2. Purpose of unit Educating students about health and physical fitness at a young age, can help prevent chronic diseases, cancer, and many more! Also, this unit will help students develop and understand how to apply the tools during real-life situations.

4. Why is it important to eat healthy, along with physical activity?
17. Objective 2: Students will understand why physical fitness is important.Student-centered: I will have students in groups of 5. Each student will pick a component to explain why it is important and demonstrate an activity along with it. i.e. (Robert-student) “Flexibility gives us the ability to move our joints in full range of motion.” Once the students is done explaining the component, he/she will demonstrate a stretching exercise following a injury, to emphasize why flexibility is important.

Objective 2: Students will discuss and debate with classmates and teacher, about the why, what, when, where, and how.Student-Centered: Each student will write and name their favorite vegetables, food, hobbies, and how much rest they usually gets. Each student will share what they wrote. Afterwards, I will explain what is healthy, why exercising is important, and how much rest is needed for the body and mind to function. Students will be asked to rewrite a healthy plan, accomodating with their favorites. ** Rewards will be given to whom with the healthiest lifestyle plan.
20. Roles of parents and students Parent and student should participant by actively doing the activities and choosing healthy food together. Parents should encourage students to think positive and make a contract to not give up Also, students would benefit if they’re in a after-school curriculum (band,sports)
21. Effectiveness of Project-based learning Project-based learning is a dynamic approach to teach students how to explore real world problems and challenges. Helps develop core-curriculum skills while working in small collaborative groups. Project-based will be use to help student retain information gained through approaches that prepares them. PBL is proven to enhance students research and organizational skills.
