable, Rebecca is being
stalked and then got killed.
Ethnicity
• In our film the Ethnicity is overpowered by the white characters, me
and Conor are white characters and both the more powerful and
dominant characters.
• Rebecca the non-white character, and she is shown as being the
weaker victim and vulnerable.
Class
• In our film class is portrayed as the middle class being more powerful
and abusing their power. Conor(the hypnotist) is more middle class
with a good job and his clothing is more middle class because he is in
a shirt and tie, this suggests that he has a better education and
suggests that he is more clever than me. I'm(the victim/killer) more
working class because my clothing is more working class and casual
which suggests that I am working class and not as intelligent as Conor.
• In our film the higher class are portrayed as being evil and abusing
their power against the underdog working class who is naïve to what
the hypnotist is doing to him.
