1. Evaluation Question 4
How did you use media
technologies in the
construction and
research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. Research Stage
• The research stage of the products I was mainly using the web
browser ‘Google’ to search and find real life actual movie posters,
websites and trailers. Using the internet I was able to gain a wider
source of these products rather than using a magazine with a few
selective films and only have the poster within. Viewing the
official movie trailer of movies was easily done and found using
YouTube. We used past students blogger blogs to find examples
of student work which held all three of the products, this gave me
a good indication of the connections made between and used to
make a student product seem and look professional.
3. Planning Stage
• The planning stage had a lot of the information found from the
internet that was then transferred into documents, such as
‘Microsoft Word’ and ‘Microsoft Publisher’ as well as ‘Microsoft
PowerPoint’. And then used as examples for me then to base my
products off of. It was helpful using these other products as it
gave me a strong indication of what to do and how to do it,
these also gave me ideas for drafts and different designs, so
pictures were taken and formats for posters etc. were made
using publisher to start a solid plan for me to go off of.
4. Construction Stage
• The construction of my ancillary and main products I used
multiple technologies to bring the products together, through the
images, texts and online methods. Within the construction of the
images, I used ‘Photoshop’ to enhance the images used across the
products and to cut out any unnecessary background, which
possibly didn’t fit or was not needed in the image. To enhance the
images I had to go onto the settings of the images and change the
contrast to make the image darker and highlighting the shadows
giving off a good mysterious effect. Also in one of my images I
had to move the colour settings to give the effect I did, this was a
long process but with a good final result as seen on my website. I
used other tools within Photoshop to enable me to edit and
enhance my photos such as the burn, blur and magic wand tools,
all in which were used in various images across my products.
5. Construction Stage
• For the construction of the text I used an online site, ‘1001fonts’,
this site holds thousands of different fonts from me to choose from
and this helped me get the right texts for all different parts of my
products, from the title to the credits all texts were found and fit
perfectly onto my products. Also with the site you are able to choose
the size you want (and still be able to change the size on the
document it was placed in), you could choose the colour of the text
from a large colour pallet, and also be so simple and copy and paste
the font into your document. This made it far less time consuming
than using another method to get the font onto the documents.
6. Construction Stage
• The construction of the website was underdone on a website
building site this was called ‘wix.com’. This helped with formatting
my site and giving a structure in which I could work off of but also
keep to my chosen format which was drafted earlier. This made it
easier and simpler for me having a breakdown of the website in
which everything was detailed to use. With the construction of the
website, my background is of a constant video flicking between
static and a shot of Michael edited to bring different scary effects to
it. This was done using a gif builder website, I was able to input
video and pictures to be streamed as needed, with this site I was
able to change the length of some parts and extend others helping
me again give off a strong scary effect as if the image is to pop up out
the blue.
7. Evaluation Stage
• In my evaluation stages I was able to look back onto my products
using my ‘Blogger’ in which contained all my research, planning and
final products. This made it easy to access and view the products
without a hassle. Also with the evaluation stages I had to find out
what the audience feedback for my products was, for this I got the
chosen audience to view my movie trailer and then answer a survey
which had been emailed to them on ‘Survey Monkey’, once all
surveys had been answered the online survey sight gets all the data
and puts it into graphs and charts for you to evaluate this easier.
