KMCS Background
• Africa-EU Roadmap on food & nutrition security & sustainable
agri (FNSSA) adopted in April 2016 during HLPD Bureau
meeting.
• Recommendation to create a platform for knowledge sharing
on outputs, lessons learned, innovation & good practices from
research projects in FNSSA, to inform policymakers, i.e. AUC &
EC.
• Platform should link research with the private sector &
policymakers.
• CN+ aims to produce a Blueprint on the creation of this
platform, with inputs from private sector, FNSSA experts, end-
users, farmers, policymakers, and other relevant actors.

Objectives of KMCS
• Highlight cases of existing portals in Africa and Europe in the
field of FNSSA;
• Identify the methodological/technical needs for a joint Africa-
EU KMCS;
• Identify best practice methods and principals for knowledge
sharing for research uptake;
• Identify communication gaps between existing portals and
amongst actors of the FNSSA value chains;
• Explore tangible long-term options for the implementation of
a joint Africa-EU KMCS; and,
• Identify potential investors for a joint Africa-EU KMCS and
potential hosting entities.
