1. Analyze learners: My classroom is a group of 19 second graders: Nine boys and Ten
girls. Three children are African American, and two children are Latino.
State Objectives: On Wednesday, my students will recognize and describe different
types of wildlife found in Antarctica and Australia. They will talk about the climate
differences in both regions and what animals live where. This lesson will last an hour
and my students will have a 100% success rate.
Select Methods, Media, and Material: The media I chose for this day is a Pinterest
board on Antarctica, a Voki for Australia, and also a Glogster for Australia.
Utilize Media and Materials: Pinterest has different pictures showing the cold climate
and the animals that live there. There is a video also linked to a pin that I want them to
watch. The Voki for Australia asks questions I want the students to think about before
they start investigating the region deeper. After discussing what the Voki asks, I want
them to spend time on the Glogster. It’s an interactive way for the students to learn more
about Australia and the wildlife.
Require Learner Participation: For this day, I will require discussion and questions
answering. Also, each student is to take notes what they are learning about within these
regions, but also this time will be used as a midweek recap. I want them to also write
down as much as they can about the regions we have already covered.
Evaluate: I will evaluate Wednesday’s lesson by the recap I will be having the students
do. I will be looking to see if they are grasping the information and writing down a
decent amount of what has been taught to them so far.
