Clean and green earth an initiative to swachh bharat
1. Clean & Green Earth:
‘AN INITIATIVE TO SWACHH BHARAT’
2. Introduction :
Earth is the abode of varied no. of species of
plants, animals etc. With a vivid diversity it
is the only planet known to us which
supports and sustains life. This is only due
to nature and its unanimous gifts. But we
the mankind underestimate it and pollute it
and add a burden of debt to ourselves. So to
continue our run in this life we must
conserve and work to protect our
environment.
3. Pollution- an evil in environment…
You must be wondering why there are so
many parks in our society? The reason is
that our cities are polluted and we need
places where we can breath in fresh air.
Villages and hamlets don’t need them
because their environment is already
pure. It is because we the educated class
of society are responsible for most of the
energy wastage and pollution .
4. What is Pollution? :
• Pollution means various problems which
degrade our environment. The problems
related to pollution are :-
• P: Pollution by green house gases
• O: Ozone depletion
• L: Littering of environment
• L: Lack of awareness
• U: Unsuitable and Unhygienic environment
• T:Toxication of environment
• I: Improper health due to respiratory diseases
• O: Oxygen content gets diminished
• N: Nature’s degradation
5. Tackling Pollution……
• Pollution is responsible for
environmental degradation and thus
causes unhygienic conditions in our
environment. If this increases then the
chances of our survival decreases.
6. • To fight against this, clean and green
energy is the best remedy.
• Green energy derived from bio-fuels is
of great use as they don’t pollute the
environment and leave no residue.
• The Government should take steps to
raise awareness about environment
degradation.
7. Green ENERGY…
• Green energy or renewable
source of energy is the most
heavily sought remedy to
tackle pollution…These
sources of energy are infinite
in quantity and don’t pollute
the environment. These
sources of energy include
Hydroelectricity, Wind
energy, etc.

9. Today’s scenario of our society:
• At present India looks somewhat like this :-
10. • So WhAt ShOuLd We dO ?
• Don’t worry. You just have to follow 4
simple and easy steps...
11. Step no. 1
• You must be knowing that paper is
obtained from cellulose which is
obtained from trees. You alone are the
root for the falling of nearly 50 to 60 trees
per year. So always use 2 sides of the
paper and do not waste them. Trees are
the natural filters of air. If trees will not
be there, then how can we breathe?
12. Step no. 2
• Clean and green road habits ensure
minimum pollution and keeps the
environment fresh. We should always
drive our vehicles at a moderate speed of
40 km/hr and should turn off our engines
at signal posts. This would reduce the air
pollution by nearly 20 %.
13. Step no. 3
• Each one plant one. If every one in our
country plants at least 1 tree then we can
add a massive 1.2 billion of trees. This
would reduce the amount of pollution by
nearly 50 %. But as Mahatma Gandhi
says we must bring a change in ourselves
to see the surroundings change.
14. Step no. 4
• This is the most important step. You
should never allow litter to build up
around you. Always keep your homes,
offices, schools etc. clean which will help
you in staying clean.
17. • Keeping in mind the 4th step,
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was
launched. This initiative gives
correspondence to the words-
‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’.
But it is not that the government
should do this, it’s the duty of every
citizen to keep India clean.
18.
19. We hope you would work towards a cleaner and
greener India… Thank you
